These DIY Flower Bouquets make the perfect gifts for any holiday or just because you want to make someone's day.
I used sugar cookies and iced them with royal icing. They are two designs, sugar roses and hydrangeas.
How lovely would it be to receive a flower bouquet that you can eat too! so spoil your friends , family, neighbors, or your mom as mother's day is just around the corner!

A bouquet to eat - what a great idea!! I will make this for my wife 😂😂 never thought I could just make one for her, instead of buying, lol! Thanks, Nadine!
Haha right ?! Your welcome ! 😂Your wife will love me !
Roses and my interpretation was hyacinths!
Also a pretty flower but hyacinths are more elongated not round like hydrangeas
Nadine, what tip did you use for the little green leaves? You may have said and I missed it. Very nice video. Thank you.
Hello Elizabeth, thanks so much, so glad you liked the video 🥰 best tip for leaves is a Wilton 352 . Hope this helps !
Hi! Is this really royal icing? I used the recipe on your site, and it’s really runny. It doesn’t look thick like the icing used in this video.
Hello, thanks for trying the recipe. Yes this is royal icing. And same recipe as the site. 1/3 cup water, 4 Tbsp meringue powder , and 453 g confectioners sugar. (1 box here in the US) mine is always nice and thick and then I add a few drops of water to make it the right consistency. Let me know what method/ ingredients you used and maybe we can troubleshoot together. 😊
I used 2cups (454g) confectioners sugar, 4tbsp meringue powder and 1/3cup warm water. Sifted the sugar, blended the water and meringue powder, and then added the sugar. It was more of a glue consistency, and not stiff like yours 🙁
The consistency looks different from your snowflake cookie video that you linked 🙁
@@lajeannababauta2708 yes the consistency is different in that video. Because different techniques were used. But it’s the same recipe! When I initially make it, it’s stiff , then I take some as a base and add water drops as needed depending on how I am decorating
@@lajeannababauta2708 hmm I think that’s it ! I think 453 g of confectioners / icing/ powdered sugar is more than 2 cups. The measurement for granulated and powdered sugar is different. Where do you live? Try to use a weighing scale . Hope this helps, think we have solved the mystery!
I thought you couldn’t use color mill in royal icing because it’s oil based??
Hi Melissa, thanks for your question . so color mill is oil based , but it was fine in this royal icing recipe . It does not work at all if you are coloring and piping actual meringue. You have to use gel color for that , because oil and meringue just don’t mix ., you will lose all the volume and won’t be able to pipe . Royal icing works perfectly well with gel colors too . I just had these prettier colors. Hope this helps 😊
@@NadineAli I’ve been wanting to try the color mill colors because they’re SO PRETTY but royal icing has merengue powder in it so I just don’t get how it doesn’t mess with it. I’m glad it worked for you!
@@melissajames8343 yes you are right oil based colors are best for buttercream and chocolate . And when I make meringue with egg whites and sugar it absolutely does not work . I use gel color . But I wanted to use the pretty colors and with this royal icing recipe the few drops worked, like in the video .
@@NadineAli that’s so good to know! I never wanted to waste time trying the color mill if it didn’t work, I’ll have to order some!
@@melissajames8343 yes of course I understand. Do you usually just work with royal icing ? Or enjoy working with other icings too ?
