A fierce competitor tempered with incredible grace and beauty. Athleticism, artistry, precision. She attacks the ice with supreme confidence. The exactness of her edge control. Magnificent!
All the other skaters always paled in comparison to Denise's artistry, spins and imaginative choreography that fit the music like a glove. My favorite skater always. She was one of a kind.
She was always in the right place at the wrong time. I wish she would re-instated in 1994 Olympics. Amazing she was so much older than Oksana and she could give her a run for her money.
That would have been, legit, lit AF. Even with her relatively limited jump repertoire, I think she could have been brilliant. The Toe Loop and the Salchow were not necessarily what the judges wanted to see that year, but it didn't stop Katarina Witt from re-qualifying and Biellmann was a hell of a lot more consistent on them and had superior spins. I think she could have easily been "final group" in the FS.
@stefan7171 She is peforming to Bachianas Brasileiras 5, part I (Aria Cantilena), composed by brazilian musician Heitor Villalobos. The Bachianas are a collection of compositions done by Villalobos that reflect Brazilian music with the influence of Bach's fugas. Hopes this helps.
I've loved this program for 20 years and finally getting to see it again.
is the first time I see this performance and I have never seen such perfection in every single element in a figure skating performance.
A superb skater, elegant but at the same time Powerful.

i feel like she does the biellmann spin the best! so much speed.
& why not?? She did it first and continued skating into her 40s, doing the spin that is named for her!!
Oksana was a swan on ice, so beautifull, balet, emotions, gentle moves.
Yes, but boring.
@@karllieck9064 Yes, very boring. Denisse's skating is very innovative.

The 1981 World Champion defeats the 1994 Olympic Champion !
And that was the right decision! :D
lovely
Do you have the short program for this comp?
"Bachianas brasileiras" by Héitor Villa-Lobos.
there's no skating here only back crossovers. the judges should have known better, Oksana had a real program.
Screw Oksana. She was BORING! She never came close to Denise's originality and boldness on the ice. Denise carried skating to a new plateau.
@@karllieck9064 Yes!!!
