  • Hello, my dear viewers and subscribers !
Apologizing for two weeks out of work for the channel, I was on vacation, sometimes it is really necessary to relax a bit and to "shift the picture".
Today's video is much dedicated to the engine's sound, so we'll evaluate the ring exhaust system in comparison with general open exhaust.
I also decide to improve my video stories with thermal video, it really gives an ability to control and to compare engine's temperature, especially, heads and cylinder assemblies. So, lets watch the whole story, better to say, let's hear the whole story.
Definitely, it would be interesting, what type of exhaust sound you will like more!
Thank you for watching and have a nice day !
    With best regards from ‪@crazyengines88‬

I really like the sound of the stock pipes, but the ring exhaust sounds incredibly realistic and as you mentioned, it controls the oil spray. That would be a great engine for a P47.

Thanks for the video, but please be careful when you walk past that spinning propeller!

Thank you very much for your comment ! I'm taking a lot of attention neat working engine. The prop ends were specially painted in yellow, to show me the prop spinning area. Additionally, it looks much cooler, than simple unpainted prop.
Thank you and have a bice day !

    Such a cool engine,
There is a guy that runs the asp version on gas in a fw190 30cc airframe..and they are an awesome engine 👏

Thank you very much for your comment ! That's interesting, really. I can imagine, how much work this conversion was consumed. I'm not sure, that I know ASP FS 400 AR so good, to convert it into gas & spark ignition. I still doesn't understand ASP engine in general, in contra with OS FR 5 300. The feeling, that this two engines are very much different despite of it's serious construction similarity from the point of view of engine operation behavior, is very strong. Based on my experience with the both engines on the bench, definitely, I'll choose OS version, as more predictable and definite engine. ASP isn't being my favorite radials, unfortunately... later, probably, I'll evaluate the reason. why. I think, that increasing of the engine's displacement in ASP version doesn't means, that everything else, (timings, etc.) was correctly transformed / transferred from 300's engines displacement structure into 400 displacement class. Something was missed. Apologizing for so much words...

@crazyengines88 not my radial engine of course,
The asp come along much cheaper than a Japanese brand,so gives the ability for such conversions to happen, my challenge at the moment is the asp ft160 gas conversion using a saito gas carburettor its all most running perfectly,
Asp fs120 and also a fs91 are converted using saito fg carburettor the singles run perfectly

@@danielhitchens4407 Thank you for your reply, it's very interesting info about engines conversion. Do you have some experience with Walbro style carbs ? I'm awaiting for the few of them, also, for the conversion purposes.
Thank you a lot for the information !

Thank you for your comment ! Definitely, agreed with you. Open exhaust looks cooler, especially, with a rich fuel mix, but model and all around doesn't looks so nice :-) due to the oil spay all over...
      Thank you !
