The people who "don't like them" are rigid types who think if you look a certain way you better sound a certain way and/or if you write a catchy melody then it's "not metal!" You know... babies.
I think it was James Hetfield who mentioned liking Ghost - so I checked them out! Thanks, James! A Ghost cover band by school kids - why not!? hell, yes! Releasing the inner demons!?
I think some people can't like music if it doesn't conform to a certain genre - which I think is really limiting. Love Ghost for their diversity, clever songwriting and humour.
Tobias Voice gets better with every new Album that Ghost Puts out. Jut like Lady Gaga her voice just got stronger the older she Got. Ghost is a great band
I think they got so much hates because some haters think they’re “not metal enough” which is so ridiculous. And some hated them because of “satanic”. I absolute love this band. I’m glad I found them. Btw I really love your reaction.
I like the 70's metal feel of the older stuff. There is also a level of cheese built into Ghost which makes it fun. Suggested songs: "Majesty" gives me a Deep Purple vibe. "Ritual" and "Year Zero" are great. "Secular Haze" sounds very unique, circus rock? I went through their first 3 albums having recently discovered them and it gave me a nostalgic feeling, like when I was a teen in the 80's discovering all that great Rock/Metal/Prog Rock from the 70s (I grew up on Sabbath, Zeppelin, Rush, Floyd, Yes, Priest, Maiden, etc...).
Ghost fans are that couple at the end! 😂 Welcome to the Ghost family . Man, I would love to hear your thoughts on another song from the same album - Mummy Dust. It's a pretty good example of how heavy Ghost goes (Faith is another good option). Also, if you don't mind an instrumental piece, Miasma is from the Prequelle album and is great.
For ehat its worth, tegarding the video - the setting is like a achool talent show and the band on stage is actually a bunch of kids. So the corrupted priest reaching out to kids is slightly less creepy because the priest in the video is a kid, BUT... I mean, that is kind of ehat the song is about anyway
I absolutely love the "metal elitists" who have nothing to argue about besides whether something is metal or not, metal core or not, etc. How about just listen to music with an open mind - not sure when it was deemed that the internet was the genre police :D
and for context, I grew up on Metallica, Pantera, Zeppelin, SRV, Floyd, Deep Purple, and then moved into more modern prog/metal. I'm sure elitists today would say that Deep Purple isn't metal...except they were largely responsible for the genre's inception.
Favorite band. Check out square Hammer by Ghost if you get a chance. Also another swedish band that is amazing, check out Pain, a great song by them is called on and on.
The Elitists? Lol. Sounds like a group of super villains from an Avengers movie. I remember the days when I'd strictly listen to thrash metal. I adhered exclusively to Exhorder, Vio-Lence, Nuclear Assault, etc., and couldn't stand anything else. Then my tweens ended. By the time I was twenty, I had artists like Ween, Gang Green, Helloween and Robert Johnson all together in my driving playlists. It gets boring when you listen to such a narrow variety of music. Great video. Just subbed and going to binge the other videos here. Cheers.
This is one of my favs from them! Thank you for reacting to this! Please react to Square Hammer, Ritual, Year Zero, Rats, Miasma, Witch Image, and Jigolo Har Megiddo. Thank you!!!
Heaviest verse I have ever heard in my 54 year old metal upbringing.... Also, I wonder how many that misses that the band on stage are kids, Ghost-kids? :-)
From what I've heard from people who idolize metal music and play sit at the Pinnacle of all musical expression, a few of common complaints pop up. From what I understand, the main issue is that Ghost uses a lot of gimmicks in the music side of things that aren't traditionally metal but appeal to wide audience. If you approach ghost from a metal purist view then you might not have a good time. However, if you approach Ghost with an open mind and you're just willing to enjoy music for the sake of being music then the music is absolutely amazing.
Yeah well, music elitists usually have shitty taste, and use snobbery to try to make the bands they like seem more interesting than they are. Ghost is a good band with catchy songs.

Totally agree.
Ghost is my guilty pleasure 😄
@@PetterVessel I thought that way at first, but actually there's no reason to feel guilty at all.
Exactly. There's people who think that unless the vocals are roaring or shrieking, it's not metal.
I just think it's cheesy unoriginal stuff. I don't hate it, but nothing about their music is interesting or makes me want to keep going back to it.
2016 Grammys winner for best metal performance 🤟👻🤟

Yes and their live concerts have a great 1970s feel to how theatric they are. Like Hawkwind's concerts.
Whats funny is the singer is good at gutural vocals too but the only song of that for ghost is 'mummy dust', but his last band was a death metal band.
You want to see "Hammer Film Vibes" watch their video for their song "Square Hammer"

That couple at the end arent Ghost fans. They're the little boy who's singings parents.
@@xScooterAZx I'm not saying that they are literally Ghost fans, it was an analogy.
@@ddavis538 Ahh. It wasnt clear.
"Ghost fans are that couple at the end!"
Sorry I got it wrong. :}

I love Ghost.
Hope you react to more Ghost. “Square Hammer”, “Call Me Little Sunshine”, “Mary on a Cross”.
Nice reaction!
Some Ghost recommendations for you.
"Year Zero", "Mummy Dust", "Square Hammer".
and Jigolo har megiddo ?
@@PetterVessel yes that too.

I sent this to a friend with text-not all love songs are violins & roses

Cirice is old word for church, by the way.
Awesome 👍. Keep em coming 🤘Try Kaisarion next as i think you're gonna love the Rush part in the middle of the song ♥️
This song is more of a Cult Leader thing not a priest being improper with a child

React to: Call Me Little Sunshine
Thank you Ghost for saving rock from the boring crap that it became.

yeah they are usually into some obscure subgenre that basically just sounds like noise.
The singer is a 15 year old.
What??? He most certainly is not.
The singer in the video. Not Tobias...
