- In today's step by step crochet tutorial I will show you how to crochet this absolutely beautiful cardigan sweater, crochet baby coat, or crochet baby jacket for baby girls from 9 to 12 months. This crochet sweater cardigan can also be made smaller or bigger by simply changing your hook size and making it in the exact same way with same number of starting chains as this tutorial. 3-6M use 3mm hook with #3, dk or 8ply yarn

9-12M I used 4mm hook with #3, dk or 8ply yarn
12-18M use 4.5mm hook with #3, dk or 8ply yarn
2-3Y use 5mm hook with #4, Aran, or 10 ply yarn

Question: When making the sleeves (row 1), do you put a double crochet over every single crochet or only the first and last single crochet?

I would use a smaller hook size than what you used for 2-3 yr size. Tension varies so that can affect the final size. Good luck 👍

10ply is for Australians and make it exactly in the same way as this tutorial. You can use Aran or any yarn with thickness of about 4mm. As far as how much yarn, you will definitely need more. Look in the information box to see how much yarn I used so you get an idea since I’m not sure how much you will need for your size.
