@@joypink5599as a GM for Warhammer roleplays my parties had the tendency to kidnap and "adopt" NPCs... So I decided to mix in some consequences, and it became hilarious. One group roleplaying soldiers kidnapped a little girl NPC, and she slowly went insane under them and then phased into this sort of stable insanity thanks to them making her an absolute menace that killed or contributed to the death every officer they were under one way or another, both the "good" officer who actually cares about the safety of the soldiers and the terrible glory hogs who send the men to die for their honor. Spoiler Warning: Shadow objecting to the idea that the train was behind it is a bit odd given that he's the only one of them whose best friend is literally a robot.
His objection was "I don't think a train would be capable of wanting to kill us," which is a reasonable take in our world where we don't have any machines yet capable of thinking but in Sonic's World Shadow has been exposed to a wide variety of different death robots, many of which are large and shaped like established objects like Ferris Wheels, animals or vehicles, and one of which is his platonic life partner.

The 3 big differences between the Dear Evan Hanson musical and movie that made the musical so widely acclaimed but the movie so critically panned were that; 1: In the Musical, Evan faces massive consequences for his actions as all his family and friends push him away and his life sort of falls apart until it's just his mom left. The whole song where everyone flips at him and things start to crumble was entire omitted from the movie. 2: Sort of riding off of 1, but in the musical, Evan doesn't "win" in the end. He doesn't fix things and he doesn't make things better with the family who's life he invaded and tore apart. It ends on a bittersweet note where he sits alone but learns that the family have come together and grown, but knows they will never want anything to do with him, and he accepts that. In the movie he "fixes" things by making a big video of the real people Connor new and has a big "redemption", which just doesn't make sense after what he did. 3: Evan in the musical is a child. He is an idiot teenager with crippling anxiety who is pushed into making absolutely terrible decision after terrible decision; and the musical doesn't play around with that. It is full aware he is digging himself into a deeper and deeper dark hole, and doesn't try to pretend he's doing a good thing, even if there comes a point in the story where he himself does. The movie decides to make the mind-boggling move of not only casting the OG actor who is very much an adult in the role, but also not even trying at all to make him look younger with makeup or special effects, which entirely turns a tragic chain of bad decisions made by a dumb kid into a truly horrific set of actions taken by a grown-ass man.
^^^ yes, this! Dear Evan Hansen is a fantastic musical if taken as a cautionary tale. The moral ambiguity makes it very realistic, but I also understand why it wouldn't appeal to everyone. In the musical, Evan actually faces consequences, but in the movie it's all framed as he did nothing wrong
This game did something a lot of Sonic games fail at: MAKING HIM AN ACTUALLY LIKABLE AND KIND CHARACTER!!! Sure, he’s witty and a little sarcastic, but he’s a really good guy with a heart of gold.
i saw all the comments about alfred's perfect timing but nothing could have prepared me for him joining at the EXACT time eggman showed up, literally within seconds! holy crap, that was fantastic
What I really love is that it's still 100% possible to work out that Espio was the one who "murdered" Sonic. In Shadow's interrogation scene, he mentions that Espio lied about being in the library, because he looked for him and couldn't find him - he didn't just walk in a straight line right through it, like we were lead to believe. This isn't mentioned during the rest of the interrogation as we just focus on clearing up Shadow's alibi. Which also means that Espio's the only one proven to be a liar, making him more likely to have given the false tip. Like a true murder mystery, it lays out all the clues for the reader to find.
I was looking forward to the 2nd part of this fandub, for me this is a great game and knowing that you took the time to get together and play it makes me very happy, now well... Marina will Return in Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
The Alfred plot twist was incredible
Spoiler Warning:
Shadow objecting to the idea that the train was behind it is a bit odd given that he's the only one of them whose best friend is literally a robot.
Actually makes complete sense. Doesn't wanna be racist at Omega.
That's probably why he was against it, honestly.

I actually found out a little sooner, bc if you choose the "Dont turn is into robots!" Dialogue option Eggman says something to the effect of "that's a good idea, I'll give Sage some new toys to play with!" Which is terrifying but also kinda adorable? He's such a daughter's dad man
And yeah God damn that eye strain during the boss fight 😵💫😵💫
Alfred popping up out of thin air was EXACTLY what I had hoped for.
That scene was HYPE.
i can't believe this visual novel sonic murder mystery released on april fool's day was so genuinely funny and delightful, what a treat!! also the alfred and sage jumpscares were both fantastic, my god

The sheer disregard! I finally know what it means to be a side character.
I swear, if it wasn't in print, I'd have thought the fandub VAs improvised it, because that is so in character for Alfred's Eggman. I'm almost expecting an unhinged rant before this video is through.
I love Alfred doesn’t speak as himself until he is done voicing Eggman for the scene
Finally! This is unironically my favorite Sonic game of all time, so I'm so glad you guys finally finished dubbing it!

The 3 big differences between the Dear Evan Hanson musical and movie that made the musical so widely acclaimed but the movie so critically panned were that;
1: In the Musical, Evan faces massive consequences for his actions as all his family and friends push him away and his life sort of falls apart until it's just his mom left.
Did anyone else hear “I killed him yeah.” And immediately think of Zach Oyama?
GAME CHANGER
YES OH MY GOD
I refuse to believe that wasn't intentional.
3 months late but penny's referenced game changer before, definitely intentional lol
This game did something a lot of Sonic games fail at: MAKING HIM AN ACTUALLY LIKABLE AND KIND CHARACTER!!! Sure, he’s witty and a little sarcastic, but he’s a really good guy with a heart of gold.
Yes!!! Portrayal of the characters here is really good!
Sage is adorable and must be protected at all costs.
Alfred dose this shit for the sport of it he pulled up like “something just happened” Mf got that spidey sense
He is the overseer of SnapCube.

Did you actually scream?
i saw all the comments about alfred's perfect timing but nothing could have prepared me for him joining at the EXACT time eggman showed up, literally within seconds! holy crap, that was fantastic
Something that I don't think is appreciated enough is Penny doing a conversation between two characters both voiced by her.
Shadow saying Leave. now. When being asked if he was a hot honey fan…like he was straight up about to murder Preston with chaos control.
it’s spelt PRQ7QE btw

😂😂😂😂
i adore the fact that even the cast makes references to the dubs in casual conversation
Also most of espio's alibis can be disproved by his ability to read minds and being invisible
@riroufudo I don’t think he can actually read minds to me it seemed like he’s just really good at picking up on subtle body language cues
2:05:54 TAILS FACE SYNCS PERFECTLY LMAO
The catapults 46:26 moment is underrated

Lol I just realised that's what they made Prq7qe's life like at the end! 😆
"Big money! Big money!"
Pausing to call my theory: Espio was the murderer, he can turn invisible, could have read Prq7qe's mind on the book quiz, and him using blowdarts is pretty plausible. However, the conductor is secretly a villain with ties to Eggman and took advantage of the situation
Also all of the train tech is very eggman
Also Espio is going so hard on his role in the game
you got the murderer correct
50% correct. Not bad
close enough
If you ask Eggman not to turn you into robots, he comments that he'll give you all to Sage as new toys.
