Although they're chinese, they are poor chinese kids who are snatched from their parents by their communist govt. They may or may not ever see their parents from this moment. Remember, when 50+ chinese soldiers died last, their parents didn't even get the news immediately of their child's death or even get any chance to do their son's funeral! And since it is the communist govt (who is loved by anti national communists in India), no one dared to even ask a question or do a protest. :D Hence it could be the reason of their crying and wailing.
I call BS on the "farewell with parents" part. You dont cry like that with mouth wide open just because you wont be able to see your parents for a few months. Maybe if you're a primary school kid.

Even i wont cry if i am send to defend India. I am a normal civilian and never joined any defence services ever. It should be matter of pride to defend our motherland.
This is why a recruit force will always crush a conscription force. The latter are marching to their doom, the former signed up to fight. Morale is everything in war.
The true reason behind them crying is that there is a rule in China that all college students should join PLA. More worse, they are sent to our GALWAN VALLEY😘😍🕺🕺
