There is good explanation for that. In technical terms, a bike's power formula is -
get fresh air in the engine as fast as possible (turbos or filters)
Get the gas from engine out as fast as possible to make room for the fresh air again. (By exhausts and exhaust systems)
Exhaust is getting the air out so more fresh air has room to come in and take its place.

Hi, I have been following you since long time. I have recently bought my new bike. I was wondering if you could tell 1. how often should I clean it so that the paint job or the quality stays good ? 2. What care should be taken when cleaning the bike ! 3. If yes when should I go for teflon coating for my new bike 4. How often should I clean the chain .. in how many kilometres
During your motorcycle wash, make sure the quality of the water is clean and pure, or else it might cause rusting and paint job may fade away over time. Do not use hair shampoo or detergent to wash your bike.
Chain cleaning can be done in between every 500-700kms. Enjoy ⚡️

I have a full system exhaust (Daytona-Dagrex) on my Fz 16 - 2013.
K&N filter, Gixer Carburator, DB killer in place & a small mesh type cylinder welded into in the bend pipe to control back pressure.
likes:
smooth sound - 80 Decibels (with additional modifications)
Efficiency- 50KMPL @ 4500 RPM 40KMPL @100+ speeds
Top Speed - 138 KMPH
Less weight (5-6 Kilos weight reduction)
Dislikes:
Cops, Boring people, excited puppies & cows.
Illegal even tho the exhaust is purchased as an accessory from Yamaha showroom
engine needs reboring sooner than stock. (Maintanance is the key)
What if i just change the stock air filter to any aftermarket air filter ( BMC , K&N etc... ) without any aftermarket exhaust and mods , only the air filter with stock exhaust . Does that going to affect my bike engine? Do i have to tune my ECU ?

I have installed k&n and iridium plugs, liqui moly oil but haven’t changed exhaust on my 411 Himalayan because of legality of it
Does replacing stock end-can with a slip-on and decat-ing the pipe (while keeping headers unchanged) count as a full-system replacement? Would it have the same problem you said when decat-ing and keeping stock end-can?

I ride my Dad's 18 year old carburetor motorcycle . Its a 150cc sports commuter and the engine is super refined as well . Now , Can I install an aftermarket slip on muffler on it? Or will it damage the engine?

I have installed IXIL titanium full system headers on my Z900, but using stock end can , as per your explanation the stock exhaust will get damage soon, are you sure? What about the choking? After the installation, air is leaking from mid pipe which the dealer is saying normal, and pops bangs are also normal as per him, however the engine is choking, literally I can feel the engine is getting choked sort of when pulled harder or for long rpms, can you help what shud I do?
The midrange performance might have dropped, freeflow exhaust would sort this out. And if the problem persists, you need to remap the ecu.
@@srmotoworld thanks a lot for the reply, I as I mentioned in the above comment I have installed headers already which is freeflow titanium, infact I had throttle body cleaned just before the install, will get it checked at the service centre, what about the damage you mentioned about the end can with modified headers? Is it true that will happen?

I installed Powerrage slip-on exhaust on my BS6 Himalayan alongwith a BMC air filter. I immediately felt a significant drop in performance. Installed FuelX Pro to fix the problem (I guessuit was because the bike was running lean). The performance is somewhat back to the stock experience but there's no performance boost. Since you mentioned it, should I try switching to the stock air filter? Or, should I go for a Powertronic ECU? I just wanted better throttle response and a good sounding exhaust 🥲
