Look, in the past year and a half KT has won two NCAA team championships, and NCAA individual champs in cross. the indoor 3000 and 5000 and the outdoor 5000. She has set NCAA records in the indoor 1500, mile and 3000 and the outdoor 5000. She has won I don't know how many conference titles including the ACC 10000 the only time she has ever run the distance in competition. One or two races don't amount to a hill of beans. We wish Parker the best, but we'll check in after 6 months and 12 months. If she is rewriting the record books, we can consider her Katelyn's generational peer.

I see something emotional going on in Katelyn’s life. I hope Katelyn has a supportive family and social peer group. No one does it alone. I want to see Katelyn fulfill her potential. Emotional barriers are just as difficult to overcome as physical barriers.

Silly auto generated video. Katelyn wasn't the best this year in X-country Parker was. She Broke the 15:00 minute barrier for 5k first for a collegian. Katelyn was sick at NCAA and may have been fighting an injury as Parker was last year.
For fans of distance running it is great to have 2 American women running at such a high level. Looking to see both Women healthy and in top form.

No, she isn't! FYI I am a huge Katelyn Tuohy fan BUT please stop these delusional headlines. Americans have a College/University competition that no other Countries has: NCAA. So, all those times are only for College level competitions and, for middle/long distance Track which is MUCH lower standard than actual Open Grade Track. NOTE: Katelyn is an Open Grade runner who seldom, if ever, competes in Open Grade races. (NCAA Sprinters are at a higher standard than the distance runners)
She is only fast if she is compared to other College NCAA athletes. However, if she keeps improving, in another 4 or 5 years, she could be at the REAL top of Track. Probably in the 10k because as she is far too slow for anything under 5,000m. I'm hoping for the 2028 Olympics.
EG. Currently KT is ranked around 250 in the world at outdoor 5,000m. She has a long way to go but I think she can get there.

Valby is up now after running 14:56 in the 5000. I really had hoped KT would have run at the BU meet but wonder if she now has let Valby get in her head. She still has the 3000 indoor mark and not sure Valby would drop down. Still think KT is faster in shorter distances because she has a stronger kick. But I really wonder what direction she'll go in now with NCState or going all out pro and possibly trying to qualify for the Olympic team.

State's fall graduation is December 15. If she decides to go pro, I should think we will see an announcement not long afterward, and my bet is with Adidas, where Elly Henes, Whittni Morgan and Anna Camp Bennett race.
By the way, I watched the BU opener on FloTrack for several hours and I swear KT was there in the stands at the finish just in front of the finish line camera. Only a few glimpses of her face, but it was her: signature pony tail, red hoodie, black yoga pants and Adidas shoes. She looked sad.
