Great overview of this park. Important info re poor cell service...thanks for providing that. I like how you make you way around including on the trails, to provide the overview. I don't provide park reviews per se, but do provide hiking and paddling trips in Parks and elsewhere, on our Channel. This was very helpful. Thank you...we're heading to Charleston Lake this spring.

Ok it's settled, I HAVE to get a site next camping season and try this park. It was always booked up this past summer, and now I know why.

Thanks for this. We haven’t been there yet we’re booked in early 2020 but COVID closed the parks.
Sturgeon lake also has fish cleaning.

Definitely recommend this park, the sandstone island trail is amazing and exploring the lake by kayak, Canoe or SUP is great

Hi Sander. Love your videos. We watch every one when they come out. We went to Charleston this past summer and loved it too. It feels like we could go again and do completely different activities. If you had to choose one for a four or five day trip, would you choose Charleston or Murphy's Point?

Thank you so much. Excellent question, we did both since they are within an hour drive. Both Parks have great, yet different features. If you are into kayaking/canoeing, I would suggest Charleston Lake, Murphy's point (hog Bay) is nice too for this, but Charleston Lake is a nicer lake with rocks, islands etc. on the flipside, Murphy's point has an old mica mine, old homesteads you can explore and you can see a rat Snake up close. Charleston has nicer hiking trails compared to Murphy's Point. Murphy's point has a nicer playground, if there are any smaller kids and is closer to town for groceries (and/or a trip to the distillery/brewery). Whatever you decide, I feel you can't go wrong with either park and you will have a great time!

@@OntarioCamping Thanks so much for the advice. Sounds like we have a tough decision on our hands! 😀. Good thing we have a couple months to decide!
