Sadly for you I know where one is under a carport. The car is original and complete. It has all the right trim, badges, Gold 16" Snowflakes...I mean this one is totally there. Has always been in my hometown. Good luck with your car! I'm the 3rd owner of a 1972 that has been in my hometown since 1978. Love those Pontiac's!!!
This will be fun to follow. I just bought a 1979 Trans Am, here in Norway. It looked pretty, but there are many challenges lurking under the hood and further back under the car. I'm going to start subscribing to your channel, so I can get inspiration, to finish my car too :)
It does indeed have the WS6/W72 Perf Package on the build sheet. However, it is an early '78 and has the M33 option for the 3 speed auto so slightly less desirable by some. Unfortunately, the engine/trans were pulled before I took ownership...
One of the guys who was stationed on the local American base brought one of those over with him. We would often see it in town but that was years ago and I haven't seen it around for a while. They are cool though especially compared with the usual British classics.
my y88 is getting a sbc, only because the previous owner before the one i bought it from turned it into a drag car, ripped the 400 out, had a 454 bbc in it, painted it red, and ripped the rear swaybar out.
Yes I'll start following your channel I get my seventy nine today can't wait
I have a mint one of these absolutely love it. Not too many here in Australia
Did you import it or just happen to find a diamond in the rough?

Major project but if you have the ability to fix it then it will be worth it !
Y88 is rare, but what it really makes it interesting if it also has the w72 (performance package) option. That would make it very desirable.

Awesome! They're definitely getting harder to find now. Hopefully he just transferred and the car moved with him.
Eyyy you and Swede both have a lot more than 95 subs now. I can def see the potential!
Is this project still going?
I want to buy it
The question is will you put in a Pontiac engine or a wretched Chevy engine?
It's gotta be either the 400 or a 455. As tempting as it is to do an LS swap, I'd feel awful knowing I did the car dirty like that.
