    Hello there is two brands of this model, there’s a Nolan version which is the same as this. Is Nolan trusted/the same as X-Lite?

    Which modular helmet is best, this or the C4 Pro? Thank you for this road test! Keep up the good work!

      As far as performance goes, the Schuberth C4 Pro performed best out on our road test. However, as far as safety, the X-Lite does suggest a stronger set of specs since the helmet's predecessor (the X-1004) earned 4/5 stars from SHARP while remaining shut in 100% of tests. In contrast, the C4 earned 3/5 stars and remained shut in 100% of tests.

    Now this is a review! great video. How does the x1005 compare to the HJC Rpha90 S Carbon?

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  3 роки тому

      Thanks for the feedback! Compared to the X1005, the HJC RPHA 90S Carbon does offer a stronger noise isolation and weight performance. Other than this, the two helmets offer very similar on-road performance as far as ventilation and visor features.

      Thanks for the feedback! The helmet is glasses compatible and since it is modular, it will fit frames both easily and comfortably.

    Great helmet really look forward to wear it! Does the X1004 visor still fit the X1005?

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  3 роки тому

      Great to hear! Unfortunately, the visor mechanisms of the X1004 and X1005 have been changed which means that they are not compatible. While the X1004 used a central button release, the X1005 uses a lever quick release, which does make removal both quicker and easier.

    how come X1005 Carbon helmet heaver than Neotec2? don't get it. Seems N100-5 Plus more worth it since weight not much different

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  3 роки тому +1

      Though the X-1005 Ultra Carbon is made of carbon fiber it does still come in slightly heavier than the Neotec 2 in a size M. This may be a result of the more complicated internal mechanism of the dual action chin bar and the spring loaded sun visor. Most likely, the devil is in the details.
      However, it is possible to have a heavy carbon fiber helmet, it is interesting to note that the Shoei X-Spirit 3 also comes in lighter than the AGV Pista GP RR, which is also carbon fiber.
      The N100-5 Plus is also a solid helmet and though it comes in slightly below the X-Lite in performance, it is well-respected and we've also road tested it here: ua-cam.com/video/JZPFiNirPGU/v-deo.html
      Thanks for the question!
      Besides weight, what are your thoughts on the X-Lite helmet?

    Hi! I can't believe a carbon helmet weighing more than 1700 grams. Is it a production helmet? what size? Thx

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  3 роки тому +1

      Hi! 1700 grams is actually a decent weight for a modular helmet and to keep our comparison fair we always measure the helmet in a size M.
      Looking at other top modular helmets such as the Shoei Neotec 2, they also come in close to this weight, while other modular helmets such as the Nolan N100-5 Plus actually come in around 1760 grams. Modular helmets often come out heavier due to the added weight of the chin bar mechanisms as well as a greater number of touring features.
      Thanks for the question!
      What are your thoughts on the X-1005 Ultra Carbon?

      @@Championhelmets I think it's a great helmet, which has managed to improve the X-1004 in most aspects, but within the high-end helmet range, it doesn't stand out at all. It is neither the quietest, nor the most ventilated, nor the lightest. On the positive side, it is probably easier to install a third-party intercom more easily than any other helmet from its competitors.

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  3 роки тому

      That's fair enough, and looking at the road test results some of the performance standards are not quite on the level of some of our other helmets. Nonetheless, what we found stood out was the much safer dual-action opening system, which gives the helmet an advantage over others in this segment.
      That's also a good point, besides the HJC RPHA 90S, the X-Lite would be the best option for mounting a non-specific comms. system.
      Thanks for the reply!
