Excellent test match between the two. France gave England a really good game, their SVNS players were excellent in the 15’s campaign. England were once again just unstoppable. 20 Six Nations titles for The Red Roses and 18 Grand Slams. It’s their third time they’ve won the Treble Grand Slam. They’ve also won six consecutive Six Nations titles. Add that to their 2 IRB World Cups and WXV title🌹
It's entertaining rugby. The tackling usually isn't quite as good as the men's game, so therefore there's more breakaway running. Having said that, Harlequins v Northampton had a lot of breakaway running this past week.
Interesting to see how England can still win whilst playing yet another different style. It’s showing a great maturity for the whole team. Excellent to see how Aitcheson has mastered her kicking technique. There were 14 points which could have been very important on other days to come. It’s just lovely to see how the ladies are learning all of the game, and continuing to think their way through 80 minutes. Thank you.
Kudos to England; they're the best. Mais bravo les filles, vous avez livré un match remarquable...Une grande équipe est en train de naître, la roue va tourner!😀
I thought that in the last game against Ireland Jess showed us, for the first time, some good defence and kicking - not today though. Ellie Kildunne seemed restrained and never really posed a threat.
@@johnpoile1451 Her tackliong has improved but she reminds me of Chris Ashton who (early on at least) used to flit about/run alongside players, like a moth around a lightbulb, without committing to the tackle. Dow, Jones, Heard etc get straight to the point, rock-solid in defence as in attack...
England all forward tries, france all backs tries. Hopefully the red roses took the time to thank the men’s game for the years of subsidy that has put them where they are. No real feminist would ever accept money from men………right?
What a campaign by the Red Roses! I was at Twickenham with my granddaughters last week and wish I could have been in Bordeaux today. This was a real test for the Roses and the French would have been much closer, had it not been for errors and, of course, some splendid defending by the England team. In my opinion, Ménager shouldn't have scored that first try, which was down to a missed tackle. I watched the other two games and the gap between England and France and the other teams is clear and obvious. Pace, physicality and skills of the two top teams is at another level. I hope that the relevant unions will invest properly and that we'll have more proper tests like today. Well done the Roses!!
@@chabirandjeanmarc7032 If what you say is correct (although my research tells me that there have been professional contracts since 2019), why do you hold this against the Red Roses? If you find the situation to the detriment of the France women's team, you should complain to the FFR. It's not as if the FFR is short of funds. As for the accusation of 'arrogance', I would love you to cite examples. At no time during the build up to the match this weekend did I hear any member of the team or coaching team express any idea that the result was a foregone conclusion. In fact, they were all very careful to say just how much they respected Les Bleues and that they were expecting a hard and demanding test. So, where's the arrogance, please? Do you object to their celebrating their scores and wins? Is that it? Or do you resent the fact that they are No.1 in the world? And, if you take the time to listen to the post match interviews and analysis, you will hear just how much they Roses had to fight for the victory and how they admire their adversaries. Any criticism of the match was directed to their own performance. So, please give the old 'arrogant English' trope a rest, s'il vous plaît.
Yes a great game. England's tactics seemed to revert to the earlier style of forward dominance and we didn't see the half backs throwing the ball around as they did in the last couple of games. Perhaps someone can tell me what is the tactical advantage of the box kick. Too often possession is given up.
I believe when the team with the ball isn't advancing up the pitch then the box kick comes into play. The defending team put pressure on defence, the attacking team finds it hard to penetrate said defence and advanced up the pitch towards the try line. The french girls are a very good side with quick, strong, fast talented players so throwing the ball around from side to side isn't a wise thing to do.
Congrats Red roses great effort! good work from France too.bit sure if our black ferns from new Zealand olay England this year,if they do will be a massive test
the French scrum was better. Also I don't understand why the French mauls are not as effective. la mêlée francaise était meilleure. Aussi je ne comprends pas que les mauls francais ne soient pas aussi efficaces.
For those who may wonder, why did the penalty count change so much in the second half? England were penalised - not at all the same as giving a penalty away - just twice in the first half, but then, not doing anything different were penalised double figures in the second. Whatever was in the referees mind it stopped the flow of the game. England were continually whistled for killing the ball on the ground, when France were holding on for so long that the grass growing under the ball needed cutting. Referees really ought to understand that if they are not consistent towards both sides it is the game suffers. The French backs looked good with ball in hand, so were their own worst enemies when not playing the ball more quickly - aided and abetted by the referee who allowed this to happen. Please, oh please, before next year's World Cup can someone who understands rugby give the lady refs some training - to make the games consistently structured rather than the whistle becoming a naught but a lottery.
Thoroughly enjoy watching the Roses. There’s not many sports where the gap between men and women is so close. Rugby union is the one. I don’t mean this disrespectful to the other sports at all, more to highlight what a fantastic advancement the women’s game has done
Great to see another win but sadly the Red Roses rely too heavily on boring heffalump rolling mauls, a very good way to turn people off the game. Lost them the RWC against a fast and clever NZ side but unfortunately it never rubbed off on our girls. Mens better to watch unfortunately, even if we don't win as often...
Surely, it's up to the opposition to immobilize England's mauling, then, they would have to resort to using their backs. After all, it's a legitimate part of the game.
England's backs scored more tries than the forwards and the top three try scorers of the tournament were England's back three. I also doubt that England had any more rolling mauls than any other team. John Mitchell has made significant changes to move away from forward dominated play.
@@hoodedtongue You're spot on there. What the Roses did so well on Saturday, was to adapt their game when it became obvious that France were able to slow the ball down and disrupt distribution in the backs. Hence going back to a tactic which has won games. After all, that's why they're playing - to win the game.

What happened to the Megan Jones interception try?
I quite enjoy watching the women's rugby, obviously less brutal and slower than the guys but still beats boring football

Excellent. Bravo to the Roses🎉😊
Breech is good at scoring but she let in two tries today. Tackling practice on Monday...
agree
I thought that in the last game against Ireland Jess showed us, for the first time, some good defence and kicking - not today though. Ellie Kildunne seemed restrained and never really posed a threat.
Kildunne & Dow need quick ball to take advantage of small gaps in a stretched opposition defences. It just was not that kind of game today.
Simon Middleton had doubts regarding her defensive work.

Oh, do shut up. You complete and utter bore.
Meg Jones is not a forward...
Everyone can score a try, when in range of the sticks. Just go for it. NZ ferns do it all the time.
Yet the top three try scorers in the tournament were England's back three.

Well done both teams but great play from the England pack to dominate at the right times
Could have been a great match if not for the foolish red card tackle from France, can only beat what's in front of you though. Well done England
