I built my own y drops. I loved it so much I did it twice. Our sands will only hold 100 lbs n at a time. It goes pretty fast. I used corn sweetener as a stabilizer and drag about 6 in of hose on the ground to keep splash down. Splitting n applications raised my yields quite a bit. You guys just keep in trying new things and I love it.
I made my applicator (it's an Adam's like y'all used) in to a y-drop. Built them myself no fancy but been running them for 3 years now. I run 28-0-0-5 with some sugar and a few other things. I like Roberts logic. If you can grow a decent crop in a bad year you are doing something right.
We did some last year on our 6700. Took some pieces of hard plastic and bolted them on to the booms and ran the hose down them and kept the spray nozzle attached it works pretty good
I bought a 280 hagie last week main reason it had y drops with it and couldn’t buy a sidedress bar for what the whole thing cost good luck with your drops planning on giving mine a try this week
Man yeah, ingenuity working amazing!! Sounds like some pennies on the dollar savings there😁 Enjoyed hearing Roberts thoughts on the benefits of all this and future thoughts as well!! I could you seemed wore out there at the end, but looking fwd to seeing the results!!; Thank you both for bringing us along, look fwd to seeing what's next!! 😁😁😁🌾🌾🌾🌾🚜🚜🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍
AHH GUYS 7000$$😂😂. Don’t have tell about filling up every 14 to 15 ac,just did 1400 ac with a 420 gal coup 😂😂. We use a 24 inch quick couple drop with 2” flat hose about 24 inches also attached with 2 zip ties so it want slip off the end of the drop. Just go on and use the rest of your booms. 👍 Thanks guys!
This corn had 80 units of pre-plant urea. We are looking at running 2x2 Nitrogen off the planter next year. I think we will get a lot more benefit from it in a band next to the row.
Good luck side dressing your corn guys

That's the plans for this winter is to make our own y-drop system.
ripping normally will carry the corn a extra week to 10 days in our area williamsburg va....
We didn't use the pvc but we added a little weight to the bottom of the hose.(used 3/4" bolt) PVC looks good though
Great video

Epic, is your boom plumbed on 15" or 20" centers
We're on 15" Centers.
Did this work for ya'll? I know it was last year but just wondered.
Yes it worked very well.
If you were putting nitrogen granules on corn how much do you put
350 lbs/ac
How did you hook the pvc to the boom.and what did you hook the hose to .like to make something like it.thanks❤
We drilled a hole in the pvc and then wired it to the boom.
