- In July 2008 the International trombone Ensemble, a group formed by ex students of my school, the Rotterdam Conservatory, made a tour to Japan. Most of these players, play now in major orchestras in Europe.
In this clip you will hear:
Frank Kramer, Quirijn van den Bijlaard, Martin Schippers, Jaume Gavilan Agullo, Eloy Panizo Padron, Bart Claessens, Tomer Maschkowski.
The ensembles website is at:

This tour was organized in Memory of the late "Hiro Suzuki" a former student of mine in Rotterdam who passed away in June 2007.
Both Jorgen van reijen and myself were guest solists during this event.

ITEの皆様も最高です
I've forever enjoyed Van Dijk's playing. And this clip reaffirms that once again.
I love this piece. That pedal D in the glisses at the end gets me every time, though. And it's interesting to see how Dijk plays the cadenza. Im not sure if I like all of his interpretation, but it is amazing, nonetheless.
Ben!! You are the best!
Fantastic sound! Love a good bass trombone. Especially an amazing one like him. I love both playing and listening to them. Such a good sound
Fantastic!!!
XD my eyes literally got bigger @ 7:28!!!!
amazing... got this on my ipod along with my amberlin and 3 days grace !!! XD
I like the rock star ending that Ben added to the end with the quick horn off the face!
EXCELLENT INSTRUMENT and EXCELLENTE M. BEN VAN DIJK. YES, YES, YES ... VERI GOOD JOB.
Now I want to switch to Bass...I'm first but I love so much Bass Trombone !
FANTASTIC sir BEN VAN DIJK
what an amazing piece of work
Geweldig !!
The video is pretty quiet, I have to turn up my volume pretty high to be able to hear the quiet sections.
this is perfect ensemble work!!
amazing!
Crazy
Maestro! muy bien tocado!
What model Bass trombone is that. I never seen one made like that. I thought it was a contra at first.
very good
perfeito
Yeah, there were some small intonation problems that seemed to last for the entire first movement. They all got fixed in the slow movement and it seemed perfect after that.
you have a keen ear. Notice how there is no problem at all in the technical passages? Bass trombone has to cover a huge range of articulation weights, and phrase types. It is difficult even on the best days to meet your own standards at them all at once.
where can i find this piece ?
Haha; That was really cool :)
whats the name of this peice
don't know what you've been smoking, but it sounded amazing to me
I understand the soloist is really excellent and far better than me at bass bone, but did anyone else find the beginning of his notes to be really sharp?
ate que tocam alguma coisa boa rsrsr...
Thein :)
Great! but looks like Ben left his F tuning slide a bit far out this gig :P
Yes, I hear it too. Even the best trombonists can have trouble tuning. But it's still a great performance, no?
Or maybe the whole ensemble is flat. ;)
