CABLE (The Apocalypse Terminator) MUTANT EXPLAINED

- Опубліковано 4 жов 2024
- Hey guys what’s happening? Niyat here with film comics explained, and as requested, today we’ll be exploring Nathan Christopher Charles Summers, also known as Cable.
Who, as a baby terrified Apocalypse so much that he infected him with the techno-organic virus to keep his insane potential powers in check.
While Nathan first appeared as a newborn infant in The Uncanny X-Men #201 created by writer Chris Claremont and Rick Leonardi, it wasn’t until The New Mutants #87 by Louise Simonson and Rob Liefeld that we got to see the adult warrior Cable.

In this video, we’re going to go through Cable’s History and the insane extent of his telepathic and telekinetic powers.

"So dark! You sure you're not from the DC Universe?" Lol!! I'll never forget that line from trailer and film
😂
Best line in an amazing movie
Cables response to him that led to that iconic line was golden in it's own right as well! Lol
I laughed so hard at that part
Cable : Dubstep's for pussies!
Wade Wilson : You're so dark. Are you sure you're not from the DC universe?
I have the original 1990s X-Men cartoon series on DVD. And I love that episode when Cable goes backward in time to help the X-Men defeat Apocalypse. He was like Apocalypse we have a cure now, your virus is now useless. The names Cable, Apocalypse remember it.
“I will not forget this impudence”
@@anthonygrant7124 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Thanks for taking me back to my childhood with this comment.
@@damianstarks3338 Not a problem. Thanks to this series I have the massive comic book collection I have now.
@@grapeshot awesome.
Cable is the shit so happy to see you reviewing him. Josh Brolin played him to perfection in Deadpool 2.
Russel Crowe: was offended when offered to play as Cable
Thanos: fine I’ll do it myself
Lol I guess he was saving himself for Hedonism Zues
Brad Pitt: **electrocuted**
@@iceheart1289 You do mean Santa Claus?
Did he throw a phone again lol
Clever human
Oh heck yeah, Cable definitely deserves more love!
Cable is literally just that kid on the play ground who would say, "I have a shield that blocks your sword/gun etc. I also have magic shoes that let me fly away from your laser eyes." He just can do everything..... I mean the guy can manipulate atoms and time travel whenever he wants. He seems kinda silly with how over powered he is.
You say this, because you didn't get the whole idea, long before Disney bought Marvel and Marvel decide to turn Captain Marvel in their Superman in high heels, they were already trying to create a Marvel Superman, since at that time, folks didn't care so much about the Avangers, and the X-men were in fact the most successful comics Marvel had, it was most logical that their Superman would come from the mutant side of Marvel.
Problem with Cable is that he is way too dark to be such type of character despite how powerful it is, hence why during the Age of Apocalypse his counterpart from that world was brought to the main Marvel universe, and become the X-Man wich is basically a younger, more powerful and without the techno-virus version of Cable, also he is less darker because despite came from a similar world as Cable he didn't suffer as much as Cable in that world, he was mostly protected until he reach an older age, and when his friends died, he was immediatly transported to the main Marvel universe, and join the X-men even tough X-man doesn't have the same popularity as Cable.
@@efxnews4776 how does that change the fact that he is still silly with how over powered he is? I also consider Superman to be silly as well. If you make a "super man" the story has to make up reasons why he can't just solve every issue in 1 second because he or she has the power to do so.
Think about Batman, he is just human so, he can't just solve the issue at hand in 1 second so, the story works to show you how it's possible for him to be a super hero, and still be useful standing next to people who actually do have super powers.
The reason why super man and cable seem silly and boring to me is because the story has to be written in a way to make up excuses for why they can't use their full powers while other super hero's all around them are constantly going full power just to keep up with the issue at hand.
@@Squashylemon batman is silly also. Is power is plot device called "Preparation Time". He can overcome any issues just having time, even godly ones.
@@258Loures So, all super hero's are silly, I mean they have super powers. I wasn't talking about if you could pick apart each super hero until they are seen as silly. I was saying that you need to give a super hero limits to their powers to keep them interesting for the audience. It's fun to see batman working his way through a problem and solving it using his brain because he doesn't have super powers. It's boring to watch a "super man" character walk into a situation and just smash his way through the problem because they are over powered, and don't have any limits that they have to over come.
That's why his enemy is literally a God, if you have to fight Apocalypse, then you need someone close to that level.
Now in terms of power-scaling, Cable is nowhere near as OP as Franklin Richards from Fantastic 4 kids, he literally defeated cosmic level beings and made Galactus his servant
I never realized how under powered he was in Deadpool 2. Being able to rewrite matter at the base quark level is beyond anything imaginable, Cable could essentially become a God if he wanted to.
And as much as I love the character, that's sort of the problem. I appreciate all his story lines, but they're sort of a mess because as a writer you really do have to sort of blind spot the fact that dude is so powerful or the plot will fall apart.
This film captures his actual power level. Cable’s power would incinerate his body if it wasn’t always fighting the techno organic virus. The last time it was removed, his power went berserk.
@@rawrsince718 that’s the way I’ve always understood it too. Cable is an Omega level mutant, but most of his power is focused on fighting the virus.
He doesn’t want to. He just wants Russel to pay for killing his family
He's basically superman. His power levels varies depending on the plot, because reasons, lol.
So he can basically win everything himself at all times, the comics really wrote themselves into a corner with some characters
Exactly.
I got into comics because of the art, fell in love with some of the story lines: then fell out of them, for the reason you just named. Omnipresent/omniscient character's coupled with the convenience of the multi-verse (the written one, not the MCU version), made me lose interest. Between writer's just making up powers, deeming them "latent", to fit their narrative; and characters never, truly, perishing (sure, a named hero may die; but the differently named, same alias, would just pop up from a parallel universe) just made it boring. There's no stakes.
yeah pretty much. h's still pretty cool.
X Force was always my favorite comic as a kid over X men it seemed more thuggish lol Cable is a beast! thanks for doing this.
"Watch out for this guy! Cable, he's really short, 5'11, not at all like in the comics!" Yup movie version was def nerfed!
"Who are you?"
"I'm Batman" great way to start the video. Fn awesome video as always. Please keep them coming to satisfy my late nights/early mornings need to watch videos.
This video was so awesome and I learned so much about cable that I did not know about before. Thanks for making it!
Glad it was helpful!
Cable my guy. Definitely in my top 10 favorite X-men characters
It is quite ironic that the Summers clan has been among the most powerful mutant family. It is too bad that Tyler Dayspring is not much talked about or seen in any major events right now in the Marvel comics and cinema
Dolph Lundgren, Mel Gibson, "Keira Knightley" would have been perfect as Cable. Lol!! That post credit scene from Deadpool.
There was one scene in Deadpool 2 where he said, "F--K you, Mel Gibson! You shouldn't have said 'no' to this movie!"
lol
Man you are just brilliant with all your videos!
Thank you so much for the great content which brings such joy in a world that produces such tremendous stress!
My pleasure!
Thanks for the video!! See you later!! Stay safe.😊
Thanks! You too!

Alongside batman animated series..
My personal favourite x man niyat was storm 😊
Followed by rogue and archangel

I'm practically 40 😂👍
In Deadpool 2, while Wade and Russell are trying to escape the prison, Wade says, "Whose the grumpy old F--KER with the Winter Soldier arm?" Lol!
Speaking of, Deadpool WILL join the MCU sooner than you think.
Cable: Who are you ??
Deadpool: Im batman 😂
I love seeing such appreciation for my favorite superhero. This is just scratching the surface, even though there's so much here already.
When I was little I had a Bishop toy and my brother had a Cable toy. We had no idea who they were 🤣🤣
I thought wolverine name was x man
@@joejett5084 🤣
I just finished rewatching Deadpool 2 😆
"He can put together extremely complicated devices", proceeds to put 3 big gun pieces together lol
His backstory thing like his daughter and wife in deadpool 2 is really sad
I never realized that cable was basically dr Manhattan with clothes on..
Shalom
Thank you man!
I never realized how underpowered Cable is in the movie Deadpool 2.
Honestly I'm not a comic reader. So I don't know how much the characters in the movie are so nerfed than compared to their comic versions.
It is getting tiring to see our beloved heroes and villains being so utterly pathetic in the shows and movies as the comic shows they are much much more powerful than being shown in the screen.
We have a host of the next generation being blinded by this.
He really wasn't. In the comics Cable mostly uses his powers to deal with his virus, so he usually is just a guy with a big gun and some gadgets. Maybe a little Telekinesis if he's having a good day.
Cable is OP in fact he fought all the avengers at once and won but it's weird that in the comics currently adult cable is dead he got killed by his teenage self and his teenage self is banging all of Emma Frost's clones what a pimp
I gotta get me one of those techno-viruses.
Make sure you are an Alpha-Level Mutant that can contain it though. Otherwise you will turn into a fridge bro
@@filmcomicsexplained fridge can tank hits
@@greenkoopa as shown in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
I'member him through Uncanny X-MEN, New mutants and X-Force comics before the X-MEN cartoons and Strife also one of my favorite characters of the X-MEN and X-Force.
Remember seeing Cable first time in mid 90 x-men comic. Dope as hell.
Cable is such an interesting & outright badass character in the X-Men franchise.
I am glad that this channel give some recognition to the X-Universe and his many characters.
He was my favorite in the old X-Man cartoon and I didn't even know he was that tight and had that many capabilities then but now I'm really feeling him thanks
Hopefully you continue reading that story of Hicks and Newt. That is really interesting story that really caught me.
Will do!
Cable is so powerful and its the best hate friend of my fav charactere
Cable is one of the most badass characters in Marvel and I see a few people in these comments saying he's boring or too OP..
You can tell they know nothing about the comics or anything. Brolin played him perfectly in the movie.
When I was a little kid, me and my friends collected comics, cards, and the action figures. Cable was damn near everyone's favorite hero and this was back when things spread by word of mouth. Not the internet.
Cable and Forge were two of the most beloved characters in my neck of the woods when I was a kid.
Cable and the X-men were the reason why i got into comics in the 90`s. I stopped reading after age of apocalypse . Based on what i saw here, ol`Cable is a lot more advanced then he used to be. Shout out to "The X-ecutioners song " cross over series. Its a good read if you haven't read it . Awesome vid by the way.
He was always my favorite one in the movie
The movie fell short to show his cannon powers, but it would have also complicated the plot
I wish they would've used more of his abilities in Deadpool 2
This is cool please do series on all of x-men mutants. The known and lesser known “good and bad” guys 🙏
Earliest I've been. Man your Vids takeoff these days. Happy for your success.
Legend!
Cable: Who are you?
Deadpool: I`m Batman
Edit: thanks for the heart 💓
Cable's most deadly ability, emit 5G :D
2:44 Scott Summers, deadbeat dad.
Disapears when he is a baby, and then tells his son he will never be alone, before leaving him forever lol
Hell yes! Do more of this!
One nitpick/grievance: "Dayspring" is part of Cable's full name even though it is considered something of a nickname. Other than that this video was on point. I used to read the comics. I guess I'm showing my age a little.
We both, this younglings complaining about didn't weren't even born in that time, they see the guy in the movie and think it's just another comic relief for Deadpool without knowing anything about the character itself.
A shame that we wouldn't probably see the character so soon on the screen again since Disney aquired the rights for the X-universe and don't seem to care so much about the mutant side of Marvel.
filmcomicsexplained next time make about jason bourne, ethan hunt and captain America you can do it you once did about agent 47
Adding them to the list!
@@filmcomicsexplained thanks the best spies and the best super soldier

Maybe a video about the virus and why is it still powerful enough to overcome someone that can change matter, thanks!

So many people miss the cameo by Matt Damon and Alan Tudyk.
Always find it funny alot Mutants have kids an then those said kids powerful or not always seem to have vastly different powers from their parents. Like Cyclops having very different powers from his son here.
Or Mystique being the mother of Rogue but Rogue's best power is being able to drain energy an power from others Mutant or not an even use those same powers sometimes. Making her an those like her potentially the MOST powerful, dangerous an formidable Mutants even MORE powerful then an Omega or a whole separate class of it if they/she could ever learn to use just about any ability they find themselves having the times it does.
Because the Grey gene speaks louder than the Summer gene, the Summers gene isn't so powerful, but the Grey, gene, we are talking about insane level of powers.
Rouge is adopted if they didn't retconned. Weird enough with powers are the Mr Fantastic and Invisible Women, theirs son doesn't inherit any powers from them, and his crazy powerful.
Holy convolution Batman!
So down to the brass tacks of it….
He’s a god.
I just hope whenever the MCU intro the X Men and Cable arrives with Deadpool that his parents is Cyclops and the real Jean Grey.
Great work thank yoU
Awesome! Cheers
Ahhh the liefield era shoulder pads
Can we get a video on the OP summers family?
Still think stephen lang would have been an amazing cable
Love this guy!
I remember playing MVC 2 and everyone spamming cable because he was so OP good times.
you know what would be an awesome movie series? a john wick style series about cable traveling through time.
Honestly though josh Brolin did an awesome job as cable, I could still see Stephen Lang playing cable as well
Since u covered cable u got to cover part 2 of wolverine's origins
Cable is from anchorage!lol 907 in the MCU
Cable is a amazing character and I hope they do more with him in the future, especially in the x men 97 series
Also Neyat you have to cover more of the crossed or even the sadness 2021
I much preferred the version of him they did in Deadpool; where he wasn't actually a mutant, just a super-soldier with some crazy hi-tech gadgets
Please explore The Ancient Enemy from The Phantoms.
Apocalypse is such a nice guy, he couldve killed baby Cable but in one of historys most convoluted stories he just infected him with a techno organic virus. As you do
TLDR "He's god but that's not interesting so we water it down"
good ⚡✨🔥💯🔥
Zip it Thanos!
Please explore Sphere.
I hope it's more details in the comics cause if he just left her to be with Jean he comes off as a crappy person
good stuff.
Can‘t believe you didn‘t use his signature music from the movie even once.
Have you done a video about Bishop?
Not yett! But will add it to the list now! Thanks Green Koopa
@@filmcomicsexplained I dunno this may be too complicated but what about the character Leatherface in all his alternate reality incarnations 🤔🤔
Sounds like Cable is pretty OP
Cable's story is amazing...but it is brought by clips from Dead Pool 2 where a clown and a kid made a fool of him ultimately forcing him to come begging to them for help.
Sweet 👍
can you cover iron man next?
addding him to the list!
