@@thoro1932 They are supposed to be a *happy couple* regardless of what Ryan Condom and Sarah Mess say. In the books, Halaena is described as a loving mother and joyful person. I don't think she'd be like that in a sad marriage, especially till Jaehaerys's death cuz Aegon II seems to be a nice guy (at least better than Rhaenyra).

My interpretation is Aegon never wanted to marry his sister because their personalities are so different to be a couple. Aegon is definitely not a loyal partner but I think he cared for helaena as a brother. Helaena being the happy mother in the book makes sense because Viserys cared for her and used to play with his grandchildren. @Papaty25
@@Loki-g3k Aegon II was too young (15yo) to make any decision. Before he knew it, he had 3 kids with Halaena. Alicent is supposed to be a great mom unlike the show. The only people Alicent spent time with in the Red Keep are her children (Since Otto was in Oldtown). Alicent used to play with her grandchildren everyday too. Also, there's no evidence of Aegon mistreating Halaena. It's not possible as he's too young to do that kind of actions but even if he wanted to, cuz Alicent won't let him. I feel like Aegon II does have some genuine love for Halaena. We will never know what exactly happened (we don't get any POV chapters). IMO Aegon II is kinda like Robert Baratheon, he goes to brothels but does have genuine love for Halaena just like Robert did for Lyanna.
