  • In this vlog, Dok and Tante Dap visit @MuseumBroekerVeiling in the Dutch town Broek op Langedijk, where the oldest sail-through vegetable auction in the world is located. In 1887, the so-called "Dutch auction" or "descending-price auction" was created here: one starts with a high amount, which decreases further and further until one of the traders places a bid. During the visit of Dok and Tante Dap, there is a true auction going on: the vlog duo bids on heads of lettuce, leeks, strawberries and kiwis. Can they make a good deal? Then it's time for a little cruise on the remaining part of the "realm of a thousand islands". There were once more than 15,000 fertile islands around Broek op Langedijk that were used as fields. The boat that sails past the remaining approx. 225 islands is about to leave, but the vlog duo has lost track of time and is not on board yet... Will they find the boat in time?
