- The festering feud between Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike is gradually becoming a matter of ethnic concern. Amid the escalating crisis, the Ijaw National Congress has issued a warning that an attack on Governor Fubara is an attack on the entire Ijaw nation. Meanwhile, members of the National Peace Committee, such as a former Head of State, retired General Abdulsalami Abubakar, and the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Matthew Kukah, have been urged to intervene in the crisis, before it escalates.

Nobody should intervene, let it be an open battle like Obaseki/Oshomole, Ganduje/Kwankwaso etc. if you intervene you are messing with the equilibrium of power. One will be forever dependent and a victim and the other victorious.
But if Wike and Fubara fight to the end, then peace will prevail and they will respect each other for good knowing that they all have their territory and sphere of influence.
If you intervene like Tinubu did before, you are only complicating things and elongating the needless conflict.

Sometimes I just wonder on how we function. This are 27 adults publicly announcing their defection on national TV and we don't see that as enough reason to accept there resignation.

I think Babajide and the rest needs to verify and understand the reality about this issue of decamping. The 27 members of House of assembly wrote to the Speaker of the House at that time and the Speaker red the letter at the floor, before everyone and they all granted an interview after the House seating.
