Tip: If you are doing this, when you dig the tree, put 2x4's arms so t hat the tree cone is slightly smaller than the new hole. Mix up a bucket of thick mud and dump in the new hole. This fills the space between the tree and the hole, and by putting your weight at the right point, you can correct leaning trees somewhat.
Please wear hearing protection! Hammering the spades seems innocuous, but the actual sound pressure level is high enough to do tiny bits of hearing damage. After a lifetime of thinking my comfort level was a good way to judge my need for earplugs, it turns out my perception is much more tolerant than my eardrums. I have tinnitus and high frequency hearing loss at 60 yrs old, 20 years earlier than I should...
Is the company stil there? I bought a 3pt hitch 24" used one and was wondering what 2 extra parts where used for: a long "scraper" with the top end like the spades and a flat bar piece with one end rounded like to go aroud round rods plus a pivot in middle. Website doesn't work nor demo videos or email. Thanks
@@ElizabethMBoyd Sorry, Elizabeth, but I don't know. This link seems to work. hosting.maxit.biz/faqs.asp Call the 800 number that you see there. Sorry that I couldn't be of more help. I am surprised that nobody has taken over their product line (as far as I can tell).

"and that's how you remove a steel rod from your lawn" good humor!
Primitive but better than hand digging with spade, burlapping and tying with sisal twine..

The manufacturer recommends keeping the wheels in the original position when installing the tree
