Can I just say: iPad + Pencil + Goodnotes; absolutely life-changing! I can hand-write my notes, undo, fully erase, rearrange, and with Goodnotes handwriting recognition, I can still search! Handwriting and digital all in one step :D and don't even get me started on stylization, I spend so much time prettifying my digital grimoire 🥰

I love using instrumental soundtracks for studying, the lord of the rings soundtracks will always be a favorite

Video game soundtracks are also excellent because they're designed to be in the background but keep you focused. My personal favourites are the Zelda and Chill albums (which are chill lofi remixes of the zelda OST) or anything from the Cafe Music BGM channels (chill jazz piano background music)

@@nojerama788 oh yeah I love both of those too! I fall asleep to Zelda and chill most nights haha

I want to add that no one should feel pressured to write notes on every book they read or be so intense about studying all the time. You will not remember everything you study, and there are no exams that you're memorising things to pass. If you want to read a book, enjoy the book, maybe tag some interesting pages for later, then put the book back on the shelf, do that. You will not remember everything you read, the important thing is that you know the information is there and you know where it is when you need it. The important information will stick with you through time and practice.

This is what I wanted to ask you: if you could make a video about how to start, where to start, what should we focus on etc. As a beginner I sometimes find it hard to get down to stuff without thinking "is it too advanced for me?". You're the best 💜💜💜 Your digital BoS looks like a book already, I hope one day we can read your own book! 👍 Happy New Year to you! 🎆🎇🎉🎊 You mentioned Harry Potter: which house are you, btw? I am a Ravenclaw 🙂

I use Notion to organize all of my occult notes. HIGHLY recommend. You can also use Readwise to import annotations from Kindle to Notion. LOVE

Taking your time is awesome. I tend to never get anything actually done though so I like to use the SMART method to set a goal, even if it’s 15 minutes of designated study time on x subject.

To add, if you have Procreate (idk about other drawing apps) you can create a sketch book so if you use the grid then you can make lines for writing.
You can have separate books for everything you’re working on, then if you want to print it out you can organize it from there.
That’s what I’ve found at least.

Taking the time to learn is so important. Giving ourselves "space" to pace, reflect, and experience is more productive than speed-reading through 30 chapters of a spellbook.

I've been loving that same fireplace video lately. It's just enough noise without being distracting and a cozy ambiance.

I LOVE learning when it is just for my own pleasure and my own improvement. When I can study at my own pace, then difficult areas aren't as stressful, because I can take all the time I need to learn them. And, pleasurable areas can be savored and studied to my heart's content, rather than having to rush off to the next area!

I'm making my digital grimoire on Notion. It's a great way to organize and make colorful and organized notes. It's really easy to move text, add images, embed youtube videos or anything. I think it's better than having a long document on Word!

Thank you for this vid!! Knowing examples of how people infuse their daily life with their practice helps me think of how I can in mine and gives a reassurance of a sort. Also how to sort and organize all this data!! I have learned so much but haven't taken any real notes and am regretting now a bit. But I especially didn't think to move my notes over to digital and "enhancing" with pictures! This definitely will help with my herbalism studies!

This is all so helpful and wonderful, thank you!! Yas, always cite your sources! :) I also 100% swear by jotting down notes first, then transferring to another "nice" document - I use a beautiful phys book and "making it pretty" part is a fun reward for myself!
Same, I only discovered I really enjoy "studying" as an adult cuz I finally realized I can "study" things I'm actually interested in like astrology, folklore, or esoterica. Then I figured out I LOVE the whole dusty library, cool notebooks and pens, arcane books, warm tea etc. ambiance :)
It was also super helpful when I discovered YT, podcasts & audiobooks - I love books but I often focus better by hearing, so don't forget all those things are also studying!

I saw your markers and I was like... I need that in my life hahaha. I love the file you have, so I might do it that way too. When I study I listen to alpha waves and draw a sigil on my wrist get a glass of water and some things to snack take between 45 minutes to an hour to study, then I take a 20 minute break to stretch the legs and move around I do that too so my eyes don't get tired, I try to revisit all the things I just studied with my eyes closed for a few moments and whatever I don't remember very well or I feel is very important, that's what I usually take notes of. Great video 💜

I haven't had to study for a "test" in years now so I've catered the way I study (because of course I still study) to work for the way I use that information. Which is really that I take notes that are meant to jog my memory ("oh yeah, I remember reading that part of that book"), or be a reference for information that I know I won't remember (like herb correspondences. I forget that shit all the time.)
I also don't really bother keeping a "pretty" book of shadows. My Book of Scribbles is a lot more easy to navigate.
I have a separate notebook I use the same way for my job and also for general life stuff (recipes, to do lists, all sorts of stuff.) Highly recommend. Study is lifelong. It's not just for school.

I love this!! I got so excited when you mentioned putting on libraries/Hogwarts themed backgrounds with rain because that’s what I always do!! It was also the reassurance I needed because I have been feeling bad about having to go back to my notes for everything lately.. thanks 💙💙

Totally unrelated to the point of the video, but I had to comment it. Omg a fountain pen!!! I have a few Twsbis and I love them! When I first saw it, I freaked out lol. Again great vid!

    Hey,
So this is my first time discovering your content like just now! And I dreamt about you this morning (I live in Australia 🇦🇺 so was probably last night for you)
Ok this sounds really weird... but I was in my room but asleep and saw a face in my mirror reflecting from my doorway, ended up hanging out with that person and 2 of my friends. I tried to help them (and yes they were a them) to fulfil the prom things they didn’t get to do. Their date showed up and they were trying to recite a short poem which I knew at the time... but then their faceless friend joined us for the rest of the dream.
Anyway, it was super real and then I found your Instagram and your face looks the same as dream face...

K... So I must be a nerd then. Because studying in itself has never been a negative thing in my mind.
It just depends on the subject. Some are much harder then others for me to get interested in.

Fire sounds make me want to punch walls. (Hyperbole saying I really dislike fire noises) no problem if you like it, I just think it's funny that I dislike it THAT much.
