@@Monkforilla Who asked what? Pointing out a beginner's mistake isn't rude. It's not 5/8, and the difference is actually quite important, as here, every single of the 5 beats is a downbeat. In a 5/8 feel, it is not. And it takes years to really feel the difference. Anyway, cheers :)
This was one of the very first songs I played professionally at age 13 in 1969. Back then we dressed up to play and many time with the same clothing or at lease glittery vests. Great songs and I still play it.
@Emanuele Pisanò, do you give me permission to use the audio of your video? I wanted to do a cover video, using your drumless track, which looks and sounds perfect for what I plan to do. Please let me know :).
Nice track, the trading idea is nice, but in reality a a key aspect of soloing to this song is hearing the bass line (or piano) as an ostinato and being able to play off that. Do you think you could ever make a track which maintains that ostinato for a longer time as in the original track. Thank you for your work
Thanks a lot!!! The world needs more people like you.
Drumming along to this everyday has certainly improved my 5/8 drumming. That bass line is STELLER and really helps with that 5/8 feel.
5/4
Who asked though

Eyo dropped this 👑
This is just perfect to play with 1.25x enabled IMO. Like that firey NYC live take from Dave B quartet,
Pulse is on the 1 and + of 3 (middle of 5/4 feel) i think maybe
