Great interview. Big respect for Jason, this was the best possible love letter to the show. I think he nailed the spirit of the show and the cast, and it was thrilling the sheer chaos of putting it together. One of the best movies I've seen this year.
Great interview! You asked all the questions I wanted to know about after seeing the film. I'm kind of bummed to learn Jason came up with the Michael O'Donoghue Christ joke. It was pitch-perfect, in his writing style and so killer, that I just wanted it to be true. But, props to Jason for coming up with it!
An enjoyable film. Really got how rough and thrown together and revolutionary SNL was in 75 before to became the by-the-numbers corporate product it is today.
Maybe Jason can take his dad’s place and produce the sequel to Twins. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny De Vito. I heard they were going to do but then Ivan Reitman passed away. I heard it’s title was to be Triplets.
Will they nominate it for ADAPTED screenplay , as they did with Barbie, or original screenplay, I wonder. Either way he deserves a nomination in Director, Picture and Screenplay. Would love to see some acting nominations too.
Although the writers and cast members of SNL hated the Land of Gorch segments, Lorne Michaels had nothing but the utmost respect for Jim Henson and his Muppets.
Jim was kinda set up to fail with them not allowing his team to be able to write their skits. So the SNL writers didn’t want to write it but he couldn’t due to some credit or union thing. True they could have picked a better premise but he could have been a great fit if they were allowed to write their scenes too.
Well it all worked out in the end. Even though every network in America said "no" to a half-hour variety series starring The Muppets, British television and film producer Lord Lew Grade said "yes." And The Muppet Show went on to be one of the biggest shows of all time. It was shown in over 100 nations.

Look good 👍👍👍👍👍😊😊😊😊😊👍👍😊👍👍😊👍👍👍👍😊👍👍😊
I think putting Milton Berle in the movie is reprehensible to any superman or historian.
15:30 Chevy was definitely just being a prick here
Great Film, but him treating Jim Henson in the film like an out of touch idiot was a load of crock...
