- Police are closing in on the convicted killer who’s evading capture. There are roadblocks everywhere with police stopping and searching hundreds of vehicles for Danelo Cavalcante. He escaped from the Chester County Jail a week after being sentenced to life without parole for stabbing his girlfriend to death. Inside Edition’s Steven Fabian has more.
The prison he was being kept at needs some serious renovations if some other guy escaped the EXACT same way Cavalcante did. Anyone in Pennsylvania, stay safe, lock your doors, and take the police's words seriously. If you see him, *DIAL 911 IMMEDIATELY.* Don't confront him.
Especially if he managed to Walk across two buildings on top of the roof.

im not rooting for him in any way, but it's impressive to be on the run for 7 days with that amount of attention from multiple police agencies, drones, helicopters, k9, roadblocks..etc

The crab walk up the wall was insane. He must have been doing handstand pushups for months just to get ready for that moment. He may be an evil bastard that sucks at life but he's definitely not without a skillset.

@@zaraloveskoda I mean it's like a 280lb bodybuilder doing pull ups vs a 100lb gymnast. The gymnast will destroy the bodybuilder in that sort of body weight exercise. Also, it's a lot easier to crab walk like that if your body fits into that space without having to bend your knees too far. I used to do that in doorways as a kid. No way I'd be able to now. Anyway, they said the guy was sentenced a week ago, so most likely he just got assigned at this location. He wouldn't have been training for it. Just saw an opportunity and probably heard the story of the last guy.

If you find it incredible that he has been on the run for all this time, I suggest you look for a guy named Lázaro Barbosa. He spent 20 days evading the police in the forests of central Brazil. When he was located, they fired 40 warning shots at him...
But you can't compare the Brazilian police with the U.S. so for this guy is more impressive with all the recourse that we have he still on the run

Since he escaped the same way, if he injured/ kills anyone a good lawyer could get a MASSIVE settlement due to negligence for the victim/ victims family.

It seems like a joke that a brazilian has escaped like this from a maximum security prison in the US. In Brazil I would go out the front door because in Brazil the law is very fragile. They allow well-behaved detainees, after a couple of years, to leave on holidays and return the next day. It's not a joke.

The big part was due to the failure of the guards to stay awake and do their jobs.

Because the dogs passed out due to heat stroke and drones can’t see inside buildings or at night without special cameras. Dude is hiding in buildings during the day and traveling only at night thermal imaging doesn’t work during a heat wave

Ultimately, it's the guard's fault. It is the single, most important job he had, and he failed. Who could have predicted another prisoner would escape the same way during a heatwave? But to your point, they now have to put some sort of deterrent on the roof.
