Goes back to the ancient days of the london underground when different companies ran lines and they didn't do simple things like go up two flights of stairs a walk and go down two flights to reach your connecting train. I can't think of a nyc subway transfer like Central platform Bank to District Line Monument.
Because the tunnel used to be walkthough, but now you have to go though the DLR platforms to reach another side of the escalator, so you walk up to the District line platform. This is part of the Bank station expansion
Because the First Person Journey series isn't about getting to places quickly or directly it's about showing off infrastructure and a vertical slice of London transport

the station should be named bank (or bonument but its bigger than bank)
