He didn’t rule on 3 continents. He built the empire which lasts over more than 600 years. The empire’s name was on his name the Ottoman Empire..... basically English people and romans called osman as Ottoman so they called it Ottoman Empire..... empire was build in 1299 and later on in 15th century they reached in 3 continents and his successors ruled on such a big empire...... the most significant in them was sultan mehmad the 2nd and later he became famous with the name sultan mehmad fatih.....fatih means the conquerer .... sultan conquered a lot of cities and countries which is the 7th sultan of ottomans after osman the 1st.... his famous conquest was costontinople ( istunbol of today ).... basically there was a prophecy made by prophet Muhammad (pbuh) that the one day muslims will conquer the costontinople and that ameer or leader will be the best leader and that army will be the best army. This city was very very important city as it plays the role of the body of the butterfly between asia and Europe and 23 armies had tried to take costontinople but all have failed including his father..... hope this knowledge will helpful to you guys...
