Very inspiring!! I turn 47 next month and it's been 2 years since I started skating again after more than 20 without stopping. That background music brings back so many memories.
I’ve watched this channel for a month. Been off the board for 12 years. An injury ended it for me back then but you’ve inspired me to hop back on and give it another go!
So cool. The main goal of posting video of me skating again at age 55 was to inspire you, and now your comment inspires me to push harder. There is something special about skateboarding that feeds the soul, that even with the occasional injury, bleeding and pain it is still worth it. I hope you do ride again and feel the goodness. Be cool. Bryan
Grow up with a fine spine ramp and this brought back memories. None available around here that I know of and I really miss it. Some good concrete parks have been built though. Started skating again at the age of 40. Been watching your videos for a while they got recommended to me in my feed. Your doing great and show good progression keep it up! Greetings from Sweden 🛹
Thanks Daniel. I wish I videoed more of my progression from when I rekindled this passion. Seven months ago I was much sketchier and not doing half of what I do now, so I can feel it, but when I post videos now I feel like I do the same old stuff. It means a lot to me to hear that you can see some progression. And this spine ramp is fun but still a little scary for me. It is 4 feet tall with 6 foot tranny so it is a little steep and tall for an old man, but my son loved it. I think if an old guy were to build a mini, it would have 6.5 foot tranny and 3' 8" high and maybe add a 10 inch extension on each side (16 feet wide with the extensions taking up 4 feet on the end). We have so many parks out here in Colorado that build a ramp is really a luxury and not a necessity like it was in the 1980s and 90s. Be cool. Bryan
Omg!!! FABULOUS! BOTH AWESOME AMAZING SK8ERS! WOW! I am 65, & sk8 but not ramps ....just the streets of DTLA (downtown Los Angeles) omg u both are THE BEST!!!!❤💙💜❌⭕
Channel got shadow banned last November. I have still been skating. Broke my tail bone about 11 moths ago too, but not as bad a break as when I did it snowboarding 4 years ago. Channel was blocked for 11 months, but shit is up now. I have a few new videos and more coming. be cool.
you remind me of the locals at my park when it had an awesome mini ramp. both you guys have zero hesitation on tricks and a powerful style. it's also funny to see the black dog running down the steps in a few shots like he's having a session too.
Thanks. Matt has zero hesitation, me on the other hand sometimes allow my thoughts to get in the way, but I am still trying to overcome and feel the goodness that is skateboarding. I love that you noticed the dog having his own K9 session. Be cool.
Is that the Grim Reaper on your forehead!? I feel ya, man. I’ll be 55 in a couple of months! I need Alleve just to make breakfast. Dig your ferocious style! Alba-esque, I dare say. Put a rail along the top of that fence.
LOL--I think it is one of the Globe logos. It is a Globe hat my son got in one of the prize packs from a skateboard contest 10 or 15 years ago. As far a pain meds, I can relate to that, as long as we don't fry our liver. I live in pain, and have come to recognize that pain will not kill me; it may slow me down occasionally, but we've got to keep moving. Thanks for the props and for watching. Hope to more uploaded soon. Bryan
Thanks. I am not sure how all that music stuff works. So are you saying if someone is playing music in the background during a skate session that I can't post videos anymore, or does UA-cam just make it that particular video cannot be monetized, or does the whole channel get demonized? Sorry to sound so dumb about this, but I am curious. Thanks. Bryan
@@OGskater I'm not too sure on the details myself but there are definitely videos explaining it better than I can. To my knowledge, if the video gets flagged it gets demonetized. If you get multiple copyright strikes on your channel it could affect the monetization of your channel as a whole and even lead to suspension if you get enough strikes( to my knowledge.) We would all be bunmed if that happened to you.
Thanks Rudy. That is interesting. I appreciate the feedback. I feel like my age is one of the differentiators from all the other skate videos out there. It seems like there is a ton of feedback from older skaters and people returning to skating as their kids get into it and they seem to relate to the age thing. I figured that if I made age more of an identifier, it may cause other older skaters to feel more comfortable, and it may give hope to younger skaters that are thinking that they may have to give it up when they turn 50. I am just an average skater, so the appeal is kind of a sideshow curiosity in that I am a 55 year old grandfather. Some of the other guys I skate with are older too and they are pretty good skaters, so again letting other older skaters know that they can get off the couch and skate is kind if the message. I suppose I should just be a better skater in general and the age thing can take a backseat, but until I can be that good, I may still let people know my age as way to inspire. The other thing is that on UA-cam, you need a title that catches people's attention. Hopefully I can upload some rad video where age is not an issue. Thanks for your feedback and thanks for watching. Bryan

Rad session. I picked it back up again about 4 1/2 years ago when my son started getting into skating. Keep ripping!

damn that ramp looks smooth AF. Have not riden one like that in like 15years, the city went full concrete only 😭

What kind of wood is that ramp made of ?
Is it waterproof ?
Gator Skins. Kind of like Skate Lite. Water resistant and pretty durable in general.

The music is TOS you're going to get a copyright strike and demonetized be careful we want to keep seeing your content.

I dig your skating and vids but I want to quit watching bc you put so much emphasis on your age. lol no offense meant, just giving honest feedback
