ian already tried getting clever with carl and he got his hand burnt, the thing is ian knows jack wouldn't batter but he doesn't anything about carl so he's weary of him
In fact there is good news, Max and Phil are both going to kidnap Carl later (once Phil recovers and Max is out of jail) and Ian is going to be involved in it so maybe Ian finally stands up to Carl around that time. So when Carl is kidnapped, Phil and Max might kill him before burying him, I hope they batter Carl severely before burying him. Although Carl does make a good villain for the show at the moment.
I do hope Ian eventually overcomes his fear of Carl and stands up to him, although he is very inconsistent when it comes to standing up to people (one minute he can and another he is too wimpish to do so).
There is pictures where max and phil are sort of holding him and carl looks like hes in pain. It says in the article that max and phil punch carl to his knees while ian watches lol.
It would be good if derek was still alive, i wonder if he would come to blows with carl. I think carl was weary of jack because he only tried to pick on ronnie when he knew jack left and phil didnt want to know her. He even said to her "what are you gunna call jack" so i think he knew not to fight him or probably knew he was a ex copper lol.
I think the weakest characters on eastenders are Ian (as you have said), Billy Mitchell (has been owned a lot by people and even pinned against the wall by Ian) and Micheal Moon (I know he owned Fatboy but I think Fatboy would have him if it was a fist fight considering he floored Tyler).
If Ian could stand up to Jack, why can't he do the same with Carl. I know he needs to pay Carl back (since he shouldn't have stolen Derek's money to start off with) but he's just allowing himself to be influenced by Carl at the same time.
Plus it be good if Ian punched phil just that once but the the strip writers most probably don't want to make phil a laughing stock and him and phil don't really have that bigger feud anymore. But then billy has punched phil.
I think hes just a slimy guy that bullies/throws his weight around people like ian,billy and women (ronnie) but when somebody like phil puts it on him he craps himself. Even max could take him in a fight i reckon, unless carl was trying to wind him up and trying to get a reaction but can beat him up if he wanted to idk. I find it funny when kirsty was making him out to be some monster and max goes i had derek for a brother, kirsty replied hes 10x worse but they are just bad as each other.
I agree i reckon micheal can take a beating but cant fight ian and billy cant take a beating but cant fight better (cant believe im saying that). Carl is just a waste of space now and i thought he might be decent at a time.

He punched andy but he was drunk and andy was overrated, christian and masood would win him. And he done a crap punch on den.
Yeah I agree Ian and billy only stand up to people on the rare moment and michael is most probably the weakest character but I reckon he can take a beating more than billy and Ian even thou he says not the face!! Lol

I agree fatboy would beat micheal because he has got a pretty good punch and ive never seen micheal punch anyone not even sure if he can.
