- Amur tiger cubs at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium got to meet the media today. The cubs are 8 weeks old.
Amur tigers are the largest cats in the world, with some weighing nearly 600 pounds. They have been described as possessing all the agility and athleticism of a house cat, but on a frame the size of an industrial refrigerator. They once roamed an area ranging from Siberia to Northern China, but today live almost exclusively in the Amur region of Eastern Russia.
