The fact that my low GPA makes me doubt myself every time I try to apply for a job. I feel worthless.

Why do universities apply gpa cgpa rules while schools doesn't have this rule?
100%
The genuine explanation is because a GPA is merely a superficial and subjective rating. Comparing students by GPAs is really comparing apples and oranges because they went through different schools, tests, assignments, professors, etc and each of their elements of coursework counted for different percentages towards the final grade. Beyond that, you cannot measure a person's confidence, determination, attention to detail, ability to work in a team based on a subjective rating. Especially since the parameters that define success and hard work in the work environment are entirely different than success in the classroom.
Thank you
Here's my personal experience on "GPA" . It's a lie...simple as that. Here is why, I have a 2.6 right now because I don't cheat. The other students have friends that give them files to answers on homework, exams, and quizzes. I have to figure everything by myself and often pass first time with a B or C and know what going on, whilst the other students make A's and dont know anything! It makes me very angry sometimes cause it's all a lie. The person who cheated would get hired before me and knowing less!! This isn't the case for all high GPA but I know it's for most after all I've seen. Oh! and project classes, many do nothing and pass with A's on the hard work of 1 or 2 people they get grouped with....so not fair!!!
MattyMcCritic Agreed
Good, your on the right track. I know fairness seems like a dying breed nowadays but its better than the alternative. keep at it Hope you suceed.
MattyMcCritic My gpa is a 3.30 currently and a 3.05 overall so it's decent, but idk
This right here. I've been fucked out of curves many times because of 4-5 frat kids that had test banks and got 100s. Which normally results in "Well, they got 100s so why couldn't the rest of you?".
MattyMcCritic that's just an excuse mate
Is it a good reason to say: "It's because I'm stupid"?
gpa doent measure smartnes
I have like a 1.6 GPA atm and my reason was depression and horrible parents
I know this comment is old but my GPA is 1.5 and I too blame it all on my parents lol. What do you think yours did wrong?
same,,
Oh my gosh yes same here, crying ;_;
mine is going to be a 2.6-2.7 at the beginning of my senior year in high school and I'm really bummed out even though I got mostly As and a few Bs this year.
I had rough parents and deep depression too, so I know how difficult life can be. But it is possible to do well with so much on your plate; I'm currently a hs senior with a 98/100 GPA. I used homework and schoolwork as a distraction from everything going on and channeled the negative energy into those works. There are nights where I break down, but I push through it. Trust me, if you really push yourself, whether academically or technically, towards your goals (not dreams, but planned goals), you can achieve them. Start little by little, break the big goals down into little goals, and let yourself be consumed by them so you don't have to pay attention to the external and internal turmoil.
Easy, I come from a broken home and had to overcome sexual, physical, and emotional abuse to just get by during high school. I had to overcome miserable entry level jobs with equivalent staffing because I didnt have the network to find decent work while I sorted out my life and go through therapy and rehab. I proved myself with honors in the military, a decision I had to make to leave a toxic home and upbringing. My gpa from a decade ago doesnt signifiy my character, work ethic, integrity, or any thing other than the adversity I've surmounted to be the person I am today. GPA doesnt measure grit.
This made me cry bro, I'm an Asian guy who lives in Vietnam. I just have 1 years left , my GPA so low 2.04 . I don't know what to do, though I can improve score by studying again subjects which had low score, but I can't make money to do that, my family too. I feel so stupid myself and just wanna die.
@@kikiwonwon29 Just dont quit. Its that easy. Decide to survive.
I have currently 2.2 cgpa in 4 semester and the reason was that I have alot of responsibilities from which I afraid and thus i got into a depression dont know what to do still 2 years to boost up my gpa but I know my situation will not let me do this may God help me
mate I am graduated now with 3.1 gpa currently working as a site engineer also I feel really good now
Man my gpa is really dogshit rn and I’m in my sophomore year and I might fail again😭

@@SOULAANI_ Why do universities apply gpa cgpa rules while schools doesn't have this rule?
My freshman year average was 83.65(i tried to convert it to 4.0 scale but each website gave a different result) because I did not study at all until the end of the second semester. However, in my country, we have a high school entrance exam and I was in the top 0.05%, and I managed to get in to one of the best high schools in my country. It's a really competitive school and I just didn't study, so even if I study really hard now, I won't be able to be in the 5% in my school because people were already studying really hard as freshmen. Will they take this into consideration or will me being in a competitive school not matter at all?
I've family problems and my dad tried me to knock me off from my studies... I was mentally distracted totally from my studies...I was depressed so I couldn't get enough sleep at night that I get fagitue, migrain, low nutretion... So I tried my best to to get average CGPA but I end up with 2.5... How can I explain this to my interview??
Mine is currently a 2.86 and by the end of my junior year it will probably be a 2.9. Unfortunately I won’t get a 3.0 till senior year. By then it will be too late for internships I believe 😭
xxkookiejay I’m going through the same thing
Im going through the same exact thing😭 Im so scared. I just left a bunch of college tours and it opened my eyes like wow i really wanna get into these places but i feel like its too late now because its time to start applying and stuff ugh
I dont think that's too late. Hopefully you are doing beetter now though.
Mine is 1.15 right now im really upset this is my 2nd year .i might not be doing internship of my choice cuz of my gpa

Jessica Corral GPA doesnt really matter. It shows how gifted a person is when they work harder. My GPA is ass because I'm too dumb and not gifted to be in school or in college. ( that's where my depression kicks in) I'm good at other things that I can make alot of money in the real world.
If ur not making money stop saying u can ur just a talentless rat
Sameer Khan that’s mean bruh spread positivity! Jayquan with hard work and dedication anything is possible! Keep your head up and do your thing

Holy shit. Why I'm just now seeing this. I was 24 when I made this comment.

How did it impact your life?
Why universities apply academic warning policy if the student didnt raise his gpa on transcript while on school there is no academic warning policy this is not fair and the universities must apply the same rules as school applies

Bro did you find any job? And how difficult was it?
Some people say that most companies don't ask about GPA. Is that true?
Did you finally find out after 3 years? I read that top companies ask for sure.
What if someone who worked and studied full time in the middle of war against ISIS?
