This is another fabulous group from the 50's-60's. This was the time of classy romantic heartfelt songs. Sadly they don't make music like this anymore. They had so many great hits such as "Only You", "The Great Pretender", "Enchanted", "(You've Got) The Magic Touch", "My Prayer", "Twilight Time", "Harbor Lights" etc.
Definitely one of my favorite groups. My Aunt had their album and I would babysit for her and play it all the way through over and over!! I was also fortunate to be able to see them in concert in the late 70's. They were truly awesome!! This one is once of my favorites of theirs!!!
One of the most beautiful songs ever!!!! His voice name escapes me is one of the greatest singers ever. Shout out to the other band members. Job well well done. Nothing like beautiful old school songs as such. I suggest reacting to There's a Moon out Tonight by the Capris, one of the greatest doowop songs ever.
THIS was a favorite sing of myself and my HS Auto Mechanics teacher. We used to listen to oldies together after school was over when I was in the shop finishing up my car projects. He came out from Jamaica Queens out to Long Island with his wife and his two sons. He nade the trip out to bring them to my churcg...i crued once I saw him walking back down the aisle. I love that last nite and boy of boy could he sing and hit that note! Ppl were always amazed by his signing... that's cuz my teachers family was very religious. So they didn't encourage him to be involved with music. He was geared to be just his regular studies and his religion studies. He sas raised as a Jehovah Witness BUT he truly had an amazing voice and it used to have awesome acoustics in that garage bay! I love you Mr Moses Caban! You're the best! #NYGenXBIKERLady
My Mom lied to her Dad. She took her Mom to see the Platters at Hershey Park Arena. Her dad was VERY RACIST and would have lost it had he known where they had gone that night.
There is a film this song appears in called Always. I love that film. And equally love this song too. Richard Dryfuss, Holly Hunter, John Goodman and it was the last film to star Audrey Hepburn. I would recommend a view.
Reaction request: My father had a 7” single Extended Play called The Black Echoes it contained Duke of Earl - Gene Chandler, It’s in his kiss- Betty Everett, Make it easy on yourself - Jerry Butler and Raindrops - Dee Clark I loved listening to it when I was expanding my musical knowledge in my teens. All fabulous recordings would love to see your reaction to one or all of them. Sadly the EP isn’t available on YT but the individual recordings are.
The Platters ....Only You...Classic
What a timeless and great song !! And the singer belted it out of the park!!!
❤❤❤❤
This is so beautiful, and the performance is not afraid to go over the top.

Tony Williams was simply amazing 🤩
Goosebumps!!! (And I'd never listened to all the words before...)
Every breath I take by Gene Pitney ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love, love, love this song.
Such a great band. The fabulous Tony Williams is the lead singer… classic..
Not a huge 50's fan but this is one of the few tunes that absolutely crosses all genres and barriers. Sheer perfection! Nice pick!👍👍👍👍👍
Love them
I always love your reactions to the music of our generation. So nice to see someone younger love it as we do. Nice work Jayy. Jim
I'm 66. My parents slow-danced to this magic in the 50s.
My Mom lied to her Dad. She took her Mom to see the Platters at Hershey Park Arena. Her dad was VERY RACIST and would have lost it had he known where they had gone that night.
always love this song back in the 50s when i was young
This was my mom and dad’s song ❤❤❤
One of the best recordings, ever. The song was written in the early 1930’s.
"Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" is a show tune written by American composer Jerome Kern and lyricist Otto Harbach for the 1933 musical Roberta.
First time I heard this song was back in the 70s while sitting in my car watching American Graffiti at the drive in and have loved it ever since
This was the music we danced to at the sock hops waaaaaaaaaaay back when.
This was one of the songs that broke my resistance to classics from the 50s (I'm a 70s-80s child).
Omgosh, one of my all time faves!! Thanks for the reaction 🎵🎶💚
Other awesome Platters hits: TWILIGHT TIME, MY PRAYER, THE MAGIC TOUCH, THE GREAT PRETENDER, ONLY YOU; Elvis Presley sang Only You LIVE in 1955 🎤 🎶
Thank You 🙏 for another great reaction to a great song
Recommendation: Clarence Clemons and Jackson Browne "You're a friend of mine" fantastic song of friendship
My parents loved the Platters.
❤

True Love Ways by Buddy Holly.
Does anyone ever hear this song and think that this guy’s friends are jerks for making fun of him?
Beautiful music. A little before my time but barely.
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Hello you hearing knock on wood
The guy who sings 'ONLY YOU' has got a magical voice, and reminds me of growing up in the mid fifties
