This is my #1 WEIRD Hobby that's NOT Photography

- The daily vlogs continue with a slightly different take on life in Hamburg. The weather has been so good the last few days I had to take advantage by getting in a round of Disc Golf at the HSV Volkspark.
Disc Golf is by far my #1 hobby/sport addiction. For the last 5 years it's been a big part of my free time and mental health therapy. This is the perfect activity to help clear your mind, get outside, stay active and have fun. & it's usually free! You have to buy the discs, but the activity itself is almost always free to play.
I'm a member of the HSV Disc Golf club here in Hamburg and hope to compete in a few local German Tournaments throughout the summer.

This is a bit different from photography but daily vlogs demand diversity. Tomorrow's video is back to photos with 'How to Photograph your Pregnant Girlfriend' 🙂
Make sure you get a release or she will use it against you sometime in the future😉
Very cool Greg! Come visit Mölln, a city near Hamburg! We also have a disc golf course (a smaller one with 9 holes), beautiful landscapes (a lot of lakes) and an old town center! Worth a visit and perfect to combine photography and disc golf!
@@julianhoffmann4483 Julian how's it going man? Yes this sounds like an awesome idea!! I could take a couple trains or possibly even a bus. Looks like it'd be about an hour and 30min. Not bad. Thanks for the idea!!
@@gregsnell It's going great, thank you! It's almost 1 hour by train from Hamburg Main station or 45 minutes by bus from Wandsbek-Markt. Totally worth a whole day trip :)
I appreciate your dedication,; rain, snow, or shine you're out there. And, it's Frisbee golf.
Brightens my day up look forward to the next day, if you stop I will be sad......😊👍🏻
There is no doubt that your photography energy has increased since you set yourself your daily goal. Congratulations. Keep vloging.-Elaine
Love disk golf. Its great exercise, relaxing and it gets you outdoors.
I really like the daily vlogs. As I said a few days ago it is like a tour of Hamburg and area while we can't travel now. And Greg...you still a kid at heart!! As for hobbies...travel, photography and I started getting back into ultrarunning after a break of 4 years.
I like this kind of short daily vlogs as I mentioned some days ago. Its fresh and full of positive spirit in this times.
When it comes to hobby I do combining two: Diving and Photography. Although landscapes and outdoors are my actual motives I can't wait getting into water again.
I enjoy these vlogs Greg, not just for photography. Today i felt i had played Disc golf. I'm going to miss these daily vlogs, but you can't do them indefinitely. stay mate.
Keep the daily's. Been really enjoying them! We did have a 9 hole disc golf in my home town but it closed before covid. Was a good laugh!
I started disc golf in the mid 80s after retiring from beach volleyball. I continue to enjoy disc golf today in my early 60s. A GREAT lifetime sport! 🥏 I also shoot Hasselblad 500 cm, Sony a9 & Canon 5D Classic. I subscribed to your channel from F4 Road trip. Enjoying your channel.
I‘m learning a lot of interesting things about Hamburg, I like your video style, very entertaining.
Hobbies, climbing, riverboarding, skiing. Good job that you still like disc golf. I could never keep it going after trying for awhile.
I like the daily vlogs. My family lives in Budapest and I live in Chicago. I haven't been able to see them since the pandemic started, so any videos of life in Europe are very welcome.
Senor Snell your vlogs are great! Carry on! Don't stop. They are short and to the point so that's good.
I like the format. My hobbies are gardening for butterflies so I can take pictures of them and handspinng (making yarn from wool.)
Great variations of photography, so many different tips, all most welcome. Eh my memories of Hamburg are all of the Reeperbahn!!
Diggin the daily VLOG. I know it takes alot of time and effort but have enjoyed every VLOG. Great job
I need your daily Vlog, don't stop it :)
Greg, I've really noticed your increased enthusiasm as your daily vlogs progress. Loved the architectural shots! Cheers from Vancouver!
Greg, keep the daily vlogs going very entertaining and informative. While in lockdown they are a must watch, helps to break up my day.
I am definitely enjoying these daily vlogs. I hope you will keep them going even after your birthday. You are certainly coming up with lots of variety.
Format works a happy presenter makes it
Busy I am so watching three vlogs b2b. Not getting reminders I assume the algorithm but not a problem for me and good your getting positive comments 🙏
Hobby has to be photography and the drone combined with a lot of walking.
Age is only a number and a mind concept 😊
Hi Greg. I'm enjoying the daily vlogs. Hobbies - waterskiing and kayaking. interesting to see the variety of responses you've gotten on that topic.
Been terrible ...
Nahh, only kidding, always enjoyable watching your blogs Greg.
Hobbies, I play bowls when we were able to and did a bit of archery, but photography is the main passion 👍
You do a good job with your daily vlogs, i'll miss them
I have never tried disc golf before, but there are a lot of disc golf courses out here in Michigan! I've been really enjoying the daily vlogs so far! One thing I really like is how much variety there is with each video so that it is not the same thing every day.
Fun video, that looks very hard, good content as always. I am sitting eating lunch near Jasper and photographing a pair of coyetes that provide lots of entertainment. Next stop overnight at the ice fields. Stay safe mom and dad to be.
What a sheltered life I lead , I had never heard of disc golf ! When I looked it up in the UK, there are around 16 shown on the map. I used to play golf - 14 handicap , not in the same league as Nick Page - hes pro level , almost ! Love the daily blogs , its great to see around the place where you live. Main hobbies are going to football ,travelling and landscape photography , I made the exit from wedding photography about a year before all the restrictions came in - phew.
I really enjoyed the vlogs so far. To see how other progress helps me to stay motivated for my own photography.
I played Beachvolleyball until I injured my shoulder. After a surgery I watched all the Thomas Heaton videos and there my passion for landscapes started. Now while my shoulder is still not good enough for Beachvolleyball landscape photography + my UA-cam channel is my hobby #1. I like how it turned out so far, I think it was destiny :)
I will miss the vlogs!
Regards
Stefan
I enjoy them too, love how unafraid Greg is to talk in the city to the camera, the landscape photographers always complain that they are shy :)
Yes!! Real life!
Let's goo!! 🙂👍
Love the daily's man...keep it up
We've got Disc golf AND Football Golf here in St Austell! lol to be honest the real sport round here is Pasty eating and Emmett baiting. Keep 'em up Greg. I knew nothing about Hamburg apart from the Reeperbahn and not even much that before these Vlogs.
I love it! Keep it going. I love photography as it is not my main job. I am a teacher by trade so it would be my escape.
I like the daily vlogs.
Hi Greg,
Loving the daily vlogs at the moment. Would be great to maybe stretch them out a bit further, but I expect that you may eventually get a bit burnt out doing them and trying to find new things to vlog.
Keep them going maybe as long as you’re feeling inspired to do them, but as soon as it starts to get stale for you, stop and do something different. The algorithm may not like it, but the faithful followers will appreciate the content more if it’s what you want to do.
You will soon find out, like I did, that once you have children, your hobbies involve chasing toddlers, and “clubs” like dancing, gymnastics, etc. Those are my hobbies now, aside from photography- taking pictures of the child! 😉
Good luck with it!
Andrew
Truly interesting ...now I got an idea of how a disc golf course is shaped ...like your vlogs a lot . Amazing how you get around in Hamburg ...💪🏽..as a sort of local I am impressed how you made it all the way to the sunset Köhlbrand bridge yes’day and today go the opposite way .
Bundle of positive energy you are . Looking forward to taking you to another pro soccer game , even though HSV are struggling a lot to go back to first league . Actually the best 11 disc golfers of HSV would do a better job I assume ...
No. 1 hobby ....watching your daily shows and shots . Keep going Greg ! 🪨🦬🏃🏻♂️⚽️
All I gotta say is, keep on rockin stay blessed !
Coole Sache ! Ich habe das vorher noch nie gesehen , richtig cool
🙌💪🙏👍
My non-photography hobbies: Bodybuilding (I'm not that big, but I'm stronger than I look and I've been at it for 50 years) and "real" golf, at which I suck except for putting. I'll have to try disc golf one day. I mostly use an underhand bowling flick stroke (that's the best way to describe it).
Great video! What are the rules? Walk us through a game - the challenges, your tricks, what you admire in the excellent players. I want to learn more!
Nice one on the two full weeks! Been good to watch! 👍
I liked this one! I have a single disc and have been out at a few of the courses we have set up here in Vancouver, there are quite a few public parks that have courses!
I'd never heard about disc golf before I saw you play here on your channel, but it looks like a lot of fun!
I love all kinds of sports besides photography, especially ice hockey, skiing and snowboarding.
Also I really enjoy this loose topic, short video format daily vlog, and it looks like you do to! :)
Hi Greg, I'm really enjoying your daily vlog series. I like the variety as well, not everything has to be photography related to be enjoyable. I found you through Brendan's channel originally and I have also enjoyed his vlogs about setting up the coffee studio. Your daily vlog series have been quite inspiring to me and motivated me to get out and explore locally to see what the possibilities are and try to make some images. My other hobby, aside from photography is field archery which gets me out to some great locations around Europe and fuels my passion for the outdoors. Just wish I didn't have to do #dayjob to support my hobbies :)
Hey Greg, I have really appreciated the time and effort you've put into these. The format is good, in my mind it does not always have to be about photography. The length is spot on too. I also like that you are showing the city there. Shows you don't always have to go to some epic spot to make interesting art. I hope if you have the time and inclination you keep making these every so often after the 30 days. I need an extra hobby, have played disc golf twice a few years ago. That looks like a winner. hope like heck we can get back to travel which i guess is a hobby too. Thanks - tim
I really been liking the daily vlogs, must be hard work fitting it all in I'm sure, hopefully it's serving a purpose for you , keeping you motivated and maybe even plays to the algorithm a little. Disc golf looks like great fun. My hobby is photography as my day job is a train driver , going in and out London most days. Also enjoy mountain bike on occasions , and walking whenever we get a chance . Hopefully normality will return soon , until then stay safe .
You have used the Vlog to stimulate your creative juices, and lo, it has had the same effect on me. Please keep up the good work and I check daily for the next posting.
I play frizzby with my kids a lot in the park, would love to try a proper disc golf course one day, need to google if there are any around here. Daily vlog going great , keep them coming👍🏻
I’ve
loved the vlog glad to see the content..
Greg, where is the coolest Disc Golf course that you have played? I love the slow-mo footage in this video. Your daily vlogs are actually helping me to keep motivated about getting out there. My hobbies are woodworking and hiking. Stay Safe.
I have some discs and play every now and then, but not really good at it. Same thing with mountain biking.
Back in the day we'd play Frisbee. This predated disc golf. Won't say by how much...... :^) Second try at college it was boomarangs. Naturally fooseball was my main "sport", and for the head - chess. Never did learn how to throw a disc with the thumb and finger. Looked cool - couldn't do it.
Saw the motorcycle in the parking lot behind you and thought "cool! he's gonna do motorcycles!" but had to check myself. :^D I do that again too. Looks like fun though.
I like the daily vlog
Your vlogs are very enjoyable to watch. Your upbeat spirit shines through even when you feel like you have to work at the vlogs. Maybe Little Miss Sunshine is contagious?😉
I was so early, i got the UA-cam notification when I was half way through the Video
I'm enjoying the daily photo vlogs it's a great idea, but totally understand that doing this every day can be demanding, monotonous and a lot of work. You have to do whats best for you. Daily vloggers are becoming like the Dodo bird and it's totally understandable., burn out is real. 🔥😖Only hobbies I have now are cycling and drinking beer, but not at the same time🚲🍺😋
Lets gooo! 🤙
Love the daily’s! Short and engaging-its great
Love the variety in these short and sweet daily vlogs that are well-produced, educational and entertaining. I guess I have to admit that viewing yours and others has become yet another 'hobby' of sorts! I need more hours in each day!
Have liked the format. You've had a good variety of subjects and that has been enjoyable to watch. Anything that can get you outside to enjoy the earth is a good thing. Cheers dude.
Nice job with the vlogs Greg. I enjoy watching your videos always. I do some Disk golf also. It is very popular here in Finland... as you might know.? There are over 10 DG parks around the city of Tampere where I live. Competitions are held every week during the summer.
Yes Finland is a dream destination. My buddy Kimmo in Berlin is a disc golfer from Finland and we've had some great rounds here in DE.
I'm really enjoying your daily vlogs. My photography is mostly a love of landscape with a little bit of wildlife but the variety of content in these videos has inspired me to consider trying something new. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
It's look like a former vlog years ago. 👍
you are a very personable vlogger. i like to watch your videos. just keep it up
And my hobby is work in the gym
Really enjoying the vlogs photography and lifestyle. Disc golf looks fun! Never seen it before you introduced it. How many countries have disc golf courses? I'm a sport scientist so love all sports so it's a hobby as well. Photography only just started getting interested in a few years ago so I consider myself a beginner 🙂 keep up the good work.
I didn´t know that disc golf was a material sport. Why so many different discs?
Yeah, photographing is of course a hobby of mine but also my BMW r1200r and the season is soon here.😊 Last year Harz trip was cancelled maybe this autumn instead. I must do a photographing trip to this place without the bike, it is so beautiful there. For you guys it´s 2 1/2 hour trip if you havn´t been there.
Yes, I like this daily vlog. It is fun to see different parts of Hamburg.
Sorry I don't do negative comments,😆 if I don't like the video I stop it and move onto something else.
My Hobby outside of photography, I love taking walks in the local parks and the local Botanic Garden, LOL if you look at my Instagram a lot of my recent posts are from the California Botanic Garden.
I need to get back to the Street and Urban photography and maybe do a video I'm overdue for one.
That looks like a very relaxing sport, if we had this in Greece i would definitely give it a try.....
Disc golf looks like a good exercise in the lockdown, I play golf, photography, long-distance walking, use to climb mountains but too old now, traveling lot of traveling when the lockdown allows
Great vlogs. I need to catch up with the ones I have missed. I want to know how many people you have hit when playing. The course in Harrogate, you would be hitting every other dog walker.
Welcome back. Almost one which was super scary. I'm very careful now though. Be nice to have a dedicated course someday.
Really enjoying the daily vlogs as its a chance to see something different and a place I have not seen much of before. In terms of the Disc Golf, do you use different discs and if so is there any difference in their weight and can you change them between throws if you use different discs. Only ever seen this on your channel and looks fun
Would love to try this but football is still pretty big in Hamburg... check out a team called St. Pauli, they have a cult like following and a skull and crossbones as their crest!! Kick arse!! Cheers Jase
Awesome branding eh.
@@gregsnell it’s brilliant, seen them play a few times and the crowd in phenomenal!! Such an amazing vibe.
Where is all the snow?
Cool blog Greg.. I knew nothing about disc golf.. they have just one up outside our hockey club in NZ. Are there different weighted discs? Keep the blogs going!
Is the little ballerina leg lift a requirement for disc throwing? 😜
Still enjoying the videos mate, I’m considering a similar task but we’ll see.
Congrats Greg. Why dont you extend your daily vlogs 'til you enter the book of worldrecords?
Hobbies: Photography and Gaming
Daily blog... great but can you do this for the whole year... my hobbies... I dance.. Modern Jive but not during covid.. you could say I'm a dancing photographer... My channel is called "Photographic Jive" but nothing is posted yet
Dude! You could have gotten this video to 10 mins if you explained disc golf a bit more.
I might have to keep a few discs with me if I start traveling again. Great for days off.
No. 1 Hobby, definitely photography, other then that, nothing really. 😅
