Very nice job laying out this somewhat complex system. I’ve been using the mirror system and the spot on the wall until now, because they’re very easy and very effective, but limited to one or two rails with precision. It’s time to start practicing this system to do the same with three rails. Sure glad the pool halls are open-the ones that made it.
From what I understand, Effren played 3 cushion billiards for about 5 years. That is why he was so good at bank shots. Also why he got out of tight safety shots. when I was learning to play 3 cushion billiards my teacher made me practice how to hit a very consistent running english. I would practice hitting from all four corners and that was to understand how the chushions played, long or short. If you are not consistent in your running english you will change the angle the cue ball comes off the first rail and get different results.
What is the ideal distance from the table to the spot on the wall? 10ft away (smaller room) vs 40ft away (bigger room), 40ft is farther to the outside and definitely a different aiming point when the starting point has been moved to the outside.
I just believe in geometrical only, such as draw a perpendicular line, parallel line and midpoint. Minimizing deflection, spin, power control practice and angle of the cue. The geometrical methode will be the number of adjustment in mathematical methode

I use this system shown at the end with the numbers on each diamond. But I don't use any numbers, there is a very easy way to do this with no numbers, I learned this method myself through trial and error. Once you find the point of aim on the first rail I call this the starting point, you will make all adjustments off this point. Just find the point on the table, each table can be different. When cue ball moves up the side rail for every 1 diamond you move you adjust the starting point by half, so you find the path that when moving 1 diamond and the starting point moving half a diamond and keep moving your cue at a 2 - 1 raitio along the side rail and your starting point, this will put you on the exact same spot shown in this video. If the cue ball moves to the end rail then you use a 1-1 ratio, so for every 1 diamond you adjust the starting point by 1 diamond, very simple to do. If the object ball is 1 diamond out of corner pocket you adjust the starting point by 1 diamond, 1 1/2 diamonds out of the corner you adjust the starting point by 1 1/2 diamonds , very simple and you won't need and numbers. can do the same thing with a 2 rail kick into the corner pocket. same adjustments to. just find the starting point and bingo you got everything you need, 2-1 ratio along the side rail, 1-1 ratio along the end rail. if you watch this video my way puts you on the exact same spot much, much easier.

I will need to try this method again. Attempted it over and over on a diamond table yesterday and the normal 50 - 30 = 20 method resulted in missing by two diamonds.. and then when I adjusted for that I still missed every kick by a ball at least so I don’t know what I’m doing wrong unless the spin is more than just normal running English.

I would say it depends on how much top English. So maybe their table is a bit off for the system but if they used a bit of bottom English maybe it would be closer to on the system and the -5 might not be the most constant measurement due to the guess work and parallel shift. The rail can also require less or more English based on the angle so that is a small but important factor to consiter.

Why not just add or subtract 5 to the target, then you simply just subtract 25 instead of subtracting the extra 5 at the end? 50 - 25 = 25, done. And the closer the cue ball is to the intermediate rail, the added or subtracted 5 is going to have a much bigger effect... I believe I could make an improvement to the system to make it more accurate.
Spot on the wall exceeds a bit after the borderline close to the upper right pocket, there is some "dead space" in which you can shoot with a lot of running English.. More sidespin... And you will still reach the pocket. Just need to verify that dead space on each table you play.. And I dont know.. Maybe ull see that it doesnt work.. But for me it worked on every table I ever played. Lame table or not.. Its 100% for me that there is a dead space.
Florian, I like your system, but everybody can do that pretty well. How about 3 rails into the corner via the long rail, short rail & opposite long rail corner... then do the 3 rails to the sides
14:05 you diagram is wrong, the lines from the 3rd rail is in front of the diamond. not through the diamond. 50-30 is through the diamonds 20 is in front of the diamond.and you have add or subtract around 3 point pr. diamond you move away from the corner(50) depending on you got up or down from 50.
Excellent instruction, my instructor had a simple math system that after 15 years of not playing I forgot : ( ( took only 5 minutes to learn & had more area coverage for 3 rail ) Good explanation of the spot on the wall
I don't think you need to minus 5 if the table plays short. Just use a half of a tip of bottom english or more should be fine. You probably don't want to use top english and end up scratching half the time anyway.

not true. Most players at least start with a system and then develop the feel. I have seen videos where I know Efren is using at least parts of a system when figuring out a tough kick. Systems are used by many many top players in whole or in part.

It’s just the timing left English that you need to adjust and it won’t fail. Good luck!
