The answer is no. The gifts have never stopped. Cessationism is incorrect theology.
Then the question is why you do you not see those type of miracles today? And yet we see other impossible phenomena almost every week.
@@krispyqwiff8161Those miracles do happen today. Just last summer, I witnessed this elderly woman with a hunched over back get supernaturally healed after the elders of my church surrounded her and prayed over her, just like how Jesus healed a similarly afflicted woman in Luke chapter 13.
There is a endless amount of claims about healing and visions as far back as you can read. What changed is everyone's mindset.
The answer is yes, it could be that the gifts ceased
But it could also be that there a special period of increased supernatural activity associated with the incarnation but not that the gifts have ceased outright!

I guess that cessationiat stuff has come back into focus since I was baptised on the Holy Spirit. I speak in tongues, prophesy, have words of knowledge, have experienced healing for myself and others, lived miraculously, interpreted tongues. I'll keep it brief and wont give an exhaustive list.The gifts never went away. They're here to have and love and they give glory to The Lord Jesus Christ. It's a pity that you've blocked yourself from enjoying them. They're there if you want them. Love your brother in Christ.

The key point made is that supernatural healing is God's will and not ours. To conclude miracles have totally ceased means that we no longer believe in a God of miracles. The cessationist must deal with the idea of God being outside of our timeline. The fact that God is outside of our Universe and Timeline provides security in the continuation of miracles.
The miracles recorded in the Old and especially the New testament were given by God, A) To prove His divinity (Jesus) and B) To establish the 1st churches
Those miracles still happen today and will continue to happen until the end comes,
But.....those miracles are now spiritual miracles, miracles of grace worked in the heart of sinful and fallen men and women and children.
That is not to say that God doesn't heal our physical ailments, He can and does, through prayer but this gift of healing no longer is worked through men.
@@markie6477 Your Point B is a wrong-headed assumption. You ASSUME that GOD used signs and wonders to "establish the first churches". That is incorrect. First, there is only one Church. Signs and wonders were performed by JESUS and His disciples BEFORE the Day of Pentecost (and even BEFORE the Cross!). When HOLY SPIRIT fell on the 120 believers in the upper room about 3,000 Jews were added to their number, Peter addressed the multitude outside the upper room, quoting the prophet Joel (Joel 2). The prophet Joel is clearly talking about a later time when he says, "I will pour out My Spirit in those days." He doesn't stipulate that it is only for a time between the Day of Pentecost and when the last apostle dies. He clearly refers to believers prophesying and having revelatory dreams and visions (as in the Church Age), but then he goes on to mention "blood and fire and pillars of smoke...the sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood." (cf. Matt. 24:29; Mark 13:24-25; Rev. 6:12-13) Has the sun been turned into darkness or the moon into blood? No! That clearly means that Joel was talking about both miracles existing during one and the same period of time, namely the Church Age. Joel did not make the distinction that believers will prophesy and dream dreams and see visions during an Apostolic Age and then later beyond the Apostolic Age the sun will then be turned into darkness and the moon into blood. Joel is clearly talking about all of the aforementioned miracles as if they all will happen during the one period or age (in the future, relative to Joel), namely the Church Age. Cessation is a lie from the pit of hell!

I will never set a limit to what God wants to do for us. There is so much purpose for miracles, the greatest giving opportunity to open the spiritual eyes of unbelievers to come to a relationship with God. God does for us individually what he purposes, bringing us closer to his heart relationally. He’s in control. I’m grateful for that and can walk in peace that he sits on the throne and the his Word is true.

I am sorry that you have not experienced God in your life. I have watched God heal many broken bones in my own body. My thumb was slammed into a car door. I did not heel any pain until the door was open and I saw my thumb looking flat. My family prayed and the doctor swore that there was a cast on my hand. X-ray showed that it was mended by casting on the thumb. Explain that.

I agree 100%! Prophecies, Tongues, even Knowledge etc., all have ceased! Only those who follow their own desires of the flesh, pretend they have that power to keep doing all those miracles that were only being done before the Old Testament and the Old Covenant etc. Such blinded people need to know that Jesus holds the key to both good and evil. LOVE is the Only New Law of Christ❤. We are supposed to TRUST Jesus and start living in the New Testament because Christ is and has been with man for nearly 2000 years.
Yes we are living in the New Earth since the END of that Great and terrible Day of the Lord there in the literal destruction of Jerusalem 70 A.D.
Jesus ENDED his first creation which is called the first earth and the first heaven.
As Jesus literally fulfilled the Beginning of the END on the cross, He said, It is Finished. (past tense.)
After Jesus fulfilled the End of the END in 70 A.D. we learn in
Revelation 21:1-9. that he has made everything new and he told John: "It is DONE."
What all TRUE and HONEST christians need to do is TRUST Jesus' words as written. Who else can come between the New Born in Christ and The Comforter which is The Holy Ghost? Ask yourselves🙏🏻
Why is the New Earth new? Because Jesus told John, Behold the tabernacle of God is with man. Was the tabernacle of God with man in the Old Covenant? NO NOT AT ALL. why? Come on guys! We must all listen and allow ourselves to be taught directly none other than The Holy Ghost of promise. Jesus told the twelve that if he go not away, The Holy Ghost would not come so that he may ABIDE with them FOR EVER.
This is why Jesus said, ".... to blaspheme against the Holy Ghost is UNFORGIVABLE and this is the LAST ENEMY to conquer and is called Second Death.
Total unbiblical nonsense. The power of God still moves through people in supernatural gifts. Not everyone who believes and operates in such gifts belongs to unbiblical, Bethal-like movements.

This is what happens when scripture is explained to suit our theories lol come on all this twisting of scripture just so that the issue of tongues be buried,we all know the issue is tongues here hahaha reformed theologians can do and should do better , am sorry to say this Brother Justin Peters cessation doctrine stands on shaky ground ,the gifts did not cease ,it would have made more sense if the apostles never walked in them if it all ended with Christ but it didnt ,aren't we and the apostles operating in the same dispensation of grace,so how come some experienced and boom some did and when exactly did the gifts cease? AD 64? why you say? lol it just doesnt make sense eeh
