Without a doubt, THE best Marillion album of the Steve Hogarth era. Been a fan since "Script..." as well as Fish's solo efforts. Both are highly underrated as Steve Rothery has to be THE most underrated guitarist. Admire how Marillion never "Sold Out" like U2 for example. Saw the FEAR Tour in Chicago last fall. Excellent show at great venue. Shame Marillion do not tour the states that often. Both Marillion & Fish deserve more radio exposure. Both camps are far superior to the crap that is aired today.

I don't get how you can say that. I'd take Afraid of Sunlight or Seasons End or Marbles over a hundred of albums like this one and the last one. The lyric quality has deteriorated fatally. Everything is so literal and on the nose, there is no poetry. The music lacks the subtlety and emotional range and dynamics of their earlier work. Like compare this musically to Out of This World or Beyond You.

Steve G. no I did not I wanted to but I work at IHOP and financially just couldn't afford it but it's okay because my soul still feels their music deeper than ever maybe someday it will be in the Stars I'll be able to experience seeing these amazing artist play live but for now I'm just thankful that they press on continuing to make awesome music

Saw them for the first time in 1986 w/Fish as the specially invited guests of Rush. Seeing them perform "Misplaced Childhood" was incredible! Great live band and personally prefer Marillion over U2. Hopefully you can get to to see them one day soon but I agree wholeheartedly with your comments...phenomenal band all around! I will say it again and again....UNDERRATED!!

Marillion have been the best neo-prog, rock/pop band around for years. Unfortunately, too much underrated for music press critics since Steve joined the band in ´89, but the truth is, FEAR finally shown them that the band are alive and kicking, and if you need proves of that, just remember The Guardian album review with 5 stars and the Royal Albert Hall concert scheduled for 2017 ;)

Je les AIME ++++ J'aime tous leurs albums, surtout depuis que Steve Hogarth chante dans ce groupe. I'm sorry, but it is not. The best with H are Brave and Marbles.
Brave is my favourite, so deep and moving.
Plus there's something so off about the synth in this song, it's all discords and uncomfortable.

Hogarth a vraiment apporté un grand changement dans les mélodies et l'interprétation, pour moi c'est un des meilleurs chanteurs de ce siècle
