I love that this final season was all about Mob growing up as a character. Also this is a little detail but notice how Mob was able to make a public speech to his club? I felt proud.
Second one two, final season continue the growing up and ending turning in a New Mob
Despite Reigen's seeming practicality, it never fails to amaze me how he just completely disregards his own well-being at times. The whole "taking his shoes off" thing was actually handled in a more solemn way in the manga, implying that Reigen was very well aware that there was a very good chance he would've died in his attempts to go after Mob. His words later, "this is the real me", are a nice call-back to 2x07; he uses the same phrasing as in the end of the separation arc when Mob told him he's a good person.
The transition between Tsubomi's earlier and current designs at 4:20 was so well-done, too; we finally got to see her without Mob's filter this season.
The rock at 5:10 was much bigger than in the manga though :"D It's kind of funny, cause at the premiere of episode 12 Hasui-san (the director) mentioned that One-sensei asked not to make the final arc look too brutal in the anime. Ig Bones decided to let loose a bit on Reigen x) Hasui-san also mentioned that playing 99 was suggested by one of the producers, and Tachikawa-san (chief director) liked to idea, so they rolled with it.
Dimple is mp100's cockroach :"D Survives no matter what. Secchan, Mob's seiyuu, mentioned how Dimple surprisingly Always comes in clutch.
In the manga it was mentioned how one of the reasons Body Improvement club got more members is because Mob made it seem like anyone could join, even without being too athletic :")
At 17:03 Ritsu was just reminded of his first meeting with Teru!
And as for the final sequence, I like the manga version a bit better, cause not only did [Mob] save the cake, he actually noticeable flung it right into Reigen's face xD While it's not Awfully clear, I like to think that Mob did it, which goes to show that while he stays true to himself in believing that psychic powers aren't necessary to live, trying to nurture other things within him, when opportunity presents itself, he uses them - and not out of necessity too, but just to have fun!
One-sensei was always planning on ending the series with Mob laughing and said that, to his surprise, drawing that came very naturally to him, but Secchan actually had trouble recording the laughter cause he's not too good at it, so Ritsu's seiyuu stayed behind with him to help and give him pointers!
Wow, sorry for such a long comment, but the finale really gave me so much life. Thanks a lot for reacting to this show, been a great ride! There's a spin-off that could potentially be made into an OVA, which we all collectively hope for now~

Some fans say in Japanese culture people take off their shoes when they commit suicide,so Reigen was ready to die for Mob when he took off his shoes.
The Ritsu part with the wind was a reference to Teru & Ritsu's first meeting in season 1. The joke back then was that he was wearing a wig while in this episode it's his actual hair.
My take on Mob not using his powers was that while he's accepted his powers, they don't define him. It's also implied it was Mob who caught the cake and let Reigen fall into it. In the manga, the cake flew into Reigen's face after it fell & it's implied Mob did it as a joke lol

His other half wasnt exactly his powers it was his emotions. Him joining with his other half means he freely feels emotions now rather than being stunted until he explodes at 100%
It's both since his powers kinda stem from his emotions as well.
mob not using his powers to save the cat is him accepting the side of himself that wants to be more than just his powers, that has been the goal since season 1, that how i saw it anyway, and i like to think he stopped the cake at the end lol

In the original Japanese audio, he says "ojama shimasu" (A greeting given to a person when entering the home of someone other than oneself).
In other words, at this point, we know from this line alone that Mob is not Reigen's assistant.
If Mob were his assistant, I believe he would have greeted him in a more casual manner.
It is interesting how such a single line alone can express the passage of time and the change in relationship.

Not only that, but it’s funny that when you think about it being a nod to Reigan, that it only goes to 99, he has no powers, he’s not superhuman he can’t go 100% crazy like mob and Ritsu can, but he can give it all he’s got, and it’s almost enough. Reigan is the Goat man

That one part was a callback to when Ritsu first encountered Teru. A gust of wind almost blew his wig off in S1, but this time the gust of wind wasn't an issue because it's his real hair. A "full circle" moment for Teru's hair 😅
The translation is a bit weird with Dimple's line (crunchyroll slacking it seems), making it confusing as to how he came back so I'm going to try to clear that up. Dimple was able to be revived because Mob never stopped thinking about him. Remember, the existence of spirits can come to be as a result of the collective consciousness of human beings, such as the dragger in season 2. Mob was probably the only person thinking of Dimple as much as he did, but since Mob is so powerful, that was enough to tether Dimple's existence to Mob. When Mob went berserk and unleashed so much power, the spiral of energy was able to restore more of Dimple's existence, allowing him the means to materialize and meet up with Reigen. All of this is to say that the main reason Dimple survived is because Mob loved him so much; that's literally what it comes down to
I feel like Tsubomi (Mob's crush) is aware that he was going to confess so she stayed and be honest with him too, despite the rejection she now contacts him often. Meaning there's a chance for them too reconcile as friends, and even possible someday even more.
This isn't the first time Dimple was revived, it happened already at s1 when Teru exorcized him(where the Unknown Percentage was firstly introduced).
The Dragger of S2 and Psycho Helmet God was born from the energy of collective belief of people. But with the unknown percentage power/energy, it's no problem to revive Dimple, except that this time Mob is greatly attached more to Dimple making Dimple powerful enough to hold the unstoppable powers of the unknown percentage.
Also that Teru wig scene was a reference to Ritsu first meeting Teru with 150% top hair. Ritsu was cocky at that time(Teru with falling wig allowed Ritsu to escape) and Teru was just starting it in a new light that scene.... And the fact that lately Ritsu found Teru fully naked and bald from Mob calamity.

Beautiful ending 😭. Mob finally accepted himself and can express him emotions now, first time he laughs all happy like that, previously he just had the dead pan face permanently to suppress his emotions and power.
Okay here's some tidbits to help clarify the ending:
1.Mob repressing his powers resulted in him shutting down his emotion, he could always use his powers casually throughout the show but because it's tied to his emotion, he bottles up everything inside out of fear and trauma. The ending shows Mob now freely laughing and emoting, showing that he no longer fears his powers.
2. The thing with Teru's wig flashback that perhaps wasn't clear, Teru was actually wearing a wig the whole time and it blew off during the fight with ??? Mob. In the manga it shows the wig flying off. So now we know this time it's his real hair.
i mean it was very very clear, idk why everyone seems to forget he didn't have hair?? like when i saw this episode i literally cried in happiness like imagine how happy Teru must have been to have grown hair again lol

I think the way I read the powers situation is that yes he has accepted his powers but in the finale we showed that his power side also accepted just being 'normal' so it's just a case of him being content in being like everyone else. Also he needed a new pole climbing PR for his body improvement program.

So it seems like Mob is not using his powers for "trivial" stuff anymore like for example rescuing a cat when he can do it also without using his powers - he finally fully has embraced all of his 2 halves and using them accordingly depending on the situations
Ritsu thought Teru had a new wig like in season 1 but it seems it was confirmed to be his new hair cause it withstood the wind, or he used super glue, poor Teru he probably has hair trauma now cause Mob.
Yeah, This final arc is about to accept yourself in a nutshell. I'm with Lindsay's opinion, both Mobs have to accept the other side. The "bad" Mob isn't his power only, he is his main emotions, therefore in the end Mob laught carefree openly.
In the manga its alot clearer that it was mob who slams the cake into reigans face, showing that he has accepted his powers, and showing that he now has a sense of humour

If it helps at all in the web series, they do specifically point out Mob is the one that used his powers to nab the cake. (Also in the web series Reigen doesn't fall, Mob literally pies him in the face with it for a laugh)
The thing is, what Kageyama suppressed, what his original persona represented, wasn't just his powers. Or even primarily his powers. Mob suppressed his feelings in order to control his powers. *That* was the part of him that took control. All of his internal feelings. So when he doesn’t use his powers when he doesn't have to now, he's not repressing them, he's just not using them. Shigeo accepted the part of himself that decided he wanted to be able to improve without relying on them, accepted Mob, after all. The real sign that he's changed is the fact that this is the first time we've ever seen him laugh. Mob accepted the part of himself that wanted to be free to feel without having to worry about what happens, accepted Shigeo.
This show helped me grow up. Thank you Mob and Reigen, you will be missed.

With high school, all you need to do is get into the best one you can, since they don't really specialize. And since Tsubomi has great grades, I think it's find to aim to get into the same school as her.
@@ZioComposite yeah. The whole point of this episode was to show that Mob didn't need to change himself to be accepted by Tsubomi. Trying to get into the same school just to be with her wouldn't make much sense for his character. He shouldn't "aim" to get into the same school. Instead, he should do his own thing at his own pace, while still keeping contact with her. Which is what he did.
And I'm sure he would be more than fine with Tsubomi and him staying as friends, too. Because he's matured enough.
The lyrics of the first opening are Reigen's final lesson to Mob. The mangaka had planned this ending for all this time.

I am pretty sure Mob was the one who stopped the cake. I feel like Mob doesn't use his powers if he doesn't need or want to. Since both "Shigeo" and "Mob" became "one" both values are valid. There's no reason to surpress his desires and powers, but that also doesn't mean he HAS to use them and rely on them. He wants to live normally just like everyone else. As Mob said he was out of shape because he relied on his powers. So now he uses them more freely, but avoids depending on them. If he could get the cat down without his powers he'll do it. If he can't catch the cake in time he's gonna use his powers. Just how if you can get a taxi to get somewhere, doesn't mean you have to. You'd get it if you didn't have time, but if you had plenty you could just choose to walk instead. It's not a case of "I'll use the powers or I won't", it's "I'll used the powers AND I won't"

17:13 what happoened there was a refeerence to the other seasons, where teru had his wig on and when the wind blew he protected the wig. the whole 3 season is COSTATLY a reference to the first 2 season. trust me, search online and ther will be a lot of shots FUCKING EQUAL to the other seasons

I like how Mob casually levels a city (possibly with hundreds to thousands of casualties and injured with whatever the cost of property damage he did) and nearly murdered his close friends and acquaintances. If this series was just less wholesome, getting rejected by your crush is the least of your concerns my boy, you'd celebrate Reigen's birthday in the SCP foundation.
