  • The boys are planning to take on Rapha's Festive 500 over the Christmas period, where to goal is to ride 500km between Chrismas Eve and New Years Eve. But before that they need to do some training.
    In this weeks episode Joe and Reuben head out for a tough training ride with the aim of hitting the hills hard in order to prepare for those long miles over Christmas. As always they both have a good go at dishing out some pain to one another.
    Joe also gives the lowdown on his 2019 long termer, a Scott Scale RC 900 World Cup. He's got some big races planned and hopefully the Scale will be a loyal companion in 2019.

      500 klicks in a week at this time of year is a lot, so cheers to you gents for rising to the challenge! And as far as advice, I guess I'd say keep watching the odometer and stop at 500. And make sure it is set to kilometers, not miles.

    Very dismayed with Joe's lack of jumper Christmas spirit, but Ruben saves the day. The Scott looks to be one of the sweeeetest HT's ever - can't wait to see what you make of it long term.

    I love that area between Bristol and Wells. So many nice little roads and the odd trakeway too. Thinking of riding from my home (sussex) to Bristol via Wells when the weather picks up next year so I watch those KOMs (not).

    I've had to pull out of the 500 this year, as I'm still pretty mashed up from being driven into on a roundabout during the commute a couple of weeks back. An entire rib cages' worth of pulled muscles is not fun! Hope you guys have a fantastic time riding this Christmas, take it steady and enjoy yourselves. Lots of coffee stops!

    Why the bloody hell would you take a mountain bike on a road ride?

    • @Advcrazy
      @Advcrazy 5 років тому +1

      This time of year I pretty much only ride my mtb on the road. Too much snow on the trails and too much chance for ice on the road for a road bike. I’m in norway though. But also, you don’t get as cold on the mtb because the speed is lower and my feet tend to stay drier longer
