I believe that anyone who thinks they can meet all the other person's needs (or that they potentially could) is heading straight to Relationship Hell. I also believe that Relationship Hell is the destination for anyone who thinks that they SHOULD be able to meet all the other person's needs.
The chances of being absolutely everything someone needs are about the same as me giving birth to a purple filing cabinet while standing on the top of the Eiffel Tower reading Macbeth in Japanese.
If this were a guy-only age 50+ open discussion type forum, I'd gladly tell you a couple of stories from my own marriage which illustrate these facts (only one of which revolves around the subject of 5ex) but it isnt, so I cant, but I'll tell you that tomorrow (May 3) is my 28th wedding anniversary and in spite of my marriage being WILDLY imperfect, 28 years does in itself say something.
Yet another great video from Boswell Studios Inc. When I was a boy, I used to wait (somewhat impatiently) for the next edition of the Batman / Superman / Wonder Woman comic to go on sale. Now, I do the same for episodes of Greg's Pearls of Wisdom. You da man (whatever that means).

Appreciate the great content as always Greg. I think when you finally realize that you can't meet "all their needs" its really a weight off your shoulders. I love your story of asking dad to look at the car, I can't tell you how many times I have gotten defensive over little things like that in my life, looking back now, like you, it's pretty silly, but I guess that's just part of getting a little older and wiser.
