Hello from Trinidad. Love to watch your videos and learn so much from them. Here we have what we commonly call small leaf thyme , my neighbour has about 8 of them lining his walkway for over 10 years. They are about 3 feet tall. So it seems some varieties live very long.
just as a note: in the last several years breeders have been able to increase the cold hardiness of Rosemary. when i was younger, no way a rosemary even survived to zone 7 overwinter on the east coast... then we got the first "hardy" rosemary... JUST BARELY hardy to zone 7 if you coddled it. then we got "hardy to zone 7, 6 in a mild winter, as long as you shelter it from wind i am informed that they now have reliably hardy in sheltered from wind areas in zone 6...
I though the same as you, but a plant I bought last year died here in zone 7. I kept it between a shed and a fence, well protected. Also I bought it from a local nursery and our winter was pretty decent !
The dogs rule your house and the Sage plants LOL they are right with you, they love you.
