@@outsideiskrrtinsideihurt699Yep this masterpiece is directed by Masaki Kobayashi, also I recommend checking The Human Condition Trilogy! Great movies
At 2:36 there's an anachronism in the scene, as we can clearly see what seems to be a camera being operated by several men. However there are no surviving texts or accounts of video cameras being used in feudal Japan. The technology just wasn't fully fleshed out at the time. Maybe the director meant to use it as some sort of poetic license, but I feel like this detracts a bit from the overall ambience of the movie.
It has tough competition but I truly think it’s the greatest samurai film of all time
100 percent
Anything Kurosawa touched has a shot at greatest film category regardless of genre.
@@phillipg1331 I don’t think Kurosawa had anything to do with this movie

"Who can fathom the depths of another man's heart?"
That line alone gives me shivers. This movie is beautifully human.
One of the coolest films I ever watched.
True.
One of my favourite films. Love it.A very sad story, but the ruthless revenge is executed perfectly. Well done to everyone involved in it.Great stuff.

"The technology just wasn't fully fleshed out at the time"
I think that's fair to say since it's set in early 1600s 😂

This is currently my favorite movie. It has had that position for 2 months now and doesn't show any sign of getting taken over.
I'd recommend Twilight Samuri if you enjoyed this, another great movie.
Sword of doom is also a great flick
I just watched this. Incredible everything.
