- Finally the day is here. Man I tell you this motor is the key to big scale speed running, not to mention it will dominate 1/7 platforms with 2500 feet of room to run. Gearing is key with this motor, start off small, make your run, check data and move up slowly. I had a lot of fun testing this motor for Castle Creations. I hope everyone enjoys the video. I got myself one of those 2028 1700kv motors and been trying it out on low volts. Hit 120mph on 3s in a 1\7 GT.
Thing just keep gaining rpm at the top, pulls forever. Dope channel brother I subbed. Keep up the great work

With its size it definitely handles more power then the higher kv small 1721 2400kv motor. It's really all ball down to how they are dialed in

I've been running the 800kv Castle and XLX2 ESC on 8s conservatively and I've always wondered if it would run on 10 or even 12s,well since you've run it on 10s that I may have a go at it? 2028 kv is rated for 12s voltage and from my experience it's awesome on 12s. Thank you for watching

Although I applaud Castle for putting out that motor if they aren’t going to put out a more capable esc, what the point? I am only saying that because on my 1100KV 2028, I melted the solder off the board to the point that the battery leads fell off. I’m not hating on it, but just don’t understand where Castle is coming from with this?
That is actually fixable. I just re solder and re apply epoxy. That's the joy of high powered waterproof esc's. Xlxv1 has actual wires coming off the driver board and wasn't waterproof. Castle owns the speedrun and drag racing games. Yeah they are releasing next gen esc next year. If you are not drag racing or speed running just run a hobbywing system 🤔

Woww my castle 800kv is a beast with max4 on 12s can't imagine this motor on 12s
It's a 8s motor. It spins faster then 800kv on 12s. But if u put the rotor in 800kv it can handle 16s easily

Let’s get technical I’ll keep it short..
current setup:
mmx8 - 1717/1650
on basic PH 7200’s 2x4s
QS8 plugs
46s

I can do 100mph and still have fun drifting and plenty of stop/go with and stay under 160°F and
35 minutes runtime give/take and current is under 300A.
It’s just what I want bcs the motor fits without fabrication and does not cogg during consecutive stop&go and drifting.
Sooo, I have a shelf queen v1 platform that never hit the ground, so if I don’t go with another CC1717/1650, then I want it to be something that will OUT PERFORM and also “fit” in the stock mount location.
Regardless of a 46T diff or 32T spool, I’m still going to gear the limitless like I geared my felony that I explained earlier because both motors are almost the same kv (1650) & (1700) and I want to be able to drive the limitless like I drive my felony, seems fair enough right lol?
So now that you know all of the details, if I flip my mount for the 2028/1700, by how much more will it outdo the 1717/1650 and will the motor OR esc run hotter or cooler?
Lastly, would you know of a motor that will outdo the 1718/1650 and “fit” in the stock configuration? Or will it ultimately have to be a “bigger” motor to outdo the 1717/1650?

2028 1700kv will wake that joker up bro. Bigger can too so will dissipate heat better. It's up to you if you want more torque and KV.

It all depends on what u dial it in for. It's definitely a awesome speed run motor but can be used for drag and general use is geared properly
Bruh you blew my mind. What if i put 1700kv rotor in 1100kv can will it keep cool on 12s. I have a max 4 and 1100kv in a kraton.
Rotor will be mechanically fit for the RPM'S. As far as temperature, u have to monitor that and address it

All the 2028 motors can handle 25KW plus honestly.

yes you can, but I would run a smaller motor and lower kv for bashing. 1721 1250 is perfect for your situation

1700kv is strictly 8s. Rotor can physically handle 60K rpms

I always just check with my hand. Motor never got hot on one hard pass. I usually just do one pass then check data

It's intended for speed run.
