  • OGRE Video = Outdoor Gear Review Examination Video | Reviewing and testing a two-burner portable grill.
    This stainless steel grill has two propane burners with each burner putting out 10,000 BTU's each for a total of 20,000 BTU output for the small portable grill.
    This grill I am using is a PitBoss Grill - amzn.to/30u4CW0. It can be hard to find but this is a near-identical grill on Amazon that I think replaced it - amzn.to/3h9yVHo - It normally goes for $150-$175 and the price tends to swing a lot so keep an eye on it if you really want a deal.
    This is the cover that works great - amzn.to/2Uva3jR
    The two burners have a five-year warranty and the rest of the grill has a one year warranty.
    Key Features:
    Pit Boss 200P
    276 sq in cooking surface
    23 lbs - 23" wide x 16" tall x 19.5" deep
    430 stainless steel body and lid
    304 stainless steel cooking grid/grate
    Two 10,000 BTU burners. (20,000 BUT total)
    Latching lid to make the grill portable
    Folding legs
    Push and turn ignition
    Thermometer on the lid
    Drip tray with concaved bottom to direct liquids to the drip tray. Also easy to empty.
    36" LP Hose - Propane line that comes connected to the grill that has the connection to a standard 20lb propane tank.
    Cooking demonstrated is a top sirloin on the grill. You get some flare-up, but when you become familiar with the unit, you learn how to cook to your likely and the grill will get it done. Easy enough to also make your own customizations & modifications to fit your needs.

    good review. No nonsense yammering about yourself. Concise, to the point and good tips. Good jobs. This grill is supposed to be the same as (identical) the Cuisinart, but $100 less. No briner.
    thanks.

      Thank you seattledc66. Still use this grill twice a week, every week. The burner plates just started to rust through so I will be looking to replace those soon. Grates are still intact with no rust and the shell shows no sign of rust either. It's been holding up great. Best of luck!

      Thank you Paul. I really appreciate your feedback. I'm still regularly using the grill. The burner plates are just now rusting through, but they've lasted longer than I thought they would. I'll be buying replacements soon. Everything else is holding up great.

      Awesome!! The grill has been doing great. My burner plates are just now starting to rust through, but the burners are still great, and the shell has no rust on it. I will be getting some new plates and keep on putting it through its paces.

    My flamenguards burnt out the first year. I replaced it with a flat peice of 1/4" steeplate. Little overkill but it works.

  • @han99594
    @han99594 2 роки тому +2

    Thanks for the video review. I was going to order the Cuisinart version but saw that this one being virtually the same except for the thermometer reading. I think this model has an extra coating on the underside of the lid which probaby retains heat a little better. Also, not to mention it's almost $60 less than Cuisinart, albeit that one comes with 3 yr warranty. I have the Weber Q100 that works great for grilling steaks but wanted something hotter with a little more flare up to grill Korean beef. Just ordered it today, can't wait to cook Kbeef next weekend.

    • @JTgatoring
      @JTgatoring  2 роки тому +1

      Awesome! Yeah, once this grill gets a little bit of build up and you turn the heat up, it will flare up good and still be manageable. I really enjoy it. The grates and outside shell is holding up great. The burner plates are rusting out and I plan on replacing them soon, but I can't complain. Very easy to clean, great to cook on, and is holding up.

      @@JTgatoring the burner plates are rusting out ? I thought this thing was nothing but stainless construction ?

    • @JTgatoring
      @JTgatoring  2 роки тому +1

      @@EverydayJ1786 That is correct, both statements. Even stainless steel will rust under certain conditions. it "stains-less" than standard steel. Its not stain-proof. With the excess heat of the burners it speeds up the chemical reaction and will cause it to degrade faster.

    • @JTgatoring
      @JTgatoring  Рік тому +1

      Thank you! Once every two weeks I cook for about 45-90 minutes with both burners on low. A tank will last me around 6 months. I normally change it out a maximum of 2 times per year. So I guess that's about 12 hours of burn time with both burners on low on a 20lb tank. Rough estimate. I haven't tracked it meticulously.

    • @gregoryburkhead7813
      @gregoryburkhead7813 Рік тому +1

      @JTgatoring thanks that's close enough .. going to add one of these because I have a smoker this size .. I use a echoflow battery bank . It gives me a 16 hours cook on one charge . I will have to buy a tank with it fill for 70 dollars first go around I believe.. and 22 dollars exchange for a tank ... I add everything in my head .. lol 😆 🤣 thanks again for the info

    • @JTgatoring

      No. This grill cooks pretty hot. They do have a single burning grill that has half the BTU's so that may do it, but this two burner would not be good for low temp slow cooking

    • @JTgatoring
      @JTgatoring  4 роки тому

      Haha not that I'm aware off. It caught fire last week so I cleaned it out and will probably clean it out more often now. It collected a lot of grease build up near the back where the grates sit and also collected a good amount in the bottom. I use a grill brush on the grates every now and again, and then I used a paint scraper to get all the stuff out of the bottom of it. No rust and still working great!
