Grew up on metal of 60's & 70's. My favorite artist of that time was Pink Floyd (less metallic) and then grew more distant over time to music in general..........until I heard Jinjer and now I'm sucked back in.

Emo Girl bothered me because MGK is a 30+ year old father singing about being in love with a girl. And if you look at the lyrics, I don't think he actually understands emo or what an "emo girl" is - that was annoying. Him talking shit about everyone seems like a hold over from his rap/hip hop roots. That is normal and expected in that world, but is not a part of the metal/rock world. And so people whose roots are in the rock/metal world find that so annoying and disrespectful.

You should hear MGK's side to this though. Look up the video where he's asked his first crush.
He responds by saying that Underage at the time Kendel Jenner is his current crush and he doesn't care that he's an adult and she wasn't at the time.
He goes on to mention every legendary Rock Star that dated younger to defend his multiple public advances on her.
Him doing multiple interviews calling Eminem's 16 year old daughter "Hot as F" is the real reason Eminem beat his rap career into hiatus.
@@mimoe7587 I have heard all that and I'm confused. Is this supposed to be a defense of MGK? Knowing his background is part of the reason I don't seek out his music and why I was extra creeped out by this song.

I actually do like a handful of MGK songs and do think he’s a talented guy but I do feel he is his own worst enemy. He brings all the negativity on himself and like you guys say it’s definitely a deliberate attempt to get attention no matter whether it’s good or bad. I think he just needs to focus on what matters to him, leave everyone else out of his mouth and grow up a bit 🤷🏼♀️

Definitely more the person. This last song was pretty unappealing but the rest of his stuff definitely isn't bad
@@ArsenicAndEspressoPodcast I feel that he'd probably be alot bigger if he would just shut up lol he's definitely the leader in a wave of rappers who are going to pop punk which I don't think is bad it gives exposure n helps grow the genre
