- Skylanders used to be so popular, but nowadays it's nearly been forgotten. Will Skylanders ever make a return, and if so, what form will this take. I think Activision, Microsoft, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro are all pivitol for the return of this franchise, and in this video I will be explaining all of my thoughts! Thanks For Watching!

i feel like if they do a remaster/remake or a new game they should make a system where you can use/buy new figures to unlock a character early in game, but you can also unlock the character in game without the figure after either finding a soul gem or item OR having specialized challenges to complete to unlock characters. i feel like this would be the smartest choice they could make as it would allow collectors to keep getting new figures that would work in game, and for people who dont wanna spend alot of money on the game they only then need to play the game to unlock the characters

If they do make another skylanders game, I hope they don’t rush it just to hush the fans, cause I don’t want another game where 50% of the game little side quest given by the brain.
But I believe the reason they stopped making games is either they just stopped caring or they ran out of ideas for skylanders and gimmicks.
It will be only true if Activision announces that their bringing back skylanders.

Recently I've been hyperfixated on Skylanders and god a new game would be awesome, but if so, I hope it isn't limited to modern consoles
I only have the wii to play Skylanders on, and I literally only have swapforce, so I REALLY want to see about getting some more of them, but sadly most are limited to ps3 or I just have terrible luck trying to find them second hand LOL

I have hope that Skylanders will return! Yes, Microsoft may have closed the doors of Toys for Bob, but on the bright side, the workers are still active at home. Yet, since there hasn't been any news regarding, I've decided to work on my idea for bringing back the franchise, but in a spinoff! So sit back and let me tell you about my Skylanders spinoff game.
I call it: *Skylanders Eclipse*
It is a spinoff that *solely* focuses on the dark and light elements. Why, well ever since they were introduced in Trap Team, Superchargers and Imaginators, they overall had the *LEAST* amount of skylanders! So, not only will my spinoff bring back the skylanders franchise, but also give the dark and light elements more collectional variety and love/attention! The roster will be 32 total (similar to the SSA roster, but also includes the "gimmick"landers) (16 each) and will consist of
Eight Core Skylanders
One Giant
Two Swap Force (new swappabilites will be Gravitate and Rhythm)
One Trap Master
Two Minis
One Supercharger
One Sensei (Light Bazooker and Dark Quickshot)
Here's the storyline: the main villainess is: *Empress Eclipta* she was once a standard Drow Witch who her and her Drow legion served under Lord Kaos! However, as Kaos failed to conquer Skylands, she then went off on her own to find another evil plan to rid the Skylanders! That's when she stumbled upon a book that contained eclipse magic. First, she started practicing solar magic, later on lunar magic. After her years of mastering eclipse magic, she then began her true intention: merging both the sun and the moon together in creating a total annular eclipse so powerful, it'll *eradicate* all of Skylands!
I'm also bringing back PVP battle mode, Heroic Challenges, Swap Zones, race zones (excluding Land since it only associates with Fire, Earth, Tech and Undead), basically *everything* from the past six installments, but put in a dark and light standpoint.
Lastly, Knight Mare, Knight Light, Spotlight, Blackout, Astroblast, Nightfall, Aurora, Starcast, Blaster Tron, and Hood Sickle will be playable in the game.

I think it will get remastered but no toys but maybe only select toys and have a limited stock
There might be a new game this year, the only thing is it won't be toys to life unfortunately, that's what I heard from the leaks though it even has a trailer and everything

I have been thinking about a skylanders game where the story is that time itself is changing and we have to go back in time in skylands to the other games meaning we could play skylanders spyros adventure with like senseis or other later figures and it would make sense since now we are going back in time to correkt history!
If they remastered the first 3 games, it would be cool to allow the new characters to be used. However, the gameplay difficulty would have to be adjusted because Skylanders essentially just got power inflation as the games progressed. Thus, the old games would be too easy with the likes of trap masters and sensei for example….

I still have hope in me for the Skylanders Franchise to come back after being absent for nearly seven to eight years. I mean Skylanders does deserve to make not only a comeback, but also a RETURN to popularly for the fans and for us to be Portal Masters again since 2016.
Skylanders made a genre it deserves respect and now in this new age where stuff is becoming more digital skylanders might rise
We all know they'll probably do a remaster first because that would be the most logical step remaster those games and make it so you don't need the toys and you can unlock the characters kinda like the free DS kind of in some ways and the switch port so if you still have the toys you could still use them but you can unlock the characters in game

Well they renewed the trademark for skylanders in 2023 and those things are done at the start of development. Maybe in the next years a remake will come out and if it does well the franchise will return
Also the CEO of XBOX name-dropped skylanders when talking about games he would help activision return if they wanted to
Microsoft acquired Activision and I think Spyro 4 is going to happen. I really hope we get more Skylanders, Crash, and Spyro. I have high hopes for the future despite the unlikely circumstances.

Microsoft really hasn't own Activision for that long due to Sony trying to prevent it Foley from happening pretty much just this year was you know finally allowed because Sony was taking them to court and all that lovely junk because they were worried about a nappali but we all know that's total ******** because Sony has a lot of exclusives they are very popular
I feel like they should remake the original game like the first one make it for new consoles and better graphics than the oldest game it would be great I am a rlly big Skylander fan I've never played the original game so I would like to try it in new graphics on a newer console the oldest is Spyros adventure just to mention

I think we shouldn’t be worried about activision because do they own the rights of skylanders? I’m honestly not sure but if they don’t than we should be worried about toys for bob, but I think they have something special coming up because toys for bob said they’re working on something BIG and I can’t wait to hear what it is, hope is still in skylands because ctr has all 10 elements in the backgrounds so toys for bob still cares for them 👍. All we can do is pray though 🙏

No they have not. It's only the studio that is closed, and the workers from Toys for Bob are working from home.

As much as I want it to be likely, I still think it’s very unlikely. It’s already been 8 years almost, and the further we get the more it will fade. In the meantime, all we can do is find new ways to enjoy the games that we have. Thus, the Swap Force Dune Bug Locke on nightmare mode must happen!
I think that it should have hope to come back because that would be the best business decision that Activision could make now that we are older and make our own money to get the characters if they did physical characters. Also there would be new fans to the franchise. For a remaster I think that souls gems should unlock the characters for digital and players like us who already have a good roster of skylanders should be able to use this instead of finding soul gems and get to use any character in any game. Those are just my thoughts on a remaster.

What is most likely if they were to make a new game is a remaster of the older games. They could make it so we could use the skylanders from later games in the earlier ones

You're ahead of the curve by sticking with it! They will def have a new release or re-release in the future. It's too big of a genre to ignore.

The in time part reminds of how long it took for the light and dark villains to be revealed so maybe it won’t be long 😊
Although I don’t think the return is very likely, a remaster of at least SSA and Giants would be the most plausible. However, I don’t think we’ll ever see a 7th game with a new story.
