It's so much bull crap that WOTC did that today & I'm so glad I haven't spent much money cause I'd the BANDS. SO TO HELL WITH BUYING MTG. PROXIES 4 LIFE NOW 👍😪
Wizards is not breaking any promises, rosewater said that they are working on another way of adding universets within, not that they are completely discontinuing it, you should read the actual post.
I am in Aus and got in the queue in the middle of the night only to be told that it’s all gone after waiting for 6hrs. Tried doing the right thing…. Proxy it is 👍

wotc literally breaks every promise it makes, just go ask the dnd community about it. They make a promise, then say to themselves "how long until people stop paying enough attention and we can do exactly what we told them we wouldn't "
I remember when Wizards said they wouldn't reprint shocklands after Return to Ravnica, and then they threw them into Dragon's Maze packs just because. They didn't even wait for the block to finish before reprinting them.
I feel you Purp. I got into this game for the Fantasy. I’ve got all the books and the feel of the game is everything to me. Hurts to see so much nonsensical deviation from the source.
There was a guy who bought 5x each of every item, bundle and double bundle. He ended up getting like 25 arcane signets. Idk why it wasn't one per order
You only had to sit around unless you were one of the people that knew about the cart abuse glitch to enter the line before the release time or used a direct url to the cart page to skip the line. Not to mention the people who bought so much stuff they have 19 of the arcane signets.
I still don't get how you can buy 5 bundles of everything _and_ 5 of the individual bundles *_AND_* 5 of each individual drop. LIMIT OF 5 MEANS LIMIT OF 5. f-ing WoTC and Hasn'tbro.
I got in about 15 mins after launch. Got in line around 915 am. Had my phone open on the page until about 4pm. Finally updated to checkout, and all items had been removed from my cart because every single item had sold out.
I was in within a minute of launch. Got stuck in queue then got nothing. On the bright side when I contacted support they gave a cookie cutter response with someone else's name put in...
the Extra Life secret lair was perfect. original print run shipped out right away, print to order for anything during the time. needed to be guaranteed fulfillment for 24 hours at least
I don't understand why the shareholders aren't up in arms because if they did print to order on the universes beyond stuff they would have so many possible new players that could buy it.
Its about scarcity, the shareholder mostly aren't even into boardgaming or tcg, they just want to see money and other polished numbers from their share, thats all. In Fact you're right but thats sadly not what the shareholder look for.
This is why it should be print to demand. Just another reason to stop buying secret lair. Just proxy them. When hasbro doesn’t care about the customer then why care about them.
Most secret lairs are still print to demand, they're just also limited quantity because FOMO sells better. That's why they take ages to ship after you buy them.
Unfortunately, they don't/can't do print to demand with licensed IPs as they likely contract to produce a certain number of them for sale. To the IP rights holder, they are presented as being limited edition collector items. That and it's easier for both sides to do a CBA and contractual agreement based on a finite number of products vs a profit share agreement. Theoretically for consumers, it's "better" too as the product should be ready to ship at purchase vs having to be printed after the fact.
@Viyami You’re telling me they can negotiate a deal with the Tolkien estate (Who are NOTORIOUS for how exacting they are in every usage of the IP that’s attempted to be negotiated) to produce an entire set, but they can’t manage print-to-demand w/ *Marvel* ????
Proxy Vintage Cards for life! They are stepping on a lions tail... there is more than enough out there to be able to play for lifetimes over. I do not need another magic card for the rest of my life anymore. UB is a joke.
Online at 18:00. Queued at 18:03. After half an hour the promo was sold out. After 2 hours it was sold out. Many difficulties logging in I was able to order 2 secret lairs. Conclusion, it was sold out in 3 minutes.
So, many people have problems with Secret Lairs, the quality of the cards are bad, but people keeps buying... WotC will never learn it's lesson if people keeps buying 🤡
if you haven't noticed none of these people care about being abused as customers...they complain for a little bit and say they're done then the next shiny thing comes and they line up as fast as possible
@@antearesgamer So many people have zero thoughts on changes and just go full lizard brain and go hype... not realising that in a couple of years, this game is cooked...
I'm not going to compete against bots for cardboard. A decent printer, quality photo paper, and a little bit of time is all you need. Heck, you can even find foil type materials to print on. 9 cards a sheet! Cut out, adhere to token card, sleeve up and voila!
@@PaulSoileau-g3sthat has nothing to do with secret lairs especially this one. This is commander bait...and don't tel us you play cedh like it's an actual competitive format
Don't even need to buy the printer, there are print shops that will do you professional-quality cards, including with any special effects you might want (special effects WOTC is too cheapskate to put on their real cards), for a fraction of the cost of a printer. Cards indistinguishable from real ones are like 50p each.
Said i got my sets of foils and the promo... was on the edge of my seat for over 2 hours... i guess i was one of the lucky ones.. now i just gotta get them safe and sound in the mail. Bent cards is the next big worry.. I feel for all the people who got screwed over. This is one of the most shockingly horrible ways to try and sell a product. I clicked and was ready to buy instantly. At 11:59:59, i was waiting to click, and soon as it became available, i clicked buy.. then sat there for over 2 hours, waiting to see if i was gonna be disappointed.. that was awful. And im one of the few who got lucky... but i never wanna have to do that again.. fuckin terrible way to run a business and sell goods. And yeah, i had to take a day off for this shit..
@nottalotta15 right. Just like i chose to buy the cards. Just like wotc chose to make the purchasing process unnecessarily time consuming, so much so that i couldnt just place my order and carry on with the rest of my day. Had they not chose to make it so difficult, i wouldnt have had to choose to take the day off. Id assumed that was all implied and common knowledge, but apparently you still needed it broken down for you..
We were 4 different guys getting to queue as soon as the SL opened, only 1 of the 4 managed to get in (and took all our commands) after 2 and half hour of queue while the 4 others got bounce out of the queue and arrived way, WAY after the foil SL were sold out and the special sol rings were all gone. NGL, I almost regret not having double or triple dipped on that thing because it was VERY obvious it would bcome the easiest flip in the world.
The more recent Halloween and Hatsune Miku lair is the only recent one that didn't sell out crazy fast. It actually lasted a good amount of time. Otherwise, WotC has clearly chosen FOMO over customer satisfaction. Which is obnoxious when they're selling functionally uniq cards, like this marvel secret lair. Between this and the 30th anniversary thing, they're effectively encouraging proxies.
They should’ve put you in a queue from the get go instead of messing around adding unavailable products in the cart first- most reputable company’s sites do this, esp for things like ticket sales
they're doing this to make money what did you expect?....wotc to actually sell things fairly first come first serve?...no..they had deals setup beforehand to scalp your a$$es
Speaking of support tickets - just last week they closed mine for the bloomburrow prerelease kit having spanish rares in packs. Swift resolution on that one. Hopefully the reimbursement won't be a traditional WotC bungled mess.
There's a fun rumor floating around: Since the WOTC shop sites weren't produced in-house (they were built by an outside vendor), someone on the vendor side built the exploit bots as a side hustle. The bots exploiting the backend architecture to bypass the queue system would necessarily require that whoever built the bot(s) have knowledge of how the backend works... which is only reasonably possible if it's an inside job. Worse yet, because it's possible that someone in the vendor side may be doing the dirty, WOTC has no real recourse to verify if that's the case without an extensive 3rd-party security audit... which would likely be stonewalled by their vendor.
WotC: Secret lairs aren’t selling well enough, We have to do something!!! Players: Maybe if you reprint more valuable cards instead of expecting selling cards valued cents for 39.99-49.99 usd, maybe…just maybe people would be more willing to spend more in Secret lairs. WotC: Nah, here’s a better idea. Everything is limited and fomo will make people buy more. That way we can offer little reprint value, and maybe throw some UB collab to sweeten the deal.
Wait, so you want them to destroy the value of the few other cards they haven't reprinted already??? You want more value, but you want reprints that will destroy said value? I'm confused.
It's another FU from Wizards... The only ppl that got the Marvel Secret Lairs seem to be reposting them for 3-4x the cost. It sux, but my proxy's still work, even though they are not the real cards, it'll do.
They knew exactly how much they made before they even went on sale lol.. they knew how much of each set they print, what they're selling them for, and that they're going to sell out.
The fact they included entirely new cards in these makes the limited numbers obnoxious. The scalpers were the only winners here, but at least proxies are an option.
Do you remember the waiting 3-6 months to receive your Lairs? Awful. That's not a better solution. The actual solution is for Wizards to get much better at determining how many Lairs they need to print to keep them in stock at least a full day or two. Going back to waiting months for Lairs is terrible.
Something that's crazy and more upsetting then people realize is you had this in your cart and were told you were in queue to checkout.... Imagine a physical store and your in line with your items in hand waiting to leave and the guy at the front of the line was like I need 5 times more so they grabbed it from your hand and took it while you were waiting in line to accommodate the person in front of you checking out. Then did it on and on down the line until the majority of the line had it taken right out of their hands to appease the first few people.....after waiting 4-6 hours of course. Crazy
When the the Godzilla skinned cards I thought they were very cool, in no small part because they recognized Magic as the primary reference. Subsequent UW cards do *not* do this. For example, the UB Stranger Things card "Eleven, the Mage" is the primary reference for the UW "Cecily, Haunted Mage". Had *every* UB card been treated as the foreign property it is, I doubt nearly as many people would be upset about it.
No one should buy from scalpers. Let them eat it and lose their shirts. I saved $300 from it being sold out. I prolly wasn't going to use anything from there anyway. So gratz on them for losing so much money because they were money hungry. FOMO was literally in their nightmare set. It's not something that makes people feel good about your product
You can only buy from people who actually have the product, and if the demand was so high that outside people got into it because of the obvious value, how is that demand going to just go away? If you wanted the Lairs you still want the Lairs and there is only one way to get them. And if you buy a Lair even with the intent to keep and its doubles in price instantly, is it crazy to sell it? I don't think so.
i am just going to get proxies because i hate the FOMO. what is wrong with print to order? and they jacked up the prices for each version by ten bucks. why?
The fact that Marvel is such a recognized brand, in spite of the quality taking a nose dive, is an argument against FOMO being necessary. I don't see any way this wouldn't have sold well for them.
@@Mirthful_Midori Yeah, I agree. I kind of understand making limited runs of some of the other SL which would have less interest. But a Marvel set including some of people's favorite characters with brand new cards, not just reskins? They should have printed a veritable horde.
I got in line at 12:02 pm EST, just 2 minutes after the launch. It was not until 3 PM that I was able to make a purchase, by that time the lair I wanted was sold out.
I was there. It was dumb as a rotten tomato. Only good thing - the queue makes a noise when it's almost finished so I at least could do other things while waiting for hours.
So I was happy that I got the heroic bundle after 3:30 hours of waiting and stressing, but then did not get the arcane signet. Already signed into my account. Even though I literally checked out within 5 F'ING SECONDS. Clicked add to cart immediately as soon as it popped up, then check out. 5 SECONDS. But for some reason did not get the arcane signet. Hmmmmmmm.. F you WOTC.
I was in that waiting room just seconds after it went live. By the time I got to the checkout, half of the stuff was sold out. Bots were out in force today.
Wouldn't it be wild if the bots were owned by a WOTC proxy or subdivision of Hasbro or something and intentionally did this so they could scalp their own products on other websites? Pure conjecture, for the record 😉
I got in the queue around 12:15 est. It wasnt working before that or i would have been in sooner. I waited in line until after 5pm to get in to the sale. Of course my cart was empty and the only thing for sale was the non foil black panther drop. After 2 i knew i wasnt going to get anything i wanted so I just stayed in line to see how bad it was.
Yea, I literally was there at 11:50 signed in to my account, 11:59 quickly added 1 to my cart, went to pay and was already in a several hour queue. Then website went down for hot minute. It eventually came back up but it kept telling me I'd be able to check out in 20 minutes, then it would be an hour wait, then 5 minutes, 57 minutes, etc etc. I eventually got one, but it took 2 hours. This is a problem every major release cause the website can't seem to maintain the amount of traffic the website gets during these limited time releases. If making money is the goal, just go back to print to demand and let everyone get one or multiples if they wish. All it really is is headlines for CEOs to be able to say, "hey we sold that product out in minutes. "
The blame also falls on the content creators who have championed these terrible decisions and have helped contribute to the overall decay of the game itself. If UB is the curse, those content creators are Queen Gohma. “Despite Link’s efforts to defeat the monster within the tree, the curse had already done irreversible damage, leading to the tree’s death.”
no one held a gn to anyone's head to buy anything...stoopid people deserve to have their money burned especially with this kind of blatant anti-consumer/anti-customer behavior that has been going on for almost a decade now
I waited 1.5hrs and finally was able to get it, two of my friends weren’t so lucky, it sold out fully in 6hrs with the bundles being under an hr, I don’t mind ub but when it was once a year and not standard legal, looking at 2025 and the lineup they have is just depressing
My bestie sat in the queue for that 4 n a half hrs getting notification after notification that things were selling out n by the time he got to pay, only the Ironman n Black Panther lairs were left n Black panther was the only lair he didn't want since it didn't synergize or fit into the colurs of the others. He wanted to make a Storm EDH with no cards that have storm on their own but still run a storm deck, n both Wolverine n Ironman fit into her colours even if not into her themes. But really the thing he wanted the most was Cap n Ironman to make an EDH with Cap as the general n Tony in the 99 cuz he is just an amazing tutor for a deck built around Cap. So at least he got the Ironman one, n Tony is his favourite out of those 5 characters but Cap was the deck he wanted to build the most, n Storm was the card he thought was the coolest of them all. He was hella disappointed but still grateful he got anything. He was 1 of those people who took time off work, lying to his boss about having an appointment n that he would be there at 1pm instead of noon cuz the sales started st noon our time, no idea if he missed the whole shift or somehow continued it all thru his phone, cuz he seemed pretty pissed n I didn't wanna drudge thru it while it is a fresh wound. But now, hearing that the bots got thru n skipped the queue is extra annoying n I'm hoping he never finds that out cuz that will make him so much more upset. F!ck WotC
Logged in at 11:45am EST. Went right to the Astonishing bundle and pressed F5 exactly at 12:00pm. Clicked immediately at checkout and waited until 12:06pm when the paused happened. Started playing my phone game until the queue started again. Started at over an hour and then my time steadily went down to purchase. 1:16pm, finished my purchase and then went on my day. :)
Noon? I live in the same city, and I was in queue at 11am. It says right on your screen shot that it’s more than an hour. So they set the right expectation. Anyway, it was 4 hours to the minute that I was able to get in the queue, deal with the error on the site, and check out my order. When I got to the check out, a couple of the foil sets were sold out. Had zero issue. But, lots of drama on the internet from the people that couldn’t make the time, or were never going to buy these cards but still want to talk about it. Oh, and yes. Someone posted a link on Reddit to skip the line up. I assume that would have been someone in Wotc that may have to have a talking to.
OH hey, I helped kickstart the sponsor. it's a fun game indeed. also, I had a 4.5 hour wait from the time I tried to checkout. still miffed about that edit: it's hard to sell out instantly when no one can even buy the damn thingwhen they press the checkout button
It is like WOTC isn't just trying to get people to quit, but like they are trying to make enemies. As you said, they could have just done print-to-order and celebrated those numbers. But they chose a path to enrage people beyond reason.
I’m beyond furious at how long I waited for the drop on my phone, just to find out the foil wolverine bundle sold out. If I lived near WOTC I’d be picketing a building tomorrow.
Apparently you could put other products in your cart at 8:45, go to the checkout before the sale...you then have 20 minutes, add the marvels in another window at 9 and refresh your first cart, drop the other products (or buy them, these probably were for charity at least)-- line skipped. Wizards can tell which of those carts started before 9 and revoke all of those sales. They also should give the promo to everyone to makeup for allowing such scams punish people that played fairly. But will they? Probably not.
I work 3rd, so I was at home at the time this went live. I clicked "add to cart" and check out within probably 5 seconds of it going live. After the technical difficulties I waited in line for 2 hours. I was able to get what I wanted...I was nervous the whole time. If I would have stayed up for 4 hours...I probably would be on a witch hunt right now.
im actually DONE. im so sick of the crap. I waited in que for 4 HOURS, only to find my cart had nothing in it by the time I got to checkout! IRL if someone takes something out of your cart you wont stand in line for another 3 hours. Literally WAITED 4 HOURS of my life..... my last secret lair was festival in a box and the mystery boosters were undraftable. (secret lair support ghosted me).. im ghosting hasbro. no more new magic. no more anything modern. selling everything that isnt my commander decks and reserved list. P.S. ive been considering leaving magic for several years now.
I already did that I got burned out awhile ago. Sold off my collection, kept a couple copies of the commander staples and a few others. Kept four commander decks and that’s it
UB coming to Standard was my final straw. I was already at my limit with so many things, but if I see the Green Goblin riding a Chocobo hitting me for lethal I WILL become the Joker. I'm done with Magic.
Flesh and Blood is a better game anyways. No mana hosing/flooding, no turns where you do absolutely nothing except draw and pass (usually), and NO DUMBASS UNIVERSES BEYOND
I literally selected one non foil bundle to get everything at exactly the time I was supposed to, at work, immediately got in a queue, waited over 4 hours for my single selection to be removed from my cart and having to individually select the non foil bundles that were left. No wonder hasbros projections show mtg not lasting. They’re doing everything to drive away the people that have loved the game for awhile and discourage any new growth.
Such bs, i was online right at 12 sharp in my cart and ready to checkout by 12:01. 12:06 the site went down and took an hour to get back up and running. I waited in queue to check out until 4pm when i got the message it was sold out. Im about done with magic completely
It's not just this! This was just the " straw that broke the camels back " I've been pulling back for over a year now. I've got my 4 commander decks and friends that play...good enough for me now
Magic has an investor shelf life of the early 2030's apparently. They don't need to worry about it anymore; they'll bail around then, what's left will live or die, and that'll be that. And so long as they double the profits every year on the year inbetween the people who mattered win, right *shrugs in apathy*?
@berndlippert5453 during the afterward of the investor meetings & such there is economic speculation from said investors. During the last big one (yearly? call) or some such they predicted MtG being played out by that time frame. I.E. when you dump what you've pumped.
Well thanks for answering me yesterday, great video as always but yea not having in universe cards for all these 1 time only cards is unbelievably annoying. Because just like this marvel one i dont have time to sit and wait for them so at least getting in universe ones was a possibility
I'm still trying to get wotc support to fix the problems I had with my Cabaretti Cacophony commander deck from New Capenna (multiple unplayable, damaged cards in the box). Best of luck to anyone trying to get more recent issues sorted out.
Got in the queue as soon as it went live, was able to buy 45 mins later, decided against it. Wobbled again later in the evening, got my phone out again got right back into the queue and to the store real fast, again stick to my guns about not buying them because of how it was carved up so cynically. There's a lot of talk about how bad it is, but nobody is talking about how it is deliberately set up to allow the scalpers to get the way they do, so you can post a huge profit and return and get solid gold figures for the board and investors. They actually love the scalper situation, it's literally their best case outcome, because they get to point to scalper prices when they do pricing structures for the inevitable reprint sets.
if i remember correctly, Secretversary 2023 was the last Secret Lair product WotC did before now allowing the Extra Life Secret Lairs to be "print to demand." i say all secret lair product after Secretversary 2023 is "unofficial and worthless." Maybe put in "except the Extra Life Secret Lair."
Yup, waited 6 hours in the que. As soon as it was available i jumped in . Just to have it tell me 6 hours later everything was sold out. Thank you Wizards for a fantastic day.
You hit the nail on the head with the "Scalpers" comment. Essentially that's what the majority of "Collectors" are in this game. Speculation is good for the game economy, I suppose, but it's terrible for the thing the game was actually invented for (Being played). Wizards and Hasbro need to take a long hard look at Pokemon, which is a game with excellent participation, and a decent economy too, with the upside of the game being accessible for 2 digit dollars, as opposed to three to four.
Sadly, this is one of the reason why I stop. I'm tryed so hard to get some secret layer. But magic knows people are out there ready to buy out everything.
It was a mess. The second it went live I added a foil bundle. I wanted one maybe two, at least it was enough to get the promo. It then went the the login or guest page. I clicked login. 30 seconds or so later I get an error like page. I push back then click guest. I got in line. Minutes later the line paused for like 30 minutes, so it seemed, maybe longer. During this time I might have closed the tab on my phone. Anyway I got back in line, maybe I was in the same place. I finally got through the line 3 hours and 11 minutes. By that time foil bundle was gone. Promo was gone. Storm foil was gone and even Wolverine foil said was gone. Everything at the time I was checking out it said temporarily unavailable. So I said screw it and picked one of every non foil plus an extra Storm. The non foil bundle was unavailable. After I checked out the Wolverine foil came back for a little while.
I watched the countdown to launch and hit buy the moment it was available. I couldn't get in line for 20 minutes and then spend the next 5 hours in line for everything to be sold out. How can a company so bent on making as much money as possible leave so much on the table?
@@gozolveThat logic doesn't track. SL are not interchangeable and interest in one has no effect on another. Not printing enough IS money left on the table. They don't reprint SL cards, bud.
Yknow what would be a good idea for an actually fantastical-themed set? A return to Theros where some of the planeswalkers/popular characters we know and love all ended up after taking an Omenpath. They get captured by the people of Theros and are forced into a tournament or colosseum type gauntlet or whatever and have to fight for survival, or maybe they anger the gods or whatever. Call it Theros: Wrath of the Titans/Gods or Gladiators of Theros.
I wasxin the que 10 minutes after launch because I work a day job and can't just sit by waiting. I spent 5 hours in the que only for my cart to be empty by the time I got through. It was so disheartening seeing the updates of more and more selling out as I waited over the 5 hours. I only wanted a single nonfoil copy of 2 of them, but at this pointcim never ordering a secret lair ever again. It was a miserable experience. Never had this issue when it was print to demand
You can thank Jake & Joel are Magic for showing the link that people skipped the line to get the product. I've never wanted to beat a Magic community members ass so bad in my entire life. I'd let them both fight me at the same time honestly. Wasted my God damn entire day. I despise them.
There's a little bit of misinformation going around, when I got to the checkout, I too was timed out immediately, I thought I had to go into the queue again, however, when I went to put something in my basket, it said and went checkout, I wasn't put back in the queue and could checkout immediately. I think the time out appears on the screen when the item you wanted sells out before you get there, but you could still buy something else. It's very misleading
what's even crazier is that they would sell more if they just did print to demand. especially for the marvel cards. They have no idea what they're doing
It's pretty strange considering they had to know there would be massive demand. New cards, not just new art, in a SL almost always do. A lot of the sets they were doing back when it was print to demand just didn't have much that people cared about. So the sales weren't good. Only thing I can think of is WotC, or maybe it is better to say Hasbro, is trying to create as much FOMO as possible.
I really wanted Wolverine. I got on right at 9 and didn't get to process my order until 1:30. I was able to snag non foil BP and Iron Man so I guess that's better then nothing , but yeah I was pissed.
Was there on time but couldn't lock in for half an hour. Then I was in a stopped queue. Then over an hour waiting time. Then the signet was sold out, then 3 and a half hour after the start, I still wasn't done with the queue, but what I wanted was already listed as sold out.
I got mine. I waited up all night watching from 11:50 until it opened the site at 8:45 and added my one item to the cart and checked out in maybe 30 seconds then I waited until 11:30 when I got my turn. Don't know if I got the extra card or not
It's not just bots skipping the que. You can do it as well. It's not hard to find. I googled, "How did people skip the secret lair line." I didn't do it myself. Just found out about after the fact.
Hello from Germany ^^ Punched the buybutton the second the Sell started and had to wait over 4 1/2 hours. After that time the product i selectet was removed and i could choose between the last 4 products available nothing from what i had chosen before.
Some people bought those secret lair products. You really can't move on from MTG and Hasbro, don't you? You love Hasbro so much more than your dignity. Think about it.

I gave up on Secret Lairs with the Monty Python debacle.
You only had to sit around unless you were one of the people that knew about the cart abuse glitch to enter the line before the release time or used a direct url to the cart page to skip the line. Not to mention the people who bought so much stuff they have 19 of the arcane signets.

6 hrs of waiting in queue for sweet nothing… my bones hurt..!!!
Glad to see another lost soul in the comments. Waste of my time, and I like Secret lair!
You waited 6 hours
as long as there are people waiting 6 hours for painted cardboard, wizards will not change anything
I got in about 15 mins after launch. Got in line around 915 am. Had my phone open on the page until about 4pm. Finally updated to checkout, and all items had been removed from my cart because every single item had sold out.
Same
Same thing happened to me.
The Advertisement I was shown before this video was for the "Fuck It" 2025 calandar.... Yup... thats about right for MTG... fuck 2025...
I feel the same way
The scalpers win again. I was in line, 3hours later it said everything I had in cart was sold out.
Mechanically unique cards should always be printed to demand. To do otherwise is as good as endorsing proxies.
@viyami They've done print to demand with licensed cards in the past. I can't think of any reason it shouldn't be possible to do so again.
Yeah it was a shitshow, I managed to get the Lairs I wanted but I feel bad about those who were in queue and didn't get theirs.
I think i got mine only cause I played it safe grabbed only the storm foil rather than spending extra time to grab the other 2 i kinda wanting

I sat on that queue for 5:20 hrs and when let me in nothing was on my cart, but you’ll see a ton of scalpers with full boxes
You literally mentioned the best place to do these universes within cards, SPECIAL GUESTS! because they literally are SPECIAL GUESTS!

I'm not going to compete against bots for cardboard. A decent printer, quality photo paper, and a little bit of time is all you need. Heck, you can even find foil type materials to print on. 9 cards a sheet! Cut out, adhere to token card, sleeve up and voila!

Don't even need to buy the printer, there are print shops that will do you professional-quality cards, including with any special effects you might want (special effects WOTC is too cheapskate to put on their real cards), for a fraction of the cost of a printer. Cards indistinguishable from real ones are like 50p each.

I dont even try with Secret Lairs anymore lost interest with the Monty Python fiasco
Wotc breaks promise
Yeah they always do. The fact that anyone still gives them money baffles me.
They missed a golden opportunity by not making this print to demand. "Why did we not make more money than we expected?" 🤪
They knew exactly how much they made before they even went on sale lol.. they knew how much of each set they print, what they're selling them for, and that they're going to sell out.
@@IXIAnarchistIXII'm just saying they would have made . . . *vastly* more money than this if they had done it print to demand.
@@sergeiyamagoro431 because they have someone manipulating things to profit for themselves on the 2ndary market on the inside
I got in line 1 minute after it went live and after hours of waiting it eventually sold out by the time I was able to checkout. WTF!! My bones hurt. 🥴
well now you can go toss your money into the ebay fire lol
No one should buy from scalpers. Let them eat it and lose their shirts.
I saved $300 from it being sold out. I prolly wasn't going to use anything from there anyway. So gratz on them for losing so much money because they were money hungry. FOMO was literally in their nightmare set. It's not something that makes people feel good about your product
@nottalotta15 yeah. People need to stop being stupid. If they wait a few months, the scalpers would have to lower their price
@nottalotta15 you are right. Idiocracy and Demolition Man are 2 of my favorite documentaries lol
The scalpers literally are selling out on TCG. Lol
@captswol1877 yup, the stupid people are incentivising them to keep scalping.
Shameful on both parties
i am just going to get proxies because i hate the FOMO. what is wrong with print to order? and they jacked up the prices for each version by ten bucks. why?
Do you really need to ask?
Print to order = No FOMO
Jack up the price for marvel: Because They Could.
why? Becaus FUGIBMEMUHKNEE that's why!

@jeremymoore-j4t wow 😲 that sucks man, sorry to hear.
I was there. It was dumb as a rotten tomato. Only good thing - the queue makes a noise when it's almost finished so I at least could do other things while waiting for hours.
It still sold out. Hasbro's reaction: "Keep this up, they're buying everything we make!"
All I really wanted was Captain America, looks like I'll save $40. The queue maybe moved 20% in 45 minutes. I closed my browser after that.
F!ck WotC

also, I had a 4.5 hour wait from the time I tried to checkout. still miffed about that

It's cool you got the Doomlings sponsorship. I might have to pick myself up some shiny cardboard that they printed enough of.

Magic has an investor shelf life of the early 2030's apparently. They don't need to worry about it anymore; they'll bail around then, what's left will live or die, and that'll be that. And so long as they double the profits every year on the year inbetween the people who mattered win, right *shrugs in apathy*?
What do you mean and where do you get your info on this "shelf life"?
@berndlippert5453 during the afterward of the investor meetings & such there is economic speculation from said investors. During the last big one (yearly? call) or some such they predicted MtG being played out by that time frame. I.E. when you dump what you've pumped.
Well thanks for answering me yesterday, great video as always but yea not having in universe cards for all these 1 time only cards is unbelievably annoying. Because just like this marvel one i dont have time to sit and wait for them so at least getting in universe ones was a possibility

Because it guarantees future chumps throw every thing at the next FOMO event.

Nothing here either gang, so sorry to all others who went away empty handed...

You can thank Jake & Joel are Magic for showing the link that people skipped the line to get the product. I've never wanted to beat a Magic community members ass so bad in my entire life. I'd let them both fight me at the same time honestly. Wasted my God damn entire day. I despise them.

Commanders Quarters published a nice pdf with high-res universes within versions.
I like how Hasbro looks at M:tag and thinks,: >
That's ... The opposite of wisdom
Hello from Germany ^^ Punched the buybutton the second the Sell started and had to wait over 4 1/2 hours. After that time the product i selectet was removed and i could choose between the last 4 products available nothing from what i had chosen before.
It would update and change tome backwards as well. I watched mine say my turn would be at 10:30 but then it updated and just said more than an hour.
Some people bought those secret lair products. You really can't move on from MTG and Hasbro, don't you? You love Hasbro so much more than your dignity. Think about it.
