Thank you so much for answering my question!!! It's so hard to get people to stop giving you stuff when they don't understand. I've been treated like there is something wrong with me cause I don't want a home full of stuff...I think this will be an on-going learning experience.

Big Love from AZ! . Just remember your hair is a temporary thing and you may find a look on your journey you never thought to consider, regardless, your femininity does not care how short your hair is! I went through an adjustment period when I had let my gray hair grow out a couple of inches before giving in and dyed it. What came next was that I did not return to my former self with dark hair, I looked older, artificial and my husband commented on how hard my features looked. So two years later, I am a "silver sister" and I am the person nature intended.

I love that you talked about decor. Being a minimalist doesn't mean you can't decorate to make your home feel good and comforting or to enjoy the feeling of a holiday. Personally I never go to home stores or buy mass made decor. It never interests me and most of it is cheap garbage that ends up as distracting clutter. All of my decor items are souvenirs from travels and memories with family and friends. Artwork that was made by local artists that I love to support. Holiday decor is all special to me as well. Like you said they are a tradition like a collection not just some cute thing from a big box store that will break next year. If I do want something specific I always go looking at the thrift stores or second hand. Love your videos!

I'm vegan, and I use second-hand leather for the same reasons you mentioned but also struggle with portraying it as "normal".
PS your short hair is super cute!

Love your content and whenever you mention checking emails in the morning, I am 100% aligned with you on this...it definitely helps eliminate any anxiety for the day thinking I'm missing a fire that needs to be put out :) Also, please can you do some yoga videos that we can follow along with :D

I completely relate to the hair comments. I shaved my head so many years ago (only because people told me not too... Really stupid). I didn't think that it would bother me, as I've never been a 'girly girl' ever. The irony is that I got SO many compliments and people still comment about it being really pretty, but I felt SO BUTCH! I couldn't wait for it to grow out again.
I completely don't think that we should all adhere to the gender roles described to us, BUT in the same breath I feel like we need to be true to our essential energy. My energy is way more feminine than I realised (even if it isn't in a pink unicorn type of way)

So many things I’d like to respond to, so what a packed video you made, lots of food for thought! Just on the topic of short hair, I admit I was hoping you would be starting to like it as you grew used to it, but I notice that you still mention it doesn’t feel like you, so that would be very important to listen to and adjust accordingly. Life gives us enough challenges without us having to worry about facing them not feeling ourselves.

I wonder if buying second hand leather stops someone else buying second hand leather and then they buy ‘first hand’ leather? So then are we increasing the demand of leather products by removing other leather products from the market, does that make sense? Just a thought. No judgement on what anyone does or does not do. From a personal perspective, having been vegan for a few years, I just don’t like leather anymore as I can’t look at it without thinking of what it used to be. Very thought provoking video, thanks 😊

B B ooh you’ve made so many interesting points! I guess at the end of the day their are no absolutes. Everyone is different and makes different choices. With regards to your example about minimalism, again it is not one size fits all as some minimalists find they are spending less and perhaps being more frugal, but others are maybe still spending a similar amount of money but just on higher quality items and more on experience instead. I don’t think that if everyone transitioned to minimalism, economies would collapse, they would just evolve and adapt. I imagine this would be the same if everyone transitioned to veganism as well.

There is a related question to the “second hand leather” question: what do you think about vegan foods designed to taste like meat or other animal products like dairy. I am a vegan and do my best not yo eat “fake” foods and I’m addicted to Bliss coconut Mille non-dairy “ice cream”.

Hi, I know this question is for Rebecca but as a non-vegan I would like to comment on this. I love the concept and the values of veganism. I've changed part of my habits by eating less meat, consuming vegetable milk and buying cruelty free beauty products, shampoos, etc. However, I think I could never be vegan since I do like the taste of meat, cheese and yoghurt. So those products that taste like non-vegan but are vegan would be a great help to make the transition to veganism easier, but they cannot be found where I live, so it makes it harder.

Louur Lopez I understand and empathize with liking meat & dairy. I transitioned to eating like a vegan when I was diagnosed at age 62 with Type 1 diabetes, an autoimmune disease. Nutrition is critical to controlling blood glucose and that control is essential to staying healthy and avoiding the potentially deadly effects of this disease. I started a coaching program and the results were nothing short of miraculous. So the way I eat requires me to minimize, if not eliminate., processed foods. It’s a whole food, plant-based low fat diet. I went cold turkey and don’t believe I would have been successful if I had taken the slow road. I’ve come to the ethical aspects of veganism after changing my diet. So much of the foods we eat have ingredients we know virtually nothing about. Our bodies are the first animals we mistreat. It’s not easy and I do eat -carefully - in restaurants, having a harder time in vegan restaurants because they use do make fake foods to modify the taste. I admit that the dairy item I miss most is ice cream. There is a coconut milk brand called Bliss that is very close to the taste of “real” ice cream, maybe better. Fat content is higher than I should eat, but it’s my one true vice. Thanks for responding to my question. We each do our best. One thing I’ve taken to heart since getting this disease is to stop judging others’ choices, especially when it comes to food. 😊

@@patriciawalters3766 What a great lifestyle change. All for the better! I hope you're doing good now. Your eating habits seem so healthy. I know processed foods are terrible but I'm still so addicted to them, I know I have to change that.
Sending lots of love from Argentina ❤

Thank you for answering my question 😃 (I honestly wasn't expecting it, kinda forgot about it lol) I like your hair short but you could do short funky spikes and go fun with it. Just Google creative stuff with short hair. 😊 I love dry heat too! Being in WI next to Lake Michigan it's hard to get though. (Give me 100+ temps) I'm curious, how old are you guys? (Approx if you don't want to really reveal) I'm curious given the life stories.. Take care!🐕 (Hugs to cute Gypsy) Thanks 🥰

Isnt it strange how you say you dont feel feminine but I would never say you dont look feminine. Feelings really are an individual thing arent they? Well I know that sounds stupid but I hope you know what I mean. You have such a good face that short hair, I feel, fits you to a tee.

shoot and citrus oils shouldn't be used in houses with pets either apparently but says if you like the lemon smell that lemongrass is a safe option.
