What a lovely old building. The interior is just exquisite in it's attention to every little detail. Do you have any idea of the history of the grounds before that hotel was built? Or who occupied Marietta pre the town's settlement? I hope there is a forth coming video of any paranormal events that you may have experienced soon. John you've come a long way from being hesitant and not wanting paranormal experiences to checking out haunted sites ! Good for you :)
It is a fantastic hotel for sure. The Native Americans who inhabited this area of Ohio were mound builders. In fact, the town cemetery is built around a 30 ft tall native burial mound. The paranormal experience I had at the hotel happened when I was alone in one of the rooms. An actual voice from someone standing behind me. (I was alone in the room).
Beautiful hotel! Honestly just watching the video, the part when you walked into that doorway of the dark room in the basement I felt something was off before you said it. So I could imagine being there was a bit unsettling.
Hi, my step dad is from that area like 27 miles north New Matamoros, I moved to Ohio remembering going past this hotel when I come and visit. I'll have to ask my dad and sister ( half) if they knows about this being haunted.. thanks for the video
What an absolutely well done and riveting video. Next level material, my friends. And I agree...that basement room...just...no. Felt that evil heaviness even watching as a viewer.
Very well done 👏 i felt like i was watching something in-between a documentary and unsolved mysteries. If this is a series id use the name of it in your outro and send it off to a network 👍
I'm guessing a hotel of that size has had thousands of guests over it's long history. What puzzles me about places like this, where accounts of paranormal activity are so numerous, why do some people have those experiences while others don't? I'm not doubting the experiences some, like the lady you talked with, have had, I'm just wondering why others don't have the same experiences. Whatever the cause is, John, this was a really great episode!! Thank you for posting another amazing adventure!
It’s a great question my friend. I had an experience in that hotel. Neither Randy nor Little John did though. Why I had the experience and they didn’t is beyond me. I wasn’t looking for it to happen and I wasn’t expecting it.
@@CuriousHistoryYT Very interesting, John. Must be some kind of sensitivity to the paranormal at work. I've been in old houses that some believe were haunted and never experienced anything supernatural. Guess I'm just insensitive!
@takkmoran9770 there are some who say that experiences happen when you least expect it. And if you try too hard to have an experience, you will be disappointed.
Most aged lodging houses have had more suicides, murders and fatal ODs than residential homes. The spiritual always intersects with the material. Some folks are sensitive & discern ghosts--our God-given essence. Human souls are just like they were in life. Most wouldn't know an introverted one is around. Ghosts also must know how to manipulate the physical and need power to do so. I've been through several hauntings; likely bc I'm a sensitive intuitive.👻
Great to see this podcast. Maybe you should not have visited it so close to Halloween!🎃 Stay safe and keep taking your tranquilizer! Have a greats day.
When you said marietta I got excited thinking you were in marietta Georgia where I live. Then when I saw the hotel I knew it wasn't in my town. =) but what a beautiful hotel that is. The hurricane lamp on that small table was lovely. Also the lady that showed you around and saw someone. I saw a thin white lady with shorts on and long hair walk by where you all say you saw something. Was that the one or was there something before that. Anyway ty for the video.
@@CuriousHistoryYT You really didn't hear that? I've been investigating since 1972, and I couldn't have missed that if I tried! It's so freaking clear!!! Good catch!

Love to see the " fire nod" 🔥 and naturally the dome was what was missing after the " restoration". Otherwise love this look into this beautiful structure
Ahh the Buxton Inn. Such an amazingly haunted location! Especially when you consider full body apparitions have conversations with hotel guests! I wonder…
When I paused at 7:42 it looked like someone dressed modern. A woman in a black tank top and beige or grey shorts with black sandals. It didn't look like a ghost.
I can honestly say I don’t know. I walked to where she was, turned the corner, and no one was there. She may have already made it down another hallway but I have no way of knowing.
@@CuriousHistoryYT Well, whatever it may be, if you pause the video at just that moment, you will notice the leg nearest the camera is smoky from the calf down.
Okay so that lady who walked in the background looks to be dressed for today, not many years ago but nice try. Go to Springfield Ohio and film the real horror going on in the hotels and apartment buildings that have been taken over!
I second this!! That is real life horror going along! Along with the victims forgotten down sluth. Thanks to our great leaders for committing crimes against Americans. I rather interact with spirits vs real.people nowadays. Humans are the real threat and horror.
@@CuriousHistoryYTkeep remembering that you're doing a fantastic job and your giving life back to those who lost theirs. You give light to the ghosts again!
I remember almost 30 years ago, in the Women's restroom, I heard crying in the stall beside me. I still wonder to this day if it was other worldly.
That’s awesome! Scary, but awesome!

I have an old lady ghost living with me. A man forgets to put the seat down. If I forget she slams it down. I jump out of my skin every time

More haunted than the Buxton Inn in Granville?
