some ideas for a better planet
      Matthew 5: 27-28
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
      Luke 17:1
And he said to his disciples, “Temptations to sin are sure to come, but woe to the one through whom they come!
better stop producing / uploading / watching "music videos".. (or similar videos, pics, profile pictures, thumbnails, title names, headlines, usernames + harmful comments, bad words, lies, disrespect, harmful lyrics etc! on social media + everywhere else too.
"Temptations to sin" / seduction etc. must stop)
      start deleting? censoring etc.?
destroy your smartphones, cams, data storage devices etc? would be better.
remove temptations / seduction + other evil things from TV, magazines, radio stations, broadcasting etc? would be better.
many young people are watching those videos (or reading / typing harmful comments, or doing other bad things!) etc. all over the world. and its NOT ok!
parents? (or people in authority): intervene?! seriously
      wait.. there is more:
harmful drawings / comics / animations etc, clothing / styles / hairstyles / behaviour, facial expressions, gestures, dancemoves, acting, exercises, sports etc.
harmful things in video games, news, reports, interviews, vlogs, tutorials, movies, series, trailers, entertainment shows, (+ backgrounds + surroundings), books, art, artworks, calendars, posters, business flyers, catalogues, leaflets, packagings, stickers etc. (words, speeches (+ voice types, vocal color etc), music, sounds, visuals, references! etc.)

+ better stop online dating and other harmful things!

Just completed this exact same mod to my 12-Inch MacBook (Early 2016) with amazing success. Idle temps down from 65c to 42c, stress testing 73c+ down to stable 59c. Used 0.5mm GELID Solutions GP Extreme Thermal Pad cut to a square to fit over the unbelievably tiny cpu heatsink, and I removed an equally sized square from the black thermal insulating tape from the back plate, to provide improved thermal conductivity. Fits together like a glove!

hmm, from an Engineering POV, I would be worried about the bottom plate warping due to the poorly distributed heating of the plate. I would also be worried about the hot plate further heating up the batteries and thus hurting their longevity. If these things don't happen, then its a good mod imo. You could also install some insulating foam or other thin insulator between the bottom plate and the batteries (if there is space of course) if you're worried about your batteries heating up.

    • @SirW0nka
      @SirW0nka 3 роки тому

But having your batteries impacted would imply doing heavy workloads all the time, which I think most people buying the Air won't. It's just a way to have better performance when you need it, so in normal use there shouldn't be a huge difference in temperature.

I wonder what a mod like this will do to the longevity of the device. Won’t increasing the temperature of the entire chassis cause damage over time to other temperature sensitive components in the MacBook, like the battery and even the display?
This seems like a good solution if you plan on only using your laptop on a desk with a cooling pad and cool ambient airflow in the room, but come on… it’s a mobile device for a reason.

You'd be fine in most cases, as general use and browsing wont raise your temps much. Either way, the much lower TDP of the M1 vs the Intel Airs also come into play. Intel Macs tented to run much warmer over their years, and their batteries were fine long-term. Unless you're pegging your CPU all day long, this mod would be fine, and even then...

I think apple should bring back the 2011 macbook Pro form factor as a "desktop replacement" with updated ports with new components on the inside, It wouldn't be a bad place to really scale the M1 or use intel offerings with a discreet GPU. I know the 2011 Macbook pros were known for overheating but having looked inside one before, even though the fin stacks were thick, they weren't very long, which could easily be improved. Plus the newer chips scale greatly with a little extra headroom

Potentially, all you would have to do is add a dbrand skin and then you are not contacting the aluminum case directly. Would that increase limit to 70C/75C (TME/ITE)? You could even add a thin later of insulation under the hotspots between the case and the dbrand skin, since the case is basically being used as a heatsink.
