One of the most versatile vocalists to ever live. A tune like this came just as naturally to Ronnie as a heavy metal tune or a mellow blues jam. Very few vocalists have such a talent.
Lady pick your feet up Come and lay beside me Show me things I've never known before Seven days of wonder Come and pray beside me I guess I'm through believing No one's waiting for me Think I woke up living on my dreams You black eyed husky woman Come and lay beside me Black eyed husky woman Come and stay beside me She ain't just another rainbow Silver lining in the sky She ain't just another rainbow Adam and the Devil got me thinking 'Bout women so I walked right up to her Adam and the Devil got me thinking 'Bout women so I talked right up to her I said I ain't got no time to waste So do the things you're told Give me seven days of wonder Come and stay beside me Adam and the Devil got me thinking 'Bout women so I walked right up to her Adam and the Devil got me thinking 'Bout women so I talked right up to her And I said I ain't got no time to waste So do the things you're told, yeah Seven days of wonder Come and stay beside me She ain't just another rainbow Silver lining in the sky She ain't just another rainbow Not the same as you and I She ain't just another rainbow Silver lining in the sky She ain't just another rainbow Not the same as you and I She ain't just another rainbow Silver lining in the sky She ain't just another rainbow
Only Ronnie and Ritchie Blackmore can make singing about rainbows cool. I know that this is Elf and Blackmore was still with Deep Purple, but this is what Blackmore heard and it made him see how great Ronnie is. Elf's music was very bluesy!!! Thank you for sending, Shaun. It's so different from Wonderworld, isn't it?
theNikki1 I love both but they dont hold a candle to Dio. Lemmy is too gruff as a singer. And Halford squeels when he hits high notes. Dio is the greatest singer of all time. All you have to do is listen to Rainbow Rising for proof.
Hi Thanks for posting I had a elf album as a young teen It had a tune called Rainy Days kinda of a piano boogie woogie but bluesy - Its lyrics Rainy Days Rainy Days too many rainy days....
Hi IVegtaml, thanks for posting. It is a bit confusing as suggested above. The video has a grasshopper and insects etc. preparing food and Burl Ives had a similsar video called the ugly bug ball. In your intro you mention the grasshoppers feast (i.e. the butterfly ball from 1974 which Roger wrote and Ronnie & Coverdale sang on). You also mention Rainbow eyes, a song from LLR&R in about 1976 and the song, Love is all which was one of 3 songs Ronnie sang on TBB&TGF. 1973? Elf/Purple years.
well dio is singing on the track I think you might be talking about ROGER GLOVER the butterfly ball where dio does several tracks and Coverdale etc. the track you might be thinking of is called Love is all with the frog walking along playing a mandolin not to be confused with Paul McArtny's the frog song

I loved Ronnie's work with ELF. His voice was so strong and the music a very bluesy rock. Just amazing. RIP RJD.
Dio's first song about a "rainbow"? - great song!
Yes indeed, and what a song! In my opinion, better than Rainbow (sounding as a whole band) and si playful and colourful.
Never heard Dio like this but damn I love it no matter what
I've already listened to this song 5 times today, Dio has a f-ing awesome voice /,,/ !!!
Lady pick your feet up
Come and lay beside me
Show me things I've never known before
Seven days of wonder
Come and pray beside me
I guess I'm through believing
No one's waiting for me
Think I woke up living on my dreams
You black eyed husky woman
Come and lay beside me
Black eyed husky woman
Come and stay beside me
She ain't just another rainbow
Silver lining in the sky
She ain't just another rainbow
Adam and the Devil got me thinking
'Bout women so I walked right up to her
Adam and the Devil got me thinking
'Bout women so I talked right up to her
I said I ain't got no time to waste
So do the things you're told
Give me seven days of wonder
Come and stay beside me
Adam and the Devil got me thinking
'Bout women so I walked right up to her
Adam and the Devil got me thinking
'Bout women so I talked right up to her
And I said I ain't got no time to waste
So do the things you're told, yeah
Seven days of wonder
Come and stay beside me
She ain't just another rainbow
Silver lining in the sky
She ain't just another rainbow
Not the same as you and I
She ain't just another rainbow
Silver lining in the sky
She ain't just another rainbow
Not the same as you and I
She ain't just another rainbow
Silver lining in the sky
She ain't just another rainbow

Love His Voice!!!!!!!!
what a melodic and powerful voice he has ..... unique !
Rainbow is perfection, just like Dio's voice
If they don't get this there left behind
That was a lot of fun! Especially the boogie part of the song when the grasshopper is teaching the ant how to dance. It sync's up almost perfectly.
the best ever...rock in peace RJD
We love U, Dio, Rest in Peace, "The voice of metal" Saint R. J. DIO

Great song! Wow! Never knew about this RJD band!
Great Dio lyric/vocal-Elf were a damn good band
pure gem, only Lemmy and Halford can reach Dio.
Video is nice too. Grashopper went to winter empty-handed but at least it had some fun too!
theNikki1 I love both but they dont hold a candle to Dio. Lemmy is too gruff as a singer. And Halford squeels when he hits high notes. Dio is the greatest singer of all time. All you have to do is listen to Rainbow Rising for proof.

@MUDSHARK111 ,..at any age,...the greatest -PERIOD !
@MaestroInfernus
Silly Symphony Cartoons - The Grasshopper And The Ants
I love the Elf stuff. I think if you compare Elf and the early Queen of the same years, the only conclusion to come to is, "Freddie who?"
Jajajaja.....!!!!
Nice....!!!!!
Lindo....!!!!!!
😅😘😚
@MaestroInfernus Disney's The Grasshopper and the Ants
10/7/2015 - #Dio73!
there was an LP soundtrack from this show.
:'( Dio.
Why is the grasshopper chewing tobacco? Lol
nunca entendi a relação desse clipe com a música kkkkj
kkkkk Pois é. Devem ter achado que a melodia combinava com os movimentos dos personagens.
0 Dislikes. You bet your damn skippy. Ron lives on.
Hi! I'm 22 years old....& I'd like to know something about elves from someone a bit 'older than me....thank!
Is that the animation which featured Dio's singing on the soundtrack?
well dio is singing on the track I think you might be talking about ROGER GLOVER the butterfly ball where dio does several tracks and Coverdale etc. the track you might be thinking of is called Love is all with the frog walking along playing a mandolin not to be confused with Paul McArtny's the frog song
@MrRandycouturefan sorry, I thought I wanted to do sarcasm, sorry again!!
Do you have the lyric
rainbow dident exist in 73 rainbow started in 75 after blackmore left purple to form rainbow thanks for the post
Dio played the piano?
97enzo97 no. he did the bass in elf, and befire that, he was a trumpet player in ronnie dio and the prophets
He only played bass on the first Elf album.
lol!...but it's nice

the spitting is disturbing xD
Not to be homophobic, but I missed the days when rainbows were not related to homosexuality.
the constant spitting is pretty grose
