Ugh, I miss Vietnam; the amount of Dong you need to carry is crazy. I do sort of slightly appreciate their usage of the Dollar (you can pay in dollars). Some countries such as Thailand make you use their currency. I actually did have a haircut in HCMC I think I paid 6 bucks but it was at a high end shop and this was in sometime between 2008-2012.
I saw there were a lot of foreigners had their feet measured for bespoke handmade shoes. in Le Thanh Ton st. District 1 HCM/c several yrs ago. Don't know if the shoe makers are still there on the street just like the barber. Look around that st. for some 3 or 4 boys sitting on small ~1.5 feet high stools busy with 2 or 3 Caucasian expat customers around. It's 500 ish metres upstream 1-wy traffic from Ben Thanh market. There are some proper shoe shop also in Le Thanh Ton street, doing custom made shoes, but at higher price.
It’s so bizarre, he says, “the sun is coming out and I’m sweating” yet I SEE NOTHING. I actually IMMEDIATELY start sweating from the face when I feel hot out of my whole entire body. I’m envious of those who can feel hot, state they’re sweating and show no signs on the face. So envious!
I think the white powder is so your cut hair don’t touch your skin due to sweating. That guy handled the comb and scissors like a ninja. He made you looked handsome there. Always use ‘Anh oi or chi oi’ if they look at least your age out of respect.
jaystreazy next time you should go to the full service salon. And request Nghi, look her up on yt 👍🏽 I’m sure you can find an address on one of the vids
I am glad you didn't get shave your face, beard, and ears with barber sharp razor. You might have hepatitis C (Hep C) for years or even decades without feeling sick. Next time in Vietnam, just get hair cut but don't do anything else. The tools are not sterilizing anyways. Thank you for treating ordinary Vietnamese very well. By the way I am a Vietnamese.
@@jaystreazy Are you planning on going to Eastern Europe? I’d love to see how things are in Serbia, Greece, Bulgaria, and Ukraine… well not Ukraine right now, but maybe in the future? Lol
Haha, for 80k you can get a haircut + hair wash + face massage in a shop near my house (Phu Nhuan). But i'm quite surprised that a street barber knows English (maybe that's why he charges higher). Kinda feeling a bit less proud about my English now.
his hand is very fast
What a professional
The hair cut is looking sharp Jay! Keep Slaying it in Vietnam!
Thank you for the kind compliment!
Just seen the stream can’t believe this guy is gone now! Rip dude! Like for a prayer for his family

I was super sweaty that day as well, so it was needed
Loving this
Really glad you liked it. Much love
Yo, that’s the price of a big barbershop. I think you got scammed.
yeah, if you read the video description I got the "foreigner price" it wasn't worth the time to argue and he let me film anyway so it's all good
Looking good, dude. Not a a bad job for a few dollars. Wish I can get my hair cut.
Yeah, I might even go back there in a few weeks.
Great content 🤙🏽
Appreciate that AJ. Thank you.

Thanks for the tips! I love to meet locals everywhere I go. For me that is the best way to learn about the culture.
They have a new blade change every time they shave

A funny turd with a good heart :)
Agreed! You’re a good dude.
Bro you have such a creepy smile, like it’s almost disturbing. Lol
I am taking this as a compliment lol
I actually think it’s so cute, I’m sure so many people respect him in other countries based off how he smiles.
Did you say 1.9 million dollor for haircut? 😲

Oh wow! What a good deal. Yeah I think I got the "foreigner price" especially toting my camera. It's okay, I had fun either way.
Should have asked him to trim your nose hairs too. 👃
That's a whole other 1 hour video.
You are asking too many questions . Sometimes , the locals don't catch them all or their English is not good enough to answer you
Sometimes I talk a lot. Gotta learn to slow it down at times.
You're not balding yet?!!! You have a 6-inch forehead and a softball-sized flesh yamaka in the back!
you should go get you ear wax removed...tell em it's your first time...don't go too deep...
I am so scared. I have heard horror stories.
